Exhausted
Morning came far to soon for me and it was back to the grind and I got out of bed and ready for work. I drug myself to work and start the day. It was pretty slow day this morning. My boss came back to work today so that means that I am no longer on call. It's been a long month for me on call. I have been on call for 21 days this month. It's been a long haul. So I can finally relax not worrying about the phone tonight.
The rest of the day was also pretty slow until about 3:30. It picked up a little bit, but it wasn't too bad. I was still able to come home on time. Sonja had planned on needing whip cream for a meal this week. So we had bought some on Saturday. Looking at the recipe this afternoon, Sonja realized that we forgot to buy some of the ingredients. So we decided to make a chocolate pie in order to use up our whip cream that we no longer needed. It also was due to expire tomorrow so we wanted to use it up. I went into work and a few minutes later I got a text from Sonja telling me that our whip cream was actually 2% milk and Sonja had already started to make the pie crust. So when I came home and Sonja and I went to the store to replace our 'whipped cream'.
I made up the chocolate pie filling and we made some supper. It was simple. Just pasta and sauce. But it was good. After supper we watched last nights episode of Dexter. After Dexter we went for a walk around town since it wasn't raining and there were no clouds out.
We came back home to enjoy our warm house as it was kind of cool outside.

Saturday, October 29, 2011
We got home and I made some biscuits for breakfast/lunch. They turned out much better this time around than the last time I tried to make them. So I had probably 5 or 6 biscuits that kept me full for most of the day. Around 2:30 I got pretty tired and went to take a nap. I slept for about 45 minutes and then Sonja woke me up. I didn't want to sleep all day so I drug myself out of bed again and rejoined Sonja in the living room. We just kinda snacked and had leftovers for supper.
We we invited to a halloween appetizer party tonight, so we went up there for 7 and had some finger foods and such. We were up there for 2 hours or so. They were all going over to Shearwater for the annual halloween bash that they hold over there. We came back home and watched some of the Eskimo game.
Pretty relaxing day and night and we will be off to bed soon.

Friday
Tyler got up for work while I stayed in bed. I got out of bed at 9 and ate a really tasty breakfast. I've been eating granola with melted peanut butter all mixed together. It's tasty, it's filling and it's easy.
After eating, I did the dishes while watching Kitten race around the house. I'm not sure why she does that, but I sure do love watching. It's so funny because she will also growl and bark as she takes off. What a little stinker. Once dishes were done, I read my devotional and then played on the computer. I also worked out and waited for Tyler to come home for lunch.
Tyler came home and was gone again an hour later. His day hadn't been too exciting so he had lots of time to do all the boring stuff that needs to be done, like ordering supplies.
I spent the afternoon cross stitching, playing with Kitten, making dinner and just enjoying the day. I made scalloped potatoes for the meal but I wanted to be able to just put it in the oven when I needed, so I made the dish right after Tyler left for work. It was pretty easy to make.
When Tyler came home, we popped a ham in the oven and went out for a walk. It had been raining on and off all day long and we managed to get outside while it wasn't raining. We got back home and I realized that walk took all the energy out of me. I was so tired. And the potatoes were a little over cooked and the ham was incredibly salty, but dinner was really good. And we now have leftovers for tomorrow. While we were sitting there, we watched as rain came across the channel and drenched everything. We then watched as it stopped. It's really cool to see that very obvious waves of rain.
Our evening has been uneventful. With me being so tired, we haven't done anything tonight. Also, about an hour after dinner, I got so hungry so I found myself a little treat to eat and Tyler also made popcorn. We are keeping track of the Oiler game while watching a show on tv. It will be early to bed for us as we are both super tired and looking forward to a good night sleep.
I had a doctors appointment yesterday which went well. I got to hear the heartbeat again, 140 beats per minute just like every other time. I love feeling this little person move and kick. It's the best part of my day.

500
At lunch I came home and had lunch with Sonja. She had spent the morning doing dishes, showering and taking pictures of our deck cats. I had a sandwich and Sonja just ate some toast and peanut butter. Lunch hour goes too quickly, especially when you are the only one around and have to be back to get samples sent out and such.
The afternoon was more like the morning. All I ran was one sample from Klemtu. It was pretty boring. So I got more of my online training done and finished it up. By 4 I was just wrapping up and getting ready to come home.
When I got home Sonja was watching Parks and Recreation on DVD. It was close to supper time and I was hungry. We weren't really sure what we were going to eat. So we had some leftovers and Sonja had some French toast.
After supper I tried to study but the internet didn't want me too. So instead we took the cats cone off and I spent a half hour tormenting her. She was pretty mad and dejected. But she cut my hand up pretty good.
There is an Oiler game on tonight on TSN so we are watching that. It has been pretty good. It's nice to watch good hockey for a team you actually care about. The Oilers are up 2-1 going into the third period.

Rainy morning
At around 4 this morning, we were both awakened by howling wind and pounding rain. It was actually pretty crazy and once again I was glad we weren't on the top floor. If that tree outside were to fall over (and I was convinced it was going to), we would be safe. That would also take care of our upstairs neighbor who likes to drive his heels into the floor with each step he takes. He is very very loud up there and I can't wait for him to be gone (and by gone, I mean moved out. I don't actually wish the tree would fall on him). But as I was saying, the weather was just crazy last night and it was like that until around 8.
Tyler got up and went to work in the rain. He said later that the rain stopped about 10 minutes after he arrived at work and had to spend the first half of the day with wet pants. That's never fun. But, I got out of bed around 9ish and did my morning routine. I ate some granola mixed with peanut butter and milk while reading my devotional book. Calico cat and her kitten were sitting pretty in the hotel tote so I gave them a bit of food and watched from the window. I love those cats but I know I shouldn't get even more attached to them then I already am. It's getting hopeless because they are always on our deck now.
When Tyler came home for lunch, he pointed out that Calico had caught her kitten lunch too. I looked outside and right there on our deck, that kitten was chowing down on a dead bird. It would have been cute if it wasn't also super gross at the same time. And now there are bird parts out there, like a bird leg and I think half a wing. I already told Tyler I wont be cleaning that up. Tyler said that bird was probably a gift for us for putting them up in our hotel for so long.
My afternoon was spent reading the majority of my book, watching Calico and her kitten, watching Kitten sleep in the bassinet that she's not supposed to be in, snacking on bits of fruit and veggies and going to the bathroom. This baby is growing so much and my bladder has less and less space to be a normal bladder. Maybe that's too much information but it was part of my day. I'm about 8 pages away from the end of my book and I'll probably get it done tonight.
I started on dinner before Tyler came home and it was done right when he got home. Tonight we had nacho meatballs with cheese sauce and rice. And I'm not going to lie, it was so good. I couldn't believe how good they were. I'm turning into a pretty good cook when I have a recipe that tastes good. I have to laugh at people when they say they don't know how to cook. That statement is kind of bogus and yes, I have said it back when I lived at home. But now that I have to do all the cooking, it's not that tough. And it's really not that tough to follow a recipe.
After dinner, Tyler started studying and I continued to read. We then went for a walk around town because the weather calmed down.
And now we are home. Tyler is playing on his phone and I'm just blogging. Kitten is probably sleeping in her bassinet again. It will probably be early to bed yet again for us tonight.

I got out of bed and almost fell asleep before doing that. I got into the shower and continued to wake myself up. I sat down with the cat meowing at me so I took her cone off and ate my breakfast. Going to work the sun was up and it was looking like it could be a good day.
I was kinda busy in the morning. I had a few people come in and kept me moving. But soon enough I was all caught up and it was time for coffee. I spent the hour and a half after coffee doing little things in the lab. I printed off some more labels our binders. It wasn't very exciting, but kept me busy until lunch.
I came home at lunch and had some leftover pizza. I over ate but it was good and well worth doing it. Lunch seemed to go to quickly and before I knew it, it was time to go back into work. The afternoon was pretty uneventful. I was able to do some studying, as well as other little things before Kate comes back on Monday. Just before coming home I had a mini-rush. Just and xray and a couple other things to do.
I came home just after 4:30 and found that supper was ready to be eaten. We had one dish enchilada. It was really good. After supper we went for a quick walk before the sun was gone completely and it cooled down. We came back in a settled in for the hockey game. Edmonton is playing Vancouver, which means that we are able to watch it on TV. The second game in a row we can watch without worrying about our internet connection. We also get to watch one on Thursday. Currently the Oilers are winning 3-2 with 8 minutes left. Probably to bed kind of early, because I am still really tired.

Beautiful Beautiful
Once in bed, we both fell asleep right away. And then at about 4:00 am this morning, a text came through on Tyler's phone. I heard it right away but Tyler didn't stir so I just left it. I knew what the text said even without reading it. Our good friends are expecting their first baby any day now and Tyler has made sure that we get one of the first notifying texts that they are either on their way to the hospital or that their baby boy has been born. The phone buzzed a second time and this time, Tyler heard it. It said that our friends were on their way to the hospital, so that it's fun. And then we went back to sleep.
Tyler is on call and he is the only one working this next week, so he had to get up early this morning. I'm thinking it was tough for Tyler to get up, seeing how he got less then 6 hours of sleep. I had a good morning because I didn't have to get up. It's not too hard to figure that one out. Before Tyler left for work, he said that our friends didn't actually have their baby last night. Just a false alarm.
I got up and out of bed around 10 am. I enjoyed some Special K for breakfast while reading my devotional book. This week, we bought a 4 liter jug of milk instead of the usual 2 2 liter jugs. The reason I tell you this is because usually I can judge how much milk I'm drinking based on if 1 2 liter jug is done by Tuesday. I have a tendency of drinking a lot of milk and then being sad when Thursday comes and there is no more milk for me. So, this week it will be a little harder to determine if I'm on the right track or if I have to slow down. We will see how it turns out.
I enjoyed the morning, doing dishes and doing a load of laundry. Yesterday, after all the chores were done, Tyler decided to clean up his corner of the room, which translates into a laundry basket full of clothes. I didn't wash them originally because he didn't wear most of what was on the floor so I figured he had plans of wearing them again. So I did that load today.
Tyler came home from work and then was pretty much gone again. His lunches don't seem to last too long. I started on dinner right away. Pizza was on the menu and last time I made the dough, it really didn't do too much. It didn't rise at all and that made me sad. I wasn't sure how this would turn out. I followed the instructions on the back of the yeast jar and it turned out great. I could tell right away when I was kneading that dough that it was going to be perfect.
After putting the dough in a warm place, I started to read a book that I started this weekend. It's called "Survivor" and it's kind of the strangest book I have ever read. I wont even try to explain why but if you have read it, you know what I'm talking about. I look up from my book to see Calico staring at me through the window. So I got her some food and then had to leave the living room. I hate being looked at by that cute cat. It makes me sad that I can't show her the love I do my own cat. I went and folded some laundry instead. She was gone when I was done.
I started to assemble the rest of the pizza and then popped it into the oven. I continued to read my book until Tyler came home from work. He was late but that's to be expected when he's on call. We ate kind of right away and it was so good. We both ate so much and I wasn't feeling so good. I was looking forward to a walk after. Tyler had to study a bit more and then write a test before we did anything else.
By the time he was done his test, it was raining and we headed out onto the town. It was chilly and Tyler got cold right away. He cut his hair this weekend so it's pretty short and therefore not keeping any heat in. We walked around town and came home. Tyler realized that our internet was messing with his test and it hadn't been submitted like it was supposed to. He went up to Kendra's place to borrow her internet to send. While he was gone, Calico showed up again. It broke my heart again because I know she just wants to come inside and play with our Kitty. I heated up a blanket up for her and her hotel room. She isn't in there, but at least I did what I could to make her comfortable.
The weather was on and off all day long. One minute it was pouring rain and you couldn't see across the channel, and the next minute there was blue sky and rainbows every where. It was madness.
Our evening is going to be similar to what we do every night. We have an episode of Dexter to watch and then it will be off to bed. We are both really tired so I'm looking forward to getting into bed.
Baby J has just been a little mover today. I love it. I can't believe it's already as big as it is. And that I'm getting bigger and bigger. It's so fun. I can even see baby move on the outside now. Tyler doesn't believe me because every time I tell him to look, baby stops moving. What a stinker. I love it.

Lazy day
We were able to get the rest of our list that we missed yesterday. We came back and again it started to rain pretty hard. It turns out that we went to the store in the only 30 minutes that it wasn't pouring out. We got home and made some lunch and unpacked our groceries. We had grilled cheese sandwiches and I had some soup because I was cold and Sonja was hot so the heat was turned off.
The rest of the afternoon was pretty relaxed. Just sat around reading. Around 4 I got a call from work. I went in and quickly did an ankle x-ray. I came home and Sonja was watching a wildlife rescue show and I joined her.
The rest of the afternoon just passed by uneventfully.
We will be trying to watch Oil Change again tonight as it is supposed to be on at 11:30 tonight.

Saturday!
Tyler got out of bed before I did and I think he studied until I joined him. I didn't stay in bed for much longer though. I was already awake and Kitten busted through the door so now there was light coming in. I got out of bed and Tyler was sitting on the couch, studying in the dark. The day started with rain and it pretty much rained all day long so the day was shrouded in darkness.
I ate some breakfast while Tyler studied. I did the dishes and folded some laundry while Tyler did some more studying. I wasn't as disappointed today that Tyler was going to study all day because I was prepared for it. He told me that that was his plan so I was geared up for it. And it turns out that once I was done with all the household chores, Tyler was done studying. So I didn't have to spend another day by myself so that was just awesome.
Our day wasn't super exciting but it was nice to spend it with Tyler. We made our menu and although Tyler was writing down which page the recipe came from, he neglected to add any of the needed ingredients to the grocery list until I reminded him to do so. What a guy! It made us laugh. We then went to the store, knowing full well that we have to go back tomorrow for milk and a few of the fresher items.
Tyler had to go into work a few times today, so I watched a bit of afternoon hockey and cross stitched. We had plans to go visit Jan and Carl this afternoon but then Tyler got called into work, so those plans were delayed by half hour.
Tyler came home and we headed out to their place. It was a great visit too. We haven't seen them since before we were home in September and they are our good friends. They have a 9 month old baby boy who is just the biggest kid I have ever seen. He has grown so much since I saw him last. We watched some hockey and enjoyed some pizza together. I was getting tired so we came home.
Jan and Carl have been nice enough to give us a lot of their old baby stuff. Today we took home a rocking bassinet and a snugli baby carrier. They are super generous. They are the ones who have given us a big bag of baby clothes when we first found out we were having a baby. So we put this swinging bassinet in the living room and our current baby climbed right on in. Kitten made herself at home right away. Although at first, she would try to stand in it and with her trying to balance herself, it makes the bassinet rock back and forth. She doesn't like that and it makes her try to balance herself even more, which just makes it rock even more. It was really funny. She had enough of that and hoped out. But now she is laying in there once again, all calmed down. I think she has found her new sleeping spot. We know we shouldn't let her in there because our baby will be in there and I don't want them to share it, but it's just way too cute. I took many pictures.
Also, Calico cat came back and has been sleeping in our kitten hotel. We haven't been hearing her baby meowing all day so that's nice. I don't know what happened to him, but it's nice to not have to hear him cry for his mom. Calico showed up when we came home. She was standing up on her tote and Kitten was sniffing at the window.
So, now that the Oiler's have won their game, Kitten is sleeping in her new bed, I think Tyler will be doing some word searches and I might pick up my cross stitching. I'm pretty tired though so that might not happen. A show about the Oiler's is on really late tonight so we have to find ways to stay awake until midnight. It's going to be tough because I have been tired since about 3pm.
Enjoy Sunday!
Sonja
Also, Baby J was moving a lot this morning but might be sleeping now as I haven't felt it for a while.

Friday
The morning was interrupted by a staff meeting and before I knew it, it was time to come home for lunch. It was pouring rain and the wind was blowing. It was a miserable day out. I came home and had a sandwich for lunch and planned our trip home at Christmas with Sonja. We will be leaving here on the 21st of December at 6:45 in the morning. Then the long drive starts. Doing the planning made the lunch hour go by very quickly.
I went back into work and wound down the clock. I made some labels for our binders and other boring things to wind down the day. Soon enough though the day was over and I came home. It was weird because the weather smartened up and there was some blue sky and the sun was peeking through.
I came home and found Sonja trying to co-hearse a kitten out from under the sidewalk. Oh the life of being married to a cat rescuer. She had claimed that she heard a cat meowing this morning but I thought that was crazy. But sure enough I heard a cat meowing somewhere outside our house. I finally talked Sonja into coming back inside and we waited at the window to see if the mystery cat would come out of hiding. Then the calico cat that Sonja has been feeding showed up and lured the other cat out. It turns out that calico is a mom and the mystery cat is just a kitten. They eventually went their own way and we made supper. We had homemade chicken strips. I thought the were so good. Sonja wasn't such a lover of them like I was.
After supper we finished watching the end of the Eskimos game and then watched Horrible Bosses. It was pretty funny. We enjoyed it. After the movie, Sonja thought that she heard a meowing. Sure enough, the kitten and her mom had returned. I went out there to see if I could catch the kitten and get her where her mom was going. I went to the end of our hall outside and peeked around the corner. The mom cat saw me and was immediately interested and came towards me. Her kitten followed. the plan worked pretty flawlessly. I caught her and got Sonja to get them some food. We don't know what to do with them hanging around our place all the time. Maybe turn them into the police to be given a new home.

Kitty hotel
I got up and out of bed to find that our kitty hotel had one guest. For calico cat, I put out some towels in a big plastic tote so she would have somewhere dry and warm to sleep if she needed. That calico cat still comes around but she wasn't our guest. I couldn't see who was in there but I was sure it was another cat. Eventually that other cat checked out and it was a bit black cat who was really scared of me. She was pretty cute though.
My day was routine. Starting with special k for breakfast and then Tyler came home for his break. His coworker left today so she gave us the food she didn't eat.
I did the dishes and fed calico when she showed up. I read my book and then Tyler came home again for lunch. We ate and he went back to work while I went for a walk to pay the Internet bill.
I came home and worked on my new cross stitch project. It's real cross stitching and not a quilt so it's fun to get back to the real thing.
I started cooking dinner and Tyler came home. We had chicken wraps and they were really good. Not much other then a wrap, some chicken, cheese and mayo but it was still really good. I finished dinner with some ants on a log just to make it a bigger more satisfying meal.
We then went for a walk around town. It was chilly and we came home again. Our evening has been relaxed and nice. Tyler did some studying and now we are just hanging out. Tyler is trying to get the Internet to work so we can watch the oiler game but it's not working at all.
Baby j has been kicking pretty much all day. It's so much fun. I just love this little kid already. Only a few more weeks to go. I can't believe how fast this is going. I'm sure it will slow down at some point but I'm excited.

Midweek Rush
I came home and did some studying while Sonja cooked up some macaroni. We were having baked mac and cheese. While it was cooking I studied a little bit more. When supper was done, we put it on the table and sat down and enjoyed each other and the food.
After supper we de-coned the cat and let her clean and run around a bit. She started scratching again and wanted to get away, so we had to re-cone her and therefore dampening her mood. Sonja started googling why she could be scratching and found out that a strict fish diet, like the cat is on, can reduce their vitamin E and causing dry skin. So we then started to look for some other cat food without chicken. We are leaning towards duck and will make the switch at Christmas.
We then started to watch some of The Office and relaxing on the couch. No real plans for the night. I am starting my week and a half stretch of being on call tonight. It should be ok. I've had longer stretches.

Tuesday, October 18, 2011
I woke up a few times, with Kitten in my face or sleeping on my feet but I slept in a good amount. Once I rolled out of bed and enjoyed some breakfast, I had time to do my devotional and play on the computer for a little while.
Tyler came home for lunch and the power went off. This scheduled outage was supposed to happen Sunday or yesterday but it happened today instead. And it was only out for about 15 minutes which is really nice because then I don't have to worry about opening the fridge and letting all the cold air out.
Tyler went back to work and I enjoyed an afternoon of stitching and working out. I did a few word searches and also watched a bit of tv. The weather today was pretty nice, although its turning colder and greyer each day which means that winter is here. For the most part, all the trees will stay green but the few that will change, are turning into lovely shades of orange and yellow. It's really nice. There is one tree across the channel by a house that is orange and all the other trees are green. It looks neat.
Tyler came home from work and did a test on line. He has been studying for a while for it and he thinks he did really well. We went for a walk afterwards and ended up at the store to buy some chicken and bananas. We also bought some ice cream because I've been thinking about it none stop. The last time we bought ice cream, I dropped it in the store and as it fell to the ground, Tyler stuck his leg out to lessen the blow. He still has a scar on his shin so I was careful not to drop it this time.
We finished our walk and came home to enjoy a dinner of smoked salmon with rice. It was really good but I hit my fish limit and couldn't finish up the meal. So, Calico Kitty got the rest of my salmon.
Tyler is just finishing up studying for another test and then we will be watching the Oiler game online (hopefully). We aren't sure if we can find another feed but we will try.
Kitten is snoring on my lap right now and baby has been kicking a lot today. It's so much fun to have a baby in the belly :)

Hockey Night
About 3 I got bored of studying and took the garbage out and joined Sonja. We watched another episode of Great Migrations. After that we were kinda hungry so we made a little something. We were having my co-worker for the week and friend from NAIT over for supper and to watch the Oilers game. It was pretty good pizza, Sonja was concerned because it didn't rise like Sonja was expecting it to. But it turned out good. So we had pizza and watched the Oilers lose the game, but on the flip side our rookie, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored a hat trick which was pretty cool to see. So it was a good night and we are just winding down getting ready for bed.

Friday
My night was disrupted by a sharp pain in my hip that actually woke me right up. My hip has been a bit numb at times and early this morning that pain dragged me out of a good sleep. My leg shot up in the air to try and make the pain stop. It was probably the worst pain I've ever felt but I'm sure it's just the beginning of pain for me. I hear it hurts being more pregnant and then the actual birth isn't fun either.
When Tyler came to kiss me goodbye, he said he saw a whale. It's been so long since we've seen a whale so it's nice that Tyler got a glimpse of it.
I got out of bed and did my normal morning routine. I ate some honeynut cheerios while playing on the Internet. I also did the few dishes we had and then enjoyed some time reading a devotional book. And it's teaching me a lot of good things. I'm enjoying it.
Tyler came home for lunch and we had a good time together. One of Tyler's old NAIT classmates is out here helping him out at work while his boss is on vacation. So that's nice for him to be working with some one his own age again who knows what she is doing. We have invited her over to watch the oiler game tomorrow evening so that should be fun. We figured that if we were in a different town for a few days like she is, we wouldn't want to sit alone in our house all weekend. It's always nice to be invited out and she is an oiler fan so that makes it more fun. Tyler also told me that there is now a boil water advisory in town starting today. We don't know why or for how long but it's already a big pain in the butt. So I got out all the pots we have and boiled a ton of water. We are using this water for everything so we need a lot of it. It seemed that now that I couldn't just grab a cup of water, I was more thirsty then ever.
Tyler went back to work and I continued on with whatever I was doing. I read some more of a book and worked out. It was a really nice day outside but I wanted to go for a walk with Tyler.
Tyler came home and we went for the walk. It was a nice walk even though it was really chilly. Chillier then we thought and Tyler didn't really dress for the weather so we came home.
We enjoyed some salmon and rice for dinner. It's been a while since we had salmon and baby j could only benefit from it.
Baby j has been moving a ton lately and I just love it. It's the coolest thing ever.
Tyler had to study a bit so I worked on my stitching project. I also fed the stray calico cat that comes by every once in a while. With gloves on, I was able to get calico to come onto the deck for a scratch. She usually runs away when I go outside but not today. She is so cute but our own kitty was getting jealous so I went back inside for her.
Tyler just got off the phone with his mom. We are now watching a show all about migrations of animals. It's a good show but it also has caused me many tears. I can't handle it when the cheetah takes down a baby antelope. Or when a family of cheetahs gets attacked and only 3 survive. It's just too sad. So for this episode, Tyler has gone through it to make sure no really cute things get eaten.
Enjoy the weekend. I know we will.

Tuesday
I went back to bed and it started pouring rain outside. It was crazy and kept me awake for a little while. I soon fell asleep again though and it was awesome.
Tyler got up for work and I fell back asleep, after some strange dreams. And then there was people walking around outside so I got up. I showered and ate some breakfast.
Kitten soon started to just be the most annoying she has ever been. I heard her jump up on something so I went to go investigate. She was up on the fridge. I brought her down and told her that she wasn't allowed up there. I sat back down only to hear her jump up again. I brought her back down and thus was how the next hour and a half went. She was all the way up on top of the cupboards where I can't reach her and then she looked down at me. I would get her down and she was back up there. Just a big turkey. And when she wasn't up there, she was meowing like crazy. I had no idea what she wanted but it got annoying.
She finally went to sleep and I had some peace for the remainder of the afternoon. I worked on my cross stitch which I am so close to finishing. I read a book and I went for a walk. It rained all day long except in the morning so I made sure to get that out of the way. It poured on and off and we even got some lightening and thunder.
Tyler came home from work and I started on dinner. We had chicken and rice so it didn't take that long to make. We had plans to go down to Old Towns tonight but it started raining as soon as we were about to go out.
Our evening has been relaxed and it's been nice. Tyler is exhausted and I'm getting more and more tired. It's going to be a nice evening.

First Day Back
I came home just after 5 and found that supper was in the oven and Sonja was just finishing up some dishes. So I went and did a little bit of studying while supper was finishing cooking. I read a bit and before I knew it supper was ready.
After supper it was time again for some studying. It was boring reading from a text book, but I gotta do it. I finished up what I wanted to get done tonight and was able to relax with Sonja for a bit. We got hungry again so I made popcorn for us and we enjoyed it.
Just as we were settling down again after popcorn, my phone rang and I had to go into work. It was a quick callback, just a shoulder xray, but it was still a pain to go in when I was checking out for the night. I might need to go in again tonight as someone is supposed to be coming in from Klemtu, but who knows if that will actually happen.
We also saw two otters on the dock yesterday, which was a highlight of the day. Unfortunately we were unable to get a picture because they were pretty quick getting back into the water.

5:43 am- I got out of bed to look for her. She was in her room, cleaning herself up. I took her cone off and washed it up for her. I let her go coneless for the rest of the morning so she could further clean herself.
5:45 am - 8 am - I was awake and kind of enjoying it. Baby J decided to keep me awake by moving around a whole ton and I really loved that. It was a crazy fun time because it's the most this baby has moved all at once. I think this baby is going to be a moved once it's born. Kitten also joined us a few times, mostly walking all over me and wanting me to pet her. Once she even jumped up from the floor and was under the blanket right away. It was cute. The morning went pretty slow. Tyler did wake up a few times to keep me company.
8 am - 10ish am - Tyler and I fell asleep again. It was nice to finally get some sleep.
Tyler got out of bed at around 10 and I stayed in bed with Kitten until just before 11. Once out of bed, I enjoyed some egg on toast with cheese. It was really tasty. Tyler had chicken burgers a little while later for lunch. And then we enjoyed the day together.
I sat and cross stitched while Tyler did some studying. We didn't do a whole lot all day because it was raining and gloomy all day long. We also don't do a lot any ways because there isn't a lot to do out here.
And there's not much more to tell. We ate dinner and are now just sitting around. It's been a pretty good long weekend. I love spending time with Tyler and an extra day in a weekend lets us spend lots of time together.
We didn't get any turkey dinner this year. It makes me sad because I love turkey and stuffing and potatoes and gravy. I guess there is always Christmas.

After I was done studying and Sonja couldn't smell the grease anymore we went to the store and got a few things we couldn't get yesterday, like milk and fruits. Then we came home and started to watch the new Winnipeg team play Montreal. It was on CBC, but unfortunately the satellite that brings CBC to the village was knocked off in the storm last night so we had to find a source on the internet to watch it on. That was fine, the internet was working just fine and we were able to watch it flawlessly. It was an alright game, except that they might be the Winnipeg Jets on paper and a different team, but they were still the Atlanta Thrashers on the ice, a terrible team to play. They lost 5-1. But it was still a good way to spend an afternoon.
After that game was over it was just a waiting game as the Oilers were starting their season tonight as well. So we waited around for 6 o'clock when the game started. Unfortunately we don't get the channel that it was on, so I had to try to find the game online. However at the same time, everyone else in town had decided that they wanted to go online as well. So the feed was pretty choppy and not very great to watch. We were going over to Kendra's to play some cards, so we left the hockey game and went up to her place. We played phase ten and the game started out absolutely terrible for me I didn't get my first phase for the first 6 rounds, so I was behind, then things turned for me, and before I knew it I was on phase 10, one card away from winning. I got the card I needed and it was all over.
We came back home and watched for the Oilers highlights. We won the game which was pretty exciting. Its too bad we couldn't watch it. Now it will probably be off to bed soon and sleeping in again tomorrow.

Burning ring of fire.
On the other end of the phone was some salesman from a car dealership in Sherwood park that just won't leave us alone. He wanted to sell us a vehicle even though we have told him so many times that we aren't interested right now and it was annoying being woken up for something so stupid. About 10 minutes later, my mom called to tell us morfar is in the hospital. Not good news so send up your prayers. Apparently he should be able to go home in a few days.
At that point we were both wide awake and there was no hope in getting back to sleep. We did spend a bit more time in bed because the power was off so there was no point in getting out.
Once we did get out, I finished off the milk in my cereal so Tyler didn't have anything to eat until we went to the store. Tyler spent part of the morning studying while I worked on my cross stitch project. I'm getting ready to be done this project. It's taken me so long to do it and I just want to work on something else.
We went to the store even though the power was off and ended up getting most of what we needed. It's always a surprise when that happens. We will have to go back tomorrow for a few other things. I'm pretty excited about the menu this week.
We got home and unpacked the food making sure that the fridge wasn't open for too long.
As we were settling back down for the afternoon, the power came back on. It was nice to not have to stitch in the dark.
Our afternoon was then spent reading and stitching and chasing kitten around. It was a nice way to spend the day. Tyler also took a nap.
Tyler then started dinner. He found a recipe online for fried chicken. He was putting together all the ingredients and then it all sit in the fridge. About half an hour later we started the adventure. Tyler started to heat up the oil on the stove. I was cutting up some veggies and as I turned around, the pot started on fire. And then we didn't really know what to do. Tyler turned off the heat and then the fire alarm went off. It was loud and we weren't sure what to do. Tyler covered the pot and then took it outside. Once out there, apparently it re caught fire and was licking at the gloves he was wearing. So he did what any man would do - he threw the whole thing over the edge of the deck. He said it looked pretty cool because it was basically a fireball flying through the air.
So that didn't work. Now we had to figure out what to do with all the chicken. We did kind of the same thing as before only with a frying pan. And it turned out really great. We ate dinner together and too was really great. Tyler was in heaven as he ate it. It was funny. We also decided that since tonights meal was so good, it would be our thanksgiving meal. So we enjoyed thanksgiving together.
And now we sit and digest. It was a nice day even though it was raining and gloomy outside.
Baby j has been moving around a ton today and I love that.

Slow days
Thursday, October 6, 2011
As for the day that just happened, it was pretty good too. I woke up after another great sleep on our new mattress. It's been the best thing ever. It's so comfortable and cushiony and I don't feel Tyler moving around at all. It's probably more beneficial to Tyler because I move around a lot when I'm uncomfortable. But, I've been having some fantastic sleeps since being home. I've also been incredibly exhausted so it's unknown if it's really the mattress but I imagine it has something to do with it.
I ate some breakfast and enjoyed some time just relaxing before the day got started. I did some pregnancy book reading and learned a lot. I did some laundry and went on the computer for a bit.
Tyler came home for lunch and we enjoyed some food and conversation. He was gone soon though and then I was by myself again, with Kitty. She was being a little darling almost all day long. While I was washing our new sheets, she was sleeping on our bed. When I was trying to put the sheets back on the bed, she got locked underneath them. Then when she got out of that, I was playing with her on top of the top sheet, making it billow and she just loved that. She kind of almost destroyed the new sheets but I stopped her before it got really bad.
Once the bed was made again, Kitten got some coneless time. She fell asleep and so did I. And then Tyler came home and she ran away and woke me up. I was only a sleep for about 15 minutes but that was enough for me.
We went to the store which was finally fully stocked of food. But since it is Wednesday, community members from Klemtu came and took a lot of the food. Mostly there was candy and sweet things which I really wanted to buy but it's always so expensive so we left with just what we went for.
We came home and put some chicken in the oven. We had real chicken bacon burgers and it was pretty tasty, a little too salty because of all the chicken and bacon, but it was still good. Kendra came over to say hi and left maybe 20 minutes later. We finished dinner and cleaned up.
Tyler went to go study and I read some more. It was pretty uneventful for about an hour or so and then Tyler stopped studying and the evening got significantly better.
Now we are watching some tv and relaxing. I was going to cross stitch but I'm pretty tired right now. My eyes are getting fuzzy and it might be time to get ready for bed.
Baby J is moving more and more every day. And it's really exciting.

I was still tired though when I woke up and went to work. The morning was dead slow. I didn't do any patients, just other things that needed to be done. We needed to defrost our freezer so I moved everything out of it and let the warm air do its thing. I don't think it was ever done before because we ended up with a huge pond in front of it. So we cleaned that up and pretty soon it was all defrosted. I went home for lunch and again had left over lasagna. It was still pretty good. After lunch I went back into work and finished up my day. It got pretty busy and there went all my plans to study the afternoon away. I was busy until it was time to come home.
When I got home I immediately laid on the bed because its so awesome. I almost took a nap but instead Sonja started supper and I studied a little bit while it cooked. Soon though it was ready and I joined Sonja at the table to eat. After supper I of course studied for a bit. After I was done what I wanted to finish tonight we made some popcorn and watched Transformers Dark of the Moon. Sonja hated it because for whatever reason she doesn't enjoy awesome action movies, but I loved it. She was starting to get figity after an hour and a half, which is how you can tell she doesn't like a movie. But now it is off to bed because morning comes early out here.

What a weekend!
The entire weekend was really awesome. It started on Friday with helping Joni decorate her reception hall. It went pretty quickly and turned out beautiful. I got to meet a bunch of her husband's family and friends as we set up tables, put out table clothes and did a bunch of other wedding stuff to get ready for the next day.
Friday evening after the rehearsal ceremony, we all headed to Aunt Diana and Uncle Ivan's home for a party. That was also really fun. There was a lot of good food and company and it was really fun to spend that time with Joni and friends as they prepared for their wedding day.
And then it was Saturday. And what a day that was! I was awoken when my sister texted me at 7 to ask when the wedding started. Of all the people in the world to text that question, she chose the one person who was involved in the wedding and therefore would be busy all day... and she woke me up. It wasn't a big deal only because I was already struggling to stay asleep. I just found it interesting and a little funny now that it's a few days later.
I ate some breakfast and my mom drove me to the hair salon. All of us girls got our hair done and I loved how my hair turned out. I think it looked really awesome and I'm glad about that. After leaving the salon, we went back to Joni's parents home to spend some time getting ready and eating some food while we waited for the right time to get dressed. I had been trying on my dress for the whole time I was home to make sure it would still fit. I didn't get it altered at all and that concerned me a little because I had no idea how much Baby J would grow by the time the wedding day got here. But, while my belly had grown a fair amount, my ribs have not and the style of dress allowed me to still fit into it. We all looked so good too. With the hair and the dresses, we were ready to party. Ranita's dress had a few malfunctions throughout the day. When she first put it on, one of the straps broke. That wasn't a huge deal because Christine just sewed it right back on and the problem was fixed.
Joni got into her dress, which was a big production of trying to get it tight enough while keeping her vail out of the way while all of us surrounded her to help. It was fun and she looked amazing! Her dress was so awesome and perfect.
After we were all dressed it was a matter of waiting out the clock until we could leave for the church. People drank champagne and we laughed and had a really good time.
Once at the church, we secluded ourselves in the basement so no one could see us. And as Ranita sat down, her strap broke again. This time it was a bit of a problem because we didn't have any thread to sew it back up. Luckily, my mom had suggested I put a safety pin on my dress somewhere out of sight in case my baby belly busted the zipper or a seam somewhere. So, we put her dress back together and it worked like magic.
The ceremony was similar to pretty much every wedding ceremony so there's not too much to report on that part of the day. It was really fun to see her devote her life to her new husband. They are so cute together so although there is little variations in most wedding ceremonies, it was still special because it was Joni getting married. It brought tears to my eyes, it was so beautiful.
After the receiving line and family photos, all of the bridal party went to a few places to take pictures. It did start to rain a few times but that didn't dampen our spirits at all. It was such a fun day to spend with friends and have our pictures taken while meeting all these new people. We also had a picnic and since all of us girls were apparently super hungry, we probably made fools of ourselves as we porked out on candy and pringles and beef jerky and whatever else was there. It's like we had never seen food before.
And then there was the reception. That was also really fun. The whole evening was just perfectly amazing. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. The food was also really good. I wasn't that hungry because I had eaten so much during the day but for some reason, I took a full plate of meat, mashed potatoes, salad and I thought I would be able to finish it. I was so wrong. I didn't really touch any of it because I suddenly realized I was full and my dress felt tighter and I was uncomfortable. I felt bad because the food was really good but I took way too much.
As we were sitting there, Ranita's other strap broke off. We had to be creative with how we were going to fix it this time because we only had one safety pin. We managed to make it look acceptable but I'm pretty sure that dress may need some serious help if it will be worn again.
Once all the formal reception part ended, it was time to break out some dance moves. The dance floor was full pretty much the whole dance which is pretty unusual so that was good to see. It was just super fun to be with family and friends at this happy occasion.
Joni and Jordan left and although the dance continued, people did start to clean up the hall. My flight was leaving early the next morning, so I didn't do much helping taking down the hall. I did get to talk with my aunts and Oma for a while while saying goodbye.
And then I was allowed to be super excited for coming home. I feel like since I have had the wedding to look forward to, being excited for coming home had to take a back burner the whole time. But, when Joni and Jordan left, I let myself just get super excited and pumped for coming back home to Bella Bella.
Once my mom and dad and I got home, we talked for a bit about the day and then I went downstairs to cram all my clothes into the suitcase. I also tried to talk with Tyler but he got called into work so that ended our conversation.
After 5 and a half hours of sleep, I woke up ready to go on Sunday morning. Mom and Dad drove me to the airport. After 4 weeks of living at their house, I'm sure they were ready to get rid of me and I was expecting them to slow down a bit so I could jump out of the vehicle and they would be gone. But, they did stop the car so we could hug goodbye.
Thank goodness each flight I was on went smoothly with nothing really happening because I was ready to be home. I was also having a hard time keeping my eyes open throughout the trip home. I had my book so that kept me awake. I also had the hope of cookies and juice that I didn't want to miss out on so I stayed awake. I could hardly contain myself as we flew over Bella Bella. I saw that our orange car wasn't parked outside our apartment so I knew Tyler was already waiting for me. That's when I kind of lost it. My eyes teared up and I just got so excited.
I was expecting Tyler to be waiting by our baggage claim area but when I walked through the airport doors, he was sitting there waiting. That's when all 3 weeks of waiting caught up to me and I burst into tears while giving him the biggest hug. It was so great to see him again and to be in his arms again. 3 weeks is way too long and I vow never to be apart from him for that long again.
We collected my bags and drove home where we were greeted by little Miss Kitty. She was too good for me so my snuggles didn't last long. And then I was home. And it felt amazing. We unpacked my bags and started on laundry and then just spent the rest of the day with each other. We talked about everything and it was so great to be with Tyler again.
And one of the best things about being home was that Tyler got to feel his baby kicking and moving around for the first time. He had a funny reaction when he first felt it. He wasn't sure he even felt it because to him, it just felt like his hand twitched. I reassured him that it was his baby and he wasn't too sure what to think. I love it but maybe he just has to get use to it like I did.
Since I only got 5 and a half hours of sleep the night before, it was tough to keep my eyes open for long once I got home. I didn't take a nap because I wanted to sleep last night so we didn't do much that evening. Once in bed, I fell asleep probably within seconds of laying down. And apparently I still talk in my sleep because Tyler said I woke him up by saying, "Hello!" in a very irritated way. I still think it's pretty funny that I talk so much in my sleep but he doesn't find it as funny as I do.
And today is business as usual. Tyler went to work and I stayed in bed to keep catching up on sleep. Kitten joined me for a while. Baby was kicking and maybe didn't like Kitten laying on my belly so I moved her over. Once out of bed, I did the few dishes from the day before and waited for Tyler to come home for lunch. When he came, he said, "clear the bed" and looked like he was on a mission. It kind of freaked me out a little because I assumed he was told we have bed bugs or some horrible mattress disease because it is so old and gross. But it turns out, we are getting a new bed frame, mattress, sheets, pillows, everything to do with a new bed. FINALLY!!! That makes me so happy because our bed really is no good. And, as we torn apart our bed, we saw even more evidence of how much we need a new bed. The box spring has a blue tarp on the bottom of it. It looks like they had a problem with it and just put a tarp over it and thought that was a good way to solve the problem. Also, the bed frame is falling apart and isn't screwed together very well.
So now, my hall way has a mattress and box spring waiting to get replaced by something better. And on top of the mattresses, which are up on their side is one silly Kitten, sleeping away. She spider-maned her way up the side and hasn't come down since.
I'm just waiting now for the maintenance guys to come and get rid of this horrible bed so we can have a new one. I'm also currently pretty hungry so I'll be searching for some food as well.
I was going to blog last night about my adventures but our internet was not working and I couldn't see straight.
Baby J is doing just fine as well. Stilling kicking away and growing nicely. Tyler surprised me by having the drawers of the dresser filled with the smallest diapers, clothes that we have been given and toys. We are using that dresser as a changing table of sorts. It used to be what I put my clothes on and in but it's about the right height to use for Baby J. It also has a big mirror on it so maybe Baby J will like that. I am getting so excited about all of this. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow where I will get to hear that little heartbeat again.

Tomorrow
I got home again and started up studying. I went ahead and did a test to get it done. After that was over I made some Kraft Dinner for lunch. It was good and hit the spot for the rest of the day. I went into work to study some more, as the internet wasn't working good enough to load up what I needed to study. I got the studying done and then wrote my test for that as well. Both tests went good I feel.
After that was done I came home and went to the store for food. After coming home I did some dishes and laundry to clean up a bit. I got a call to go back into work and was there for an hour and a half. After I got home I finished up the dishes and settled in to get ready for the Oilers game. The game started out pretty good and exciting. But it didn't end up that great they let in 2 goals in the last 2 minutes, losing the game 4-1. But there is hope for the future. They looked good until the end I think.
The day is almost over and tomorrow comes with Sonja returning home to join me. I can't wait. Three weeks is too long of a time to only have the company of a cat.
