My day was really good. I got up with Ryan as Tyler was leaving for work. I put Ryan on his mat and started reading to him again from Exodus. We are currently at the part with the golden calf. He was getting a little fussy so I picked him up and we walked around. I got lots of smiles which always makes everything better. Oh man, he is so cute. I can never catch him smiling on camera though. It only seems to happen when Tyler is holding him so it kind of seems like I never make him smile, but I do.
Tyler came home for lunch and played with Ryan which I prepared my own lunch. I can't recall what I had but I'm sure it was good. Tyler hasn't been coming home at a consistent time because he has to go to conference calls with his co-workers so I never know when he will come through the door. Usually I'm ready for a bit of a break from holding the Ry man so it's nice to see him at lunch. Also, Ryan has a habit of staying awake all morning. Today it was from 8:30 to 1:30 and I'm not complaining about that. I do try to put him down in his crib when he falls asleep in my arms but he always wakes up right away and then wants to get out of there. He then will sleep for a few hours in the afternoon, allowing me to do my own thing. I like to workout and cross stitch. I'm so so so close to being done Ryan's cross stitch that I just want to move on to the next project. When we went to Port Hardy for our first ultrasound for Ryan, I picked up an Elk pattern that is similar to the orca pattern I did. It has a native elk laying in the grass with a real elk standing behind it. It was Tyler's pick and it's pretty awesome. I really love most of these patterns. If you go to www.stitchingstudio.com and click on Sue Coleman's stuff, you can see most of what I want to work on in the future. The next one I want to do is the wolf one.
Ryan slept all afternoon and soon enough Tyler came home. I started on dinner while Tyler cleaned up the house a little. Ryan sat watching me make the meal. We had Mexican beef soup. It was really good but we decided that it could have used rice as well.
After dinner, we cleaned up and played with Ryan some more. Tyler got some studying done and I did the dishes.
We are ending the evening watching a bit of our favorite show. We are also trying to keep Ryan up just a little longer so we can sleep a little longer. Right now, Tyler is sitting with him in the burping position and he looks like a little turtle. He's just perfect and we love him so much.
