A good day!

Today was a good day but I'm not sure it will come across as one.  

We both woke up when Kitty jumped down from the fridge onto a stack of plates and made a big noise.  I didn't get up right away and I'm not sure why.  Kitty was making some sad sounding meows and I think that's when Tyler got out of bed to see if she was okay.  She was and he soon came back to bed.  I thought this happened in the middle of the night but it turns out it was around 7am.  We both fell back asleep for a bit and then Tyler got out of bed to go study.  It's nice when I get to sleep through that.  I don't really mind when he has to study all day but it's nice when I am asleep for it.  Yesterday I was a little grumpy because Tyler had to study all day so I was kind of stuck doing nothing by myself all day long.  But this morning, by the time I got up, he was mostly finished.

We spent part of the morning just lazing around, stitching and studying.  We had to go to the store to get some milk so we got dressed and headed out to the store.  We kind of knew it was a futile effort because as we were walking to the store, the food trailers weren't even open yet.  I had hope though.  We entered the store and saw what we were expecting - empty shelves.  There was a ton of junk food and an entire giant box of pumpkins.  We were laughing because there seemed to be an outrageous amount of pumpkins for the small town of Bella Bella.  And these were some giant pumpkins, probably really good for carving and even pies.  

Once we got home from our little grocery trip, Tyler studied a bit more while I worked on my project.  Tyler then left for work to go take his test.  He got 100% on it so all that time studying was well worth it.  Too bad it was only a little quiz, but he still did really good on it.  I continued on my project.

We went back to the store around 3ish and found that the store was more stocked than before.We got our milk and was surprised to find that the big bin of pumpkins was almost empty.  I guess people are really into halloween around here.

All throughout the day, we have been boiling water to drink and to wash dishes with.  The problem is that in order to get the water to not be contaminated with whatever the problem is, we have to boil it for at least a minute.  Usually that's not a problem because we just let it sit and cool down before we put it into drinking containers.  But pouring boiling hot water into the sink for dishes makes it tough to do the dishes right away.  We had to wait a good 45 minutes before it was cool enough to get our hands in there.  That kind of killed the motivation to actually do the dishes but we pushed through and did that lovely chore.

We have been eating kind of all day and had nachos with salsa at a time when we would normally be eating dinner.  I know it's not the greatest meal and we will both be hungry again in about 2 hours, but it was good.  And it's always nice when there aren't a million more dishes after dinner is done.  

Our evening has been spent doing nothing because that's the way we wanted to spend the rest of the day.  Tyler was cuddling with Kitten for a while before he called his parents.  It's been a really nice day together.
