Jiggity jig

Well, we made it home safe and sound.  And it was a fantastic holiday.  I'm not sure even where to begin because we saw many friends and family and it was a busy 2 weeks.  Also, those who are reading this likely spent at least one day with us, so you know how our vacation went.

We spent New Years Eve with a bunch of friends, staying up late as required on a night like that.  We played fun games and laughed a lot.  I really do love and miss our friends.  Tyler and I got back to the Jarrett's home late and got very little sleep.  We were up shortly after to get ready for another busy day with family.

We headed over to Tyler's aunt and uncles home for a New Years day.  It started out a little slow, mostly because we were all eating but it soon picked up and we were playing games and having lots of fun.  Tyler apparently doesn't like playing games so he sat out when we opened up Cranium.   There were only 6 of us playing but it was still super awesome.  We played a few other games and soon it was time to go home again.

We drove home and it had started to snow.  The roads weren't so bad at that time but I was a little worried about the morning.  It was decided we would wake up pretty early in case the weather was going to be difficult for us.

Tyler was once again a tetras master and managed to get everything we had bought into our suitcases, and he managed to keep it under 50 pounds per bag.  He's pretty awesome that way.  I guess when you aren't transporting 4 huge salmon, there is room for our other stuff.

The horrible sound of my cell phone alarm rang at 4:30 this morning.  No phone alarm sounds good, but it seems worse when it's so stupidly early like that.  Luckily for us, we had everything packed and just needed to throw on some clothes.  Also it was fortunate that Carolyn was dropping us off.  Not fortunate for her because it was so early, and we do thank you for that :)

It was so snowy out there this morning.  Combined with the fact that at that time of day, the roads are still fresh with no tire marks, it made for a slow and steady drive to the airport.  But that's why you plan ahead.  We made it in time and after one more goodbye (holding tears back), we entered the airport to make our journey home again.

It was mostly uneventful.  We stood in line at the Tim Horton's for some breakfast and sat down to wait for our plane to come in.  We thought that maybe we would get to see my cousin Matt as his flight was to depart 15 minutes after ours, but we never did.  Our flight, as stated before, was uneventful and I'm glad about that.  Any hiccups would have made me one grumpy traveller.  I got to read a new book I bought with some Christmas money.  It's called The Fall of Giants and it's by the only author that really interests me.

Soon enough we were in Vancouver.  We had a bit of a lay over, but books have a way of passing the time well.  Our flight to Bella Bella was loud but it got us here on time.

I'm pretty surprised how much snow this place has.  When we left, it was green grass and warm weather.  It was practically the tropics.  Now, it's still warm but there's a bit of snow on the ground.  We went home, unpacked and I got my little Kitty back again.  She seems different and I'm pretty sure she has lost a bit of her stomach flab.  She is just so cute and sweet.

We literally have no food in our place so we headed out to the store so we could at least eat something other then mustard and butter.  There wasn't the usual crowd in front of the store, so we guessed it wasn't open.  And we were right. It was disappointing.  Tyler rummaged through the freezer to find some chicken burgers of the not real variety and he made us some lunch.

Tyler has been playing 007 Golden Eye all day.  And it's a little freaky how good he is at it.  But it's his favorite game in the world that he got for Christmas.  It really makes me want to watch a really good spy movie.  It makes me want to creepy around and play a cops and robbers type game.

I haven't done much today.  I started another quilt and I've been reading.  I caught a cold from some cute little cousins of Tyler and have been fighting it for about a week now.  I hate being sick over holidays.  It started out just being in my sinuses, but it recently moved into my chest and it's now causing me to dry cough.  I get headaches so we bought some halls.

Right now, Kitty is sleeping on a fur blanket that her babysitter generously gave to us.  Tyler just got red screened in his game and I'm about to quilt some more.

It's been a great last 2 weeks.  I miss everyone of my family and friends and I wish we could live closer so its easier to see each other.  I am glad to be home again.  I've gotten use to the low stress lifestyle that we live out here.  It's really interesting to me that being back here kind of makes me want to live out here longer then I thought I would.  I actually consider this my home and although I want to live close to family, this will do for now.

Happy New Year!!!

Sonja
