I'm blogging now because it's been stormy all day and I'm not sure how much longer our internet will be working. I'm just hoping to get to the end of this blog before it cuts out.
Well, last night I headed to bed at around 9:30 and read "What to expect when you're expecting". It's interesting to read all this stuff about what's going to happen when the water breaks and the fun stuff that follows that but that information never changes. I've read it a hundred times in a hundred different books, websites, pictures and even video, and I'm pretty sure it's not going to change. I am more interested in reading about actually taking care of this little munchkin. That is what peaks my curiosity. I have taken care of babies and children before so I might fair better then Tyler at first, but that is the information I seek out. At this stage in my pregnancy, Baby J is kind of just getting bigger so to read the week by week account of what he is doing kind of bores me. It's not boring because it's still really cool to feel it in there moving and squirming and knowing that it's an actual human life is certainly not boring. But when the information doesn't change much, I have to find other things to read.
Tyler joined me after he played some hockey video game and after talking about our day for a bit, we both fell asleep. It was about 10pm at this point. Kitten was being a turkey at around 5 this morning. Apparently Tyler could hear her jumping on and off the counter because in all her grace, she landed on the plates and made a big noise. I didn't wake up to that but I guess she kept Tyler awake from 5 am on. I did wake up when she walked all over me and was purring up a storm. I tried to prevent her from bugging him, but she was on a mission. I watched as she climbed all over him and then settled on his pillow, basically making a halo above Tyler's head. It was really funny but Tyler soon threw her off. He wasn't having any of that. She just wouldn't leave him alone all morning. Once Tyler's alarm went off this morning, we were both sure she would be sleeping somewhere as she was awake all morning. But, as soon as Tyler came out of the shower, she was talking loudly to him all morning. She is so cute. It's really fun for me to lay in bed and listen to her just meow up a storm as Tyler ignores her. She doesn't want or need anything but she pretends like she does. Maybe she is gearing us up for our newest family member. I have heard that babies sometimes just make noise and can't be quieted, so this is good practice for us.
I stayed in bed for a while after Tyler left for work. I find that on days where the weather sucks I just don't feel like getting out of bed and I feel more tired the whole day. Probably the lack of the sun drug, vitamin D. I did eventually get up and start my day. I made my granola mixture and watched out for the deck cats. They weren't there and I knew they wouldn't be all day because of the rain. I played on the computer for a short time, did the dishes and started cross stitching. I got hungry again at around 12 which usually doesn't happen because granola is very filling, so I made myself some lunch. I had leftover soup and it was great once again. That recipe is definitely going to be one that I make on days when Baby J hasn't stopped crying all day and I need something quick and easy to make for dinner. Or it's a meal that Tyler can easily cook once he gets home from work because it only took about 20 minutes to throw together. I might also have to make a batch and freeze it for those crazy days as well.
After Tyler left for work again after lunch, I cross stitched some more and then plugged in a movie. It was more for background noise as I worked out for an hour or so. After completing the workout, I sat down and cross stitched. This project was supposed to last me until we left in December but that's not going to happen. I anticipate it will be done within 3 weeks or less. Good thing I have found a few other projects to do while cleaning up the linen closet.
We had salmon for dinner so I didn't have to start heating that up until closer to Tyler's return from work. And since he is on call this week, I usually have no idea if he will be home at 5 or not. I put the fish in the oven and started on some rice. I wasn't really looking forward to dinner because I had salmon on the weekend and didn't feel so great later that night. Once Tyler got home, dinner was ready and we sat down to enjoy it.
The thing I really hate about winter is that it is so dark so early. While enjoying dinner, we always enjoy our view as well but now that it's dark at 4:30, all we see is reflection. Dinner was really good. The salmon had been previously smoked so it is incredibly salty which means that there is a limit to how much I can actually stomach. I'm not a huge fan of salty food but it was a really good meal.
Right as we were finishing dinner, we heard a small meow coming from outside. At first we couldn't see anything and I was afraid TK was down on the rocks again. We shut off the lights and Tyler saw her on the deck, followed by Calico. We had planned on giving the remaining salmon to them so I brought the warm dish outside. TK gave me the longest cutest meow and it melted my heart. I put the dish down and TK was soon sitting right in it enjoying some food. I hope it also warmed her up a bit.
Most of our few tv channels have been knocked out so Tyler is playing his hockey video game again. He has already studied a bit today so I'm thinking this is the plan for the rest of the night - video games and cross stitching. I can't believe how dark it is outside right now. I feel like it's the middle of the night, which I guess I'm going to be seeing a lot of in the next few months.
Baby J is rocking and rolling inside my belly right now. Still the coolest thing ever!!! I have found that I don't move at all at night and I always lay on my side. When I wake up and look down my stomach, it's always lopsided. It's so funny. I can also feel Baby a lot better then because it's not hiding deep inside my stomach.

All this talk about cross-stitching makes me motivated to finish my project Sonja! I love hearing about this Tiny Kitten...it's nice you have animals around other than whales! And agreed - it is much too dark much too early! Hope you have a great day - and I hope your internet holds up!
