September 23, 2012

This has been a really great weekend.  It's the first weekend that Tyler didn't have to hide himself away in our room to study while Ryan and I had a great time in the living room.  It's been so awesome to have Tyler done school.  Tyler doesn't know what to do with himself though.  I keep asking him what program he will take next just to fill his time but he's adamant that he's done with schooling for now.

Yesterday was a lazy day around here.  We played with Ryan and ended the day with a pretty good movie.  We watched "The Grey" which is basically like a horror movie but with wolves as the bad guys.  It was pretty good even though it actually wasn't that good.  I kind of don't really remember what else happened yesterday so that's all I have to say about that.

Today didn't start that great but it was another awesome day.  Ryan had me out of bed by 6:15 am and I was tired.  I wish there was something I could do to make him sleep more but I didn't sleep lots as a baby either so maybe that has something to do with his "problems".  He goes to bed good most of the time but then wakes up about 4 hours later wide awake and ready to play some more.  It's frustrating because he usually wakes up right as I crawl into bed, exhausted from the day.  Weekends are good because Tyler is up with me so I'm not thinking about him all warm in the bed, sleeping nicely while I'm out in the living room with the Ry.

Tyler got up at about 7:15 and told me to go back to bed.  I slept for maybe an hour and then I joined them.  I could hear them laughing and giggling and I hate to miss out on the fun times with my family.  We enjoyed some breakfast and then played.  Ryan napped and Tyler and I got some alone time which we used to either read a magazine or cross stitch.

Once Ryan woke up, we had plans to eat lunch and go for a walk to the airport.  We packed Ryan up in his carrier but the weather didn't agree with us.  It looked like it was going to rain and we didn't want to be stuck out in that weather with Ryan.  So we headed to the store instead.  We ran into our upstairs neighbor and she said that there isn't anything unloaded yet.  Apparently, the store has been getting lazy and they don't unpack their food until Sunday afternoon and Monday morning.  It's frustrating enough that we have to pay outrageous prices for food but to have it not unloaded when we need it to.  I find that unacceptable.  Being the only grocery in town, they should have their stuff together enough to have their food unloaded for Sunday afternoon.  But, I'm not running this town so I'll try not to complain too much about it.  We got a few food items and headed back home.  We picked up our turkey for Thanksgiving which is exciting.

We had Ryan sleeping but he's awake now, kind of crying and making noise in his crib.  And we have no other plans for the evening besides trying to get Ryan back to sleep.

Done

Well I'm done!!  My test was on Tuesday and I feel that it went pretty well.  It was a whirlwind trip to Vancouver for me.  It started on Monday I went to the airport at 9:45 for my 11:20 flight.  We didn't want Sonja taking me to the to interfere with Ryan's nap.  I got into the building and was immediately told that the flight had been delayed due to fog in Port Hardy.  It was perfectly clear and sunny here so it sucked to be delayed because of the weather somewhere else.  So I waited.  I had wanted to be in Vancouver on time because I had some things I wanted to do.  But I didn't actually get to Vancouver until after 4:30, three hours delayed.  I wanted to go to a movie and do some final reviewing Monday afternoon before taking an easy evening to ready myself for the big day.

I however wasn't able to sleep much that night.  And 5:30 came early when I woke up to roll over and then my brain wouldn't turn off.  So I watched some news and relaxed as best as I could.  6:30 came and so did the continental breakfast, so I went to gets some eats.  My exam location was 3 kms away and I was walking around Burnaby, so I left around 7 to get there in plenty of time.  I managed to finish my test in just over 2 hours.  Then it was back to the hotel and an afternoon of doing what I wanted to do.

I had a list of things to pick up so after lunch I went to the mall to accomplish everything on that list.  It ranged from bath soap for Ryan, new work shoes that hopefully won't be uncomfortable, as well as getting new cell phone plans.  It was a very busy time walking around the mall trying to track everything down.  I finally got everything and took it back to my room and called Sonja.  After I looked at the time and decided it was time for a movie.  I went to Lawless.  It was a pretty great movie. After the movie I went back to my room for the night.  I wasn't able get to sleep for what ever reason.  So it was after midnight again by the time I fell asleep.

6 again came early as my flight was to leave Vancouver at 8:30.  I again went for a quick breakfast and then it was to the skytrain to get to the airport.  By the time I got to main terminal at Vancouver I just missed the shuttle to the south terminal.  The next shuttle wouldn't have got me to the south terminal until 8:25, cutting it a little bit close.  So I took a cab in order to get to my flight on time.  I got to the counter and again fog up here.  So there's $20 down the drain as I could have waited for the shuttle and not paid anything.  The weather updates kept coming every hour and there wasn't a good one until 12:20.  We took off about 12:30 and in Bella Bella at 2:30.  It was nice to get back home and see Sonja and Ryan.  Ryan was giving Sonja a tough time.  I think he missed me.

Today was kind of a boring day at work as I had no studying to do to fill my time.  It is nice to have all the time I was spending studying to do something else, like writing blogs again, or actually relaxing.

September 16, 2012

Today was a good day.  The weather was amazing and my little family was all together.  Ryan kick started the day as he always does, bright and early at 6:30am.  He was kicking and stirring and I managed to keep him subdued for about an hour before he was actually wide awake.  He doesn't really like our billowy blanket because he can't sit up so Tyler got up with him.  Ryan got changed and I stayed in bed for a few more minutes because my eyes wouldn't open.  I rolled out of bed and joined my 2 boys in the living room.

Tyler fed Ryan his oatmeal and fruit gruel while I ate my own granola and peanut butter mixture.  After that, we played with Ryan.  That is always the best part of the day.  I love it when we all get to spend time together.  We always have a great time.  Ryan plays with his silly toys, we read books together and Ryan crawls to all the places he's not supposed to.  He loves to pull on cords and open drawers and try to stand up.  He is just so cute as he proudly stands up against a shelf or chair.

Ryan went down for a 2 hour nap so Tyler studied and I worked on a few crafty projects I have on the go.  I also watched some episodes of ER, which happens to be my favorite show.

Tyler went to his work to do a practice test and Ryan woke up.  I fed him lunch, which is usually mushed up veggies and potatoes.  We then played some more on the floor.  He is just all over the place.  He loves crawling and screaming and playing with his books and toys.  Tyler came home and joined us.

Soon, we decided to go for a walk since Ryan was awake and Tyler was done his school work for the day.  We packed up Ryan in a backpack and headed out.  We were going to go to the ferry terminal to see if the salmon were still running but we didn't make it that far.  Ryan started falling asleep so we headed home again.  I didn't want to him to sleep the whole walk because then his whole evening routine would be messed up.  We went to the store to get our fresh produce, only to find mostly empty shelves.  I'll have to go back some time to get the fruit and veggies.

We got back home and did some more playing.  Did I mention that Ry is extra cute!!!  All the new things he is learning just makes him better and better.

Ryan went to sleep and now Tyler and I are getting so much needed down time.  We are watching a movie which is something we haven't had time to do in a long time.

Tyler leaves for Vancouver tomorrow morning.  He writes his test Tuesday morning and spends the rest of that day doing whatever he wants.  I think he will go see a movie and enjoy a nice celebratory meal.  He will finally be done his MRI training on Tuesday and we all can't wait!  It's so fun to think about all the time we will get to spend together now that he wont have to study all the time.  He will get time to himself again.  It's very exciting to think about.

I'm about to eat an orange.

Ryan Crawling

This is what Ryan has been up to the last couple days.  He just can't get enough of the cats water.  We will need to find a new place to feed and water her so Ryan doesn't end up soaking wet every twenty minutes.  He is going to be a handful when he gets going some more.

I have been busy studying hard the last couple weeks and am getting ready for it all to be over.  I leave for Vancouver on Monday to write my exam on Tuesday.  When it is all over I can relax for the first time in almost two years.  It is something to look forward to for sure.

September 13, 2012

So we have been back in Bella Bella now for 2 weeks and it's been an adjustment.  I knew it would be but I was thinking more about Ryan adjusting to the new time zone and new bedroom and environment, not thinking about how I would have to adjust as well.  I had a tough time being away from my family because I got to see my sisters and Madi and Cameron a lot during the summer.  It was just tougher then I thought it would be to be away from everyone.  I had gotten so use to being apart from everyone before the summer, and then I got use to being close to everyone during the summer.  Now, I have to get use to being apart again and that's tougher then I thought it would be.  I'm doing a lot better now that things are getting into some sort of a routine.

Ryan is just growing and doing so well.  He has 2 teeth now, both on the bottom and he can crawl.  He is such a stinker!  Ryan will only crawl when there is water on the other end of the deal.  He is so cute when he does it.  We have a video of it which Tyler will get up on the internet as some point.

Tyler has been studying like a crazy person for the past 2 months and it all pays off on Tuesday.  He goes down to Vancouver on Monday, writes his test Tuesday morning and comes home again Wednesday.  I think he might sleep for a week afterwards.  I'm so proud of him for working so hard at this.  He is an all-star!!!

There isn't too much else to talk about.  Our days are usually all the same.  Ryan wakes up at 6:30 every morning no matter how many times he woke up the night before.  He takes his first nap at 9:30 and sleeps for 2 hours.  This past week, he's been going to bed at 5 and sleeping most of the night.  He squawks every 2 hours and I feed him and he goes right to sleep again.  On Monday, he woke up for 2 hours at 1 am.  On Tuesday, he woke up at 3am for 2 hours.  This morning, Ryan woke up at 5 for the day.  It's tough not getting the right amount of sleep.  But it's worth it because Ryan is such a sweet little boy.  He is the love of our lives and we are so blessed to be his parents.

That's all for now.
