16 weeks!!

Yesterday, Baby Jarrett turned 16 weeks.  Baby J is approximately 4.3 to 4.6 inches long and weights 2.8 ounces.  I read it is the size of an avocado.  Baby j can grasp, kick and summersault.  I have felt some tiny movements right below my belly button and I'm convinced it's this little tyke.  It's pretty exciting to feel that, if it is in fact our baby.

Last night was a tough night.  Tyler got called into work twice, once at 10:30 and then again at 4.  Not that it really affects me because I can sleep through the morning, but I felt sorry for Tyler.  He had to get up at 8 today to be in at work by 9.  I didn't hear the alarm at all and was surprised when Tyler came to give me his goodbye kiss before heading off to work.

After I got out of bed, I ate some breakfast.  I did a bit of internet surfing, did the dishes and soon enough Tyler came home for lunch.  It was a gorgeous day and I was looking forward to going for a walk finally.  It's been so miserable here weather-wise that I've been feeling really cooped up, so it was awesome to finally get out of the house.

I went for a walk and then paid the internet bill.  Since it was so nice, there were many people outside so that was good to see.

At about 3, I got a call from the RCMP and they needed a guard.  I was told that it could be until midnight or earlier, it depended on a meeting they were having with the prisoner.  I was excited to come home early because that's better then spending a whole evening babysitting someone who doesn't know how to follow their probation conditions.  I was lucky to come home at 8.  Tyler had just finished studying so now we are enjoying our time together.

We are eating dinner.  Tyler is chowing down popcorn and I've got a small plate of nachos.  I've been looking forward to it pretty much all afternoon.

Also, the power went out for no reason today.  It's pretty strange to live in a place where the power can go off even on the nicest day of the month.  That made guarding a little more difficult too, as the cell block was pitch black and the cameras didn't work, and our generator didn't power up right away.  The power came back on about an hour later and everything was fine again.

I'm home now and it's great.
