November 17, 2011

Right now, Tyler is laying on the floor and I'm pretty sure he is asleep.  He studied a bit tonight and when the Oiler game wouldn't load properly, he got himself a blanket and pillow and laid on the floor in front of the heater.  I decided not to bother him about writing the blog tonight because I'm assuming on top of being cold, he is also very tired.

My day went as follows:  Tyler's alarm went off and he got out of bed while I rolled over and went back to sleep.  Tyler soon kissed me goodbye and he was off to work.  I wasn't able to sleep much longer because I'm fairly certain a practice for River Dance was going on upstairs.  That guy has no sense of being quiet.  Tyler and I have schemed up many plots to get him to hush up, one of those plans being putting shoes on broom sticks and stomping on the roof.  We don't think it would have the same effect though so we haven't done it yet.

I got out of bed and was joined by Kitten on the couch.  I took her cone off even though I know Tyler always takes it off while he is home, but she still had to clean.  She also wouldn't leave me alone if I don't help her out so it's just easier to submit to her meows.  I surfed the internet while my granola cooled in the fridge.  The thing about the internet is that there is nothing interesting on it.  There are a million websites to look at but nothing interesting on any of them.  I got bored quickly and went to eat my breakfast.  I watched a bit of tv while fending off Kitten from my milk and decided that I wanted to do a bit of cleaning today.  We tend to stick papers and pretty much everything we don't have a place for on top of our tv stand so it's gotten really crowded up there.  I took everything off, dusted, threw out anything that was garbage and put a few pictures back up.  It looks way better now and I'm glad I did it.

I did the dishes and then Tyler came home.  He had leftovers for lunch and we enjoyed some conversation and watched the noon news.  He was off again soon though and I was left to figure out how I wanted my afternoon to be.  I kind of wanted to clean more but there isn't much else to clean around here.  Tomorrow I plan on vacuuming but that only takes about 5-10 minutes (the beauty of living in a small apartment).  Maybe I'll also do laundry so that our Saturday isn't filled with household chores.

I prepared dinner and cross stitched and also sent away a few emails.  I was getting really tired towards 3:30 and I decided I would head to the store.  The original plan was to wait for Tyler to get home and we would go together, but I figured he wouldn't really want to head out after just getting home.  I headed out and found that there was slush on the path and roads.  I had to walk slowly because my shoes have no grips on them and I don't want to fall, I am carrying precious cargo after all.  I made it to the store and found the bacon and I also picked up some milk.  We don't need milk right now as we still have about a liter left but I hate going to the store on grocery day and there not being any milk.  This new milk doesn't expire until the 26th so I just had to buy some.

As I was paying for the items, I was having a conversation with the check out lady.  It's interesting being in this town because everyone knows us and yet, I usually don't know or can't remember anyones name. They talk to me like we have known each other for years and yet a lot of the time, I have no idea who they are.  I am getting better though so that's a plus.

I got home and started to cook dinner.  We had Tyler's favorite - buffalo chicken pizza.  The dough was looking like it was going to turn out perfectly for me but then when I was kneading it one more time, it all stuck to my hands like glue.  It always disappoints me when my dough doesn't work out because Tyler looks so forward to eating pizza and I feel like I let his hopes down when the dough doesn't rise at all.  Tyler got home from work and helped assemble the pizza and put it in the oven.  While it cooked, he studied and I did the dishes that accumulated from making dinner.

Dinner was done and we sat down to eat.  It wasn't the worst pizza ever but the dough wasn't very fluffy.  We enjoyed some good conversation.  Tyler inhaled his pizza and was soon going after what I had left on my plate.  He went to the window and pretended the deck cats were out there to try and lure me away from my plate.  When he got to the window, both Calico and TK were really out there.  It made us laugh because he was only joking at first and they were actually out there.  I gave them some of their own supper and watched them eat.  I do love those cats.  They are so cute.

After dinner, Tyler studied a bit more while I cross stitched.  We were waiting for the Oiler game to start so we could watch it on the internet.  Tyler couldn't find a good feed so we were stuck to just listening to it on the radio.  And then we started losing pretty badly and just turned it off.  That was when Tyler headed down to the floor and promptly fell asleep.  He just woke up now and looks so exhausted.  Poor guy.  Too bad it's his most favorite night for tv watching.  2 of our favorite shows are on so he wont let himself go to bed yet.

I got a special treat this morning in the form of more snow.  It snowed off and on all day long.  I just love that.  Also, Baby J was doing more dance moves and I watched my belly roll and toss and turn.  It's so cool.  I've been thinking about what it will look like and I have no idea what the combination of Tyler and I would be.  I find that a lot of married people look alike to begin with so their kids look like a slight variation of either parent.  But I don't really see that in Tyler and I.  I feel like we have very different faces so I'm very interested to see who this kid comes out looking like.  Also, both our genes are pretty strong so it's going to be a bit of a competition for Baby J.  I can't wait to see.
