Do you know what's more annoying then waking up a few minutes before the alarm goes off? Getting woken up by your husband 5 minutes before the alarm goes off. Not the ideal start to any Tuesday. Losing 5 minutes of sleep right at the end is heartbreaking. I have missed it all day long.
I had the most tasty bowl of multigrain cheerios for breakfast. I think those are my favorite breakfast cereal. They just taste so darn good.
I headed off to work, fully expecting to be bored out of my tree. For the most part, I was right to expect that. The very morning was pretty dull, but it soon kind of picked up. I got a few statements in the mail from another community so I did that all afternoon. It was nice to have work. The only thing is that I have a mountain of work waiting for me again tomorrow. I get to file away 2 years worth of prisoner papers. It will be frustrating and I'm not going to enjoy it, but at least I will be up on my feet for that part of the day. Also, tomorrow I get to fix my co-worker's mistake. Not really looking forward to that.
I came home and started on dinner. I made some sort of spaghetti dish that had chicken and bacon and sauce in it. I could tell right away that Tyler wasn't too impressed with it. I really liked it and since Tyler didn't eat his usual heaping plate full of food, I get some lunch for tomorrow. That makes me happy.
Tyler and I were in the middle of our dinner time conversation when he starts shouting, "WHALES! WHALES!!!" We raced outside to see a pod of about 6 orcas, there may have been more. They were swimming really close to the coast guard. They were just so cool! It's been a long while since we've seen anything that cool. We were out on the deck, watching them swim farther away from us. I texted our friend to come and watch with us. It was a beautiful thing to watch.
We drove to the ferry, the direction they were swimming. And we waited for them to come past. I think we got some good pictures, Tyler was in charge of the camera. I think we may have some video of it. It was just amazing. The way the sun was shining and they just kept spouting and it was so cool. It made me want to stay out here for a lot longer. This whole day, I've been feeling like I really just want to get out of here. It's so small and I didn't think I could go on much longer. And then those orcas swam past. My hope was renewed.
We got back home and lounged around the house, talking about our day and just spending time together. It's been a nice evening.
And I'm pretty tired so it's off to bed for me quickly.
