Home

Last night was really windy and rainy.  I was woken up by the cat three times and not by my phone ringing which is kinda too bad because I do enjoy the money.  I got up and it was still windy and rainy outside.  Quite different from the day that was yesterday.  The morning went by pretty slow.  I came home at lunch and noticed that little white flakes blowing around in the wind.  It turned out to be trying to snow.  We were able to watch the snow storm come across the channel and then eventually hit us.  Within the hour for lunch the ground was already white and about half an inch of snow.  It snows hard and heavy out here.

With the change in weather it was a further deterrent for people to come in to get their blood work done.  So the afternoon went by slower than the morning did.  Around 3:30 the power went out with all the snow fall this afternoon.  The TV and internet was out before that happened so we were not able to connect to our networks or do any x-rays.  However the hospital has a generator and I had to stay at work, unlike Sonja who got to go home when the power went out.  She was excited because she was going to DDR, but I reminded her we had no power because our apartment isn't connected to the hospital generator.  The power was out for a couple hours.  It came back on around five.  It cooled off pretty quickly in our place because we have electric baseboard heaters and drafts at all the windows so it doesn't take long to cool off.  Sonja was curled up under three blankets and was still cold.

The power went out again around 7:30 for a half hour or so.  We started some candles to give a little bit of light.  It came back on shortly after.

There was probably an inch to inch and a half of snow now that all is said and done.  It reminds me of home considering it was looking like it won't snow here all winter.  I might be off to Ocean Falls tomorrow for the day, depending on the weather.  We'll see what happens.

Oh yeah its one month until we come home for Christmas.
