I went to work and it started out slow and stayed slow most of the day. There was a period over noon where it picked up a little bit. Eventually it was time to go home.
We still had some groceries that needed getting so I went to the grocery store and finished off the list. We still needed cheese, broccoli and hot dog buns. I picked it all up and came back. The store was the busiest I have seen it. It was like an anthill. I came back home and unpacked the food and waited for Sonja to come home. When she did we decided to make hot dogs since we didn't really have anything else taken out to make. They were really really good. Sometimes nothing beats a boiled hot dog. Sonja started the dishes and I joined her for drying and putting them away.
After supper we started watching a movie on TV and I started to study. Sonja had to go into the detachment for a update on the guarding world. So she had to leave at 7 leaving me to my studying. I also vacuum the house as we have people coming over tomorrow for cards. I studied more after finishing, until Sonja came home at 9.
Now Sonja is just winding down from her night and I am writing this. Nothing on tap for the rest of the night.

Any way, today was Sunday. It was a good day too. A little to fast for my liking though. Weekends seem to go more quickly these days. I'm not sure why. We don't generally do a whole lot to make it go fast.
Last night was a pretty awful night. Kitty wouldn't leave us alone last night and it was getting ridiculous, even more so then normal. I went to the spare room so that she would leave Tyler alone. Even though I know that Kitty really wanted to just see me. I went into the other room and Kitten joined me. And she walked around me a few times as I was trying to get back asleep. She wanted under the blanket, on my head and in the boxes beside the bed. It was so silly. But I didn't get a goo night sleep.
I woke up when Tyler's oncall phone started to ring. He went to work and I stayed in bed. He got home at some point and I woke up again. I got out of bed and we started the day. Tyler made some more pancakes, which again didn't turn out that good. It was nice to have breakfast made for me though. That's always appreciated.
I did dishes while Tyler studied. I asked him to play some music and he did, and that made doing dishes a little more tolerable. I was dancing and washing all at the same time. It was actually a little fun.
And then we went for a walk. It was a really nice day weather-wise today. Sun was shining and it was a clear blue sky. The only problem was that the wind was really cold. The kind of cold wind that makes your ears feel like they are bleeding. It hurt but we went to the dump to try and get some awesome eagle pictures. There weren't that many birds there today and that was a little disappointing but it was still pretty cool. We got pretty close to a few of them.
On our way home, we stopped by the store to pick up the rest of our grocery list. We got home and Tyler studied some more while his most favorite movie was on. We were watching "The Dark Knight" and I'm pretty sure Tyler didn't learn anything while that was on.
Our day was pretty relaxed. It was filled with Kitty chasing a tin foil ball around, Tyler studying and tickling my feet and me stitching. It was a great day. And I'm sad that it's over. Another weekend over and another week to look forward to.

The pancakes weren't the only thing I couldn't make today. We decided that we were going to eat pizza tonight for supper. Sonja didn't want to make it so I had to take charge of it. Bad idea. I can't make pizza dough if my life depended on it. It wouldn't rise all day. It turned out to be the worst pizza I have made. Even when it was done cooking it wasn't good. The crust didn't brown, or rise or really cook. It was chewy and not very good.
I had to go into work two more times today. So it was a good day for the old bank account. The rest of the night after supper was spent watching the All-Star Skills competition. After that we finished watching How to Train Your Dragon. We are now watching The Hangover and Sonja is stitching. No plans for the remainder of the night.
I don't have to go into work tomorrow morning yet, but that can always change.

Finally!!
Thursday, January 27, 2011
Today started as usual. The cat scratching on the door from 5 until 6:30. Sonja got up and I stayed in bed for another hour. I got up and got ready for work. I went over to the hospital and started my day. It was kinda slow until 10 came and I was just about to leave for coffee. The boat full of Klemtuites came in and needed xrays done. So I did them and it kept me busy for about an hour. That was the best part of the day because it was busy. The rest of the day was slow and uneventful.
I was able to come home on time to word that our stove was on fire for a little bit. I don't know if something was burning on the element or if the element is going. I turned the oven on to cook supper and waited for it to burn again. It didn't so hopefully it is okay. We should probably clean it this weekend. We tried a turkey, salsa and mozzarella cheese. It was alright. Sonja didn't like it though. After supper we did the dishes, as we were running out of dishes.
Sonja had to go for a guard training update at seven, so she left. Only to come back 5 minutes later. Her thing has been rescheduled for another day. I studied for a bit and we are now watching Big Bang Theory and settling in for our favorite night. Mainly just for the Office. I will be making a big bowl of popcorn and enjoying the night.

Wednesday
I really wanted to stay in bed this morning. It was so warm and cozy and everything was perfect about it. After a lengthy shower and a bowl of puffed wheat, it was off to work. The morning was pretty good. Busy with work so it seemed to go pretty quick. I get along well with my co-workers so it's actually fun being there.
Lunch was grapes and yogurt and it was so good. I finished off both so I have no idea what I'm having tomorrow. Maybe breakfast for lunch. I have a lot of milk I need to finish before Saturday because it's going to expire. And Tyler doesn't help with drinking the milk so it's all up to me. I view it as a challenge.
Back to work for a pretty boring afternoon. One kind of sad piece of information is that, yesterday one of the cops picked up an injured eagle. It wasn't able to fly, so it was sent out to a rehab center. We learned today that it would probably have to be put down because it looked like it wasn't going to recover. It's sad to hear but that's nature. I was given false hope that I would get to go home early today. the power went off at around 3:30 and we were running on the generator for a few minutes. When the power goes off, we aren't able to get on the internet and our systems shut down. But then the power came back up and it was back to work.
I started making din din when I got home. We had bacon wrapped cheese stuffed chicken. It came out of our grilling recipe book and we don't have a grill so I wasn't sure it would turn out well. But I was so wrong. It was so so oh so good. But also super salty. My kidneys are working overtime.
Tyler just finished watching the oiler game and is now studying. I'm going to start cross stitching soon, after the blog is posted. It's another slow night, but that's okay. We are together again and that's all that matters.
I'm pretty sleepy so it might be off to bed sooner then I thought.

Lunch came and I was hungry, so it was perfect timing. I came home and heated up some leftovers and made a sandwich. The afternoon kinda crawled by. I was finally able to come home, on time which was nice. I came home and started to make supper. It was fish night, meaning I had to do it. I used my new filet knife which is awesome. It cut through the tough scales of the rockfish with no problems. My last knife wasn't able to do that at all. I cooked it up and we had rice and fish to eat.
Sonja had an unusual prisoner come into her work today. There was a call about an injured eagle at the dump. So one of the officers went over there to capture it and send it to a rehab center.
After supper I did the usual amount of studying trying to do this course. It has been tricky since I am terrible at math, but hopefully I can get my way through the physics course.

Another Monday
I got up about a minute before the alarm went off. I just couldn't lay in bed any longer. I showered, and ate some puffed wheat for breakfast. I haven't had puffed wheat in so long, I forgot what it tasted like.
Tyler got out of bed and I had to go to work. And work went swimmingly. It was actually really good to be there today. I learned a lot today. I spent the morning concluding files on the system which is going to continue being a huge learning curve for me. Everything is different. But the same. The way to do each file is the same, but each file is done differently. It's pretty confusing and it really doesn't sound like fun at all, but it was a good day. It was full of work, and that's good.
I came home for lunch and played with Neglector. Tyler has started calling Kitty "Neglector" because when she has been alone all day, she is really needy and meows a lot and acts really neglected. Any way, I was home for lunch and had some grapes and yogurt and an oreo. It was filling.
I headed back to work for full afternoon of work. It was nice to be busy all day long. That doesn't happen ever and it made the day go by so fast. I did a lot of stuff today.
I got home and worked out . Tyler came home and then left again. He was helping our neighbor move her fish from her old place. He came home and made dinner. I finished my work out and we ate dinner. Tyler made chicken and rice. It had brown sugar and chili powder and a bunch of other stuff on it. Another great meal to eat.
We have spent the evening watching tv and Tyler studied. I worked on a new cross stitch and I'm getting it done pretty quickly.
And now we are both relaxing together. I like together time. It's my favorite part of the day and it doesn't happen as often as I want it to. Our evening life is busy. Actually, Tyler's evening life is busy with school. Oh well. It's all to better our life so it's okay with me.
I hope tomorrow is as good of a day as today was.

At about 12 we decided to go to the store to get some fruit, since there was none yesterday when we were there. But first it was a nice day out so we decided to go for a walk. They have been doing a lot of work on the dump, modernizing and getting a recycling department going. So it has changed a lot so we went down that way. When we got there we saw eagles. Lots and lots of eagles. More eagles than we have seen at one time since we've been here. I counted at least 150 eagles at the dump, and in the trees around and leading up to the dump. We weren't the only ones impressed about the enormous amount of eagles, as some of the locals we there with cameras and taking video and pictures. Of course since it wasn't the original plan to go down there I didn't bring the camera so we have no picture of these birds. But they were there last weekend and will be there next weekend so we will go back and take the camera this time.
We came back and stopped at the store on the way by. There was still no fruit so Sonja will have to go tomorrow and get some. We came home and Sonja watched her Grey's Anatomy and I just relaxed and played some Wii.
We had Kendra over for supper since she was busy all day. I made schwarties potatoes and it was delicious and very filling. She left early because she was tired and we continued to relax the evening away.
Just going to get ready for bed pretty quick and get ready for the week.

Early
Finally we got to sleep in. It was glorious. I was still awake pretty early with a meowing kitty scratching at our door and chewing on our plug ins. She is just ridiculous. I don't so much mind when I can just fall back asleep and don't have to worry about waking up for work. I got out of bed and started to sew on the back of the latest edition to the quilt family. It looks alright and I hope that it holds up when it's all done.
Tyler eventually rolled out of bed and joined me for the day. I had a kiwi and a bowl of cereal for breakfast. It was good. I love kiwis so much and I'm glad I can actually get them out here. The morning was spent watching my new addiction, Grey's Anatomy. I am hooked. It's a little sad because I don't like being hooked on a tv show. I let it slide because with Tyler working on his school, I don't have much else to do. It keeps me entertained while my husband is preoccupied. It's kind of funny, the show is about doctors and people are dying in every episode. But there was an episode where a dog had to be put down, and that's when my waterworks started. It made me feel so silly. It actually just reminded me of Moe, the family cat we use to have. It makes sense to me.
Any way, Tyler made up the grocery list and we headed out to the Band store. We didn't really think we would be getting most of our food, as the freezer trailers weren't parked outside. But, as we went through the store, we were able to cross most of the items off our list.
We came home, unpacked the food and started on the mountainous pile of dishes that has collected for a few days. I had to wash today. Not my favorite as I hate getting wrinkly hands. It does remind me of the song, "No matter how young a prune may be, he's always full of wrinkles", that my parents would sing to us when we got out of the bath. What a great song.
And then I started working on the quilt some more. I'm still excited to give it to our friend.
Tyler has been making beef jerky all day. It is so good. It made the house really warm which was nice until it was intolerable. We just finished up another successful Classy Chicken dinner and Tyler is now trying to beat a level in his James Bond game. It's taken him so long trying to beat it and it's just not working out yet.
No plans for the rest of the evening. It's crap weather here today, with rain and wind so a walk was out of the question today. I wish I had puddle boots out here, then we could go anywhere. Something to pick up on out next trip out of here.

Shearwater
I came home at lunch and I had a big meal. I made a roast beef sandwich, had some left over garlic toast and a chicken burger. It was all delicious and filling. I went back to work and waited for the day to end.
Sonja was supposed to be off early today, but she didn't get off until her regular time. We were going to Shearwater tonight for supper. So we waited at home until we saw the seabus coming and took off to the dock. We were a little bit early so we had to wait on the boat for the designated take off time. it was a full boat, 12 people. Some people had to stand outside in the back. We got over there in record time. It took about 10 minutes. It was nice to get over there so quickly. We went into the restaurant and picked a table. I ordered a bacon cheese burger of course and Sonja ordered a chicken burger. We ate and we able to catch the 6:30 bus back to Bella Bella. Unfortunately the quick bus was done for the day and we had to take the slow trip back. We came home and Sonja started to stitch the back on her quilt to finish it up. She has been watching Grey's Anatomy while I have been surfing the internet.
We are excited for the weekend. I am not on call so looking forward to restfully sleeping and sleeping in late. It will be a good relaxing time.

Thursday, Jan. 20
I woke up about half an hour before my alarm went off. It wasn't nice at all. I also got out of bed 5 minutes before the alarm went off. Again, not nice. I showered and got dressed and then ate some breakfast.
My work day wasn't too impressive either. The morning seemed to drag on, probably because I wasn't doing much. I pulled files, typed a bit. nothing overly thrilling. I came home for a lunch of fruit smoothie and pistachios. So good.
Once I got back to work, I couldn't believe it, but I was more bored then before lunch. I finished all my work and there wasn't anything left for me to do. I read a magazine, answered a few phone calls. There wasn't much point to be there, but it pays the bills.
I finally was able to come home. Tyler was home already. We made a fancy dinner of spaghetti with leftover meat sauce and leftover alfredo sauce. I also put bacon and feta cheese in mine. It was so good, although the after taste isn't so great.
Tyler had to study a bit as usual and I finally finished up my latest quilt. It's drying as we speak and it's ready to put the back on it. That's this weekends project. I'm getting ready to give it away.
Our evening has been uneventful. We finally get to spend some real time together and that's great. I'm super excited about the weekend.
Sonja
Also, Kitty is sleeping in a cute little ball right beside her daddy. It's pretty sweet.
Wednesday, January 19, 2011
So again I'll save you the boring details of the day and fast forward to after work. I came home and started to do dishes. I was almost done when Sonja came home. She started her work out and I finished up the dishes. When I was done I sat on the couch and went on the internet for a little bit while Sonja finished. It soon came time to make supper. Sonja had a recipe chosen and bacon taken out for it. But when it came down to it we didn't have an ingredient for the sauce. We opted for bacon chicken burgers instead. They were super good, and now we have bacon left in the fridge for sandwiches and such.
After supper I studied a little bit and I came and watched a little bit of Greys Anatomy with Sonja. We finished up the episode and then watched Minute to Win it.
Sonja is just about done her project and getting ready to be done. Just winding down for the night and getting ready for the homestretch of the week.

Tuesday
Any way, today is Tuesday. It was a long day and I'm glad that it's over. I was glad the work day ended. But, to start at the appropriate time of day, I had a relatively pleasant sleep. Kitty only came in once to chew on the cords on the lamp. Tyler put up a new lamp. I'm pretty sure it's an Ikea lamp. It looks kind of Chinese, which is strange, but it's made of paper and wire wrapped around it. Mom and Dad have one in the spare room downstairs. Only this one is shaped like a ball. Kitty got into it so there are a few rips in it, but it does the job.
We showered and ate some breakfast. I have a box of Special K that I'm not into these days. I have been sneaking Tyler's Honey Nut Cheerios and I love them. They are so good in the morning. I worked a little on the quilt but it was time to head to work.
I finally got full access to the police system. I was learning all morning and it was exhausting. The one thing I hate about learning is how exhausting it is. I sat all day and yet, it feels like I was actually doing stuff all day long. It was good though. I learned stuff. It feels good to be useful. But with learning comes all the other stuff. People seem to pile work on me because I get it done fast and now, it will only increase. I kind of like that they can depend on me. It's nice.
Any way, the day seemed to drag on and on. Lunch came and went and it was back to working. I got to go to the post office and on the way, I walked past a sweet little black puppy just sitting on the side of the road. And when I got back to the detachment, I looked outside and saw a cute white puppy. He was walking down the road with a bunch of cars piling up behind him. He wouldn't get out of the way and it was funny.
I finally got home and made some supper. I had a pretty massive headache, but I managed to get the cheese sandwiches grilled and tomato soup cooked. It was pretty good. A little too much cheese so I had a greasy gross feeling most of the night.
I recently started watching Grey's Anatomy and, although I don't consider myself addicted yet, it may be soon that I wish for those seasons for Christmas. Maybe not though.
Tyler has been studying all night while I stitched. He is such a smart guy. He is teaching himself physics. What a guy!! I'm nearly done the quilt. All I have to do is the outlining and I'm done. Then I can give it to our friend. I'm excited for that.
I plan on going to bed right away. I have a book to read and Tyler is playing James Bond again.
It's Wednesday tomorrow and I can't really believe that. The middle of the week already. That's a little crazy to me.

Since nothing happened during my time at work I will fast forward to after. I am finally off of being on call, so I got off at 4 which is a nice change. I came home and the sun was still up and the tide was out. I went to the store to get our milk and some yogurt for Sonja. I also picked up a roast. I have plans of making some jerky this weekend. I came back home and tried to get my school up. But since the Internet is still down I couldn't get on. I am starting to think that online courses aren't the best option being in a location with hit and miss Internet access. Sonja came home and then we went onto the beach. The tide was as low as it has ever been. I wanted to get a starfish to dry. Since the tide was so low it was easy pickings. I found one that was bright orange. Hopefully it turns out, it should be cool if it does. We came back and Sonja worked out for a little bit and I started the dishes. After Sonja was done she started supper. We had mini meat loaves stuffed with mozzarella cheese and ham. It was really good but mine was way to hamburgery. We finished up and I started to do some studying. Sonja has been watching Greys Anatomy tonight.
Just going to relax for the rest of the night. No real plans.
Tyler
Sunday, January 16, 2011
It started with trying to sleep in. I don't really like to sleep in on Sundays because I need to be able to sleep tonight.
Tyler was able to sleep for a long time and so when he was still snoring, I was able to get a good portion of my quilt done. I'm pretty much done that thing and that's very exciting. I'm thinking I could get it done tomorrow. I love finishing a project. I'm looking forward to my next project. I'm going to start on a real cross stitch that I got from mom and dad Jarrett for Christmas. It has my favorite little saying on it. "when you only saw one set of footprints, that was when I carried you". I just love that.
The day went by as expected. We sat around, doing our own thing. I stitched all day long. Tyler studied for school, took a nap. At one point we tried going to the store. Actually, we made it to the store fine, just a little rain blowing in our faces. What we tried was to buy the rest of our grocery list. We still needed milk, whipped cream, and some garlic bread. As we entered the store, my heart sank. The milk fridge was empty. It kind of hurts when we can't get the food we need.
We came home and did more of nothing. It was a good day. Like I said, I stitched and got what I had planned done. It's a great feeling.
Now, we are flipping between the golden globes and myth busters. Watching the awards shows makes me want to be in movies, you know, if I could act with at least a shred of talent.
Kitty is a little sweetheart as usual. She was de cones a few times today so she got to take a spit bath.
Ready for another week!
Sonja
Also, just so you know, our Internet has been down all day so I'm typing this on tylers phone. If there are any words that don't make sense or are spent wrong, it's because this keypad is so small. Also I'm a bad speller.

Green again.
I got up and was going to do some homework but discovered that the Internet wasn't working. So I read out of the textbook and Sonja started the shopping list. After I finished reading I started some laundry and then cut my hair. Then came cleaning up my hair, so I vacuumed and showered. By this time Sonja was finishing up the list so we then went for groceries.
I had to take some blood to the airport today since the plane didn't come in yesterday. I got to the hospital and found there was some bloodwork waiting for me. It was a little bit irritating because they are supposed to call me but I wasn't called. So my easy ten minute callback was stretched to be an hour.
I came home and made some lunch and started some more school. It went pretty good today. After that we just relaxed and watched some tv. I played some goldeneye before we decided to make supper. We had tropical chicken pizza again. It was again really good. After supper transformers was on so we finished watching that. While it was on, Sonja was threatening to change the channel when I was walking away. I decided it would be a good thing to kneel on the coffee table and try to stop her. In doing this I ended up kneeling on our Kobo and broke the screen. It was kinda a dumb move.
Right now the Oilers are playing. They are losing 3-2 just at the end of the second. Hopefully they can regroup and pull out the win.

It was a Friday for sure
Let's start at the very beginning, as very good place to start. My Kitty alarm went off too early, again around 5am. I was able to put her on snooze with a few scratches. She was waiting for me outside our door when I got up for my shower.
After a breakfast of tasty cake from Christmas from Mormor and Morfar. I would try to spell it but I don't know how to, and I'm sure I don't have the required letters on this keyboard. I noticed that it had snowed quite a bit last night but I wasn't prepared for what I walked out into.
On my way to work, I was the 2nd person out there. That means that there was only one set of foot prints to follow. I was disappointed because it took all week for a good path to be forged from the previous snowfall. What a life. Any way, the foot tracks I had to follow were clearly male because they were far apart. Tyler just told me they were from our female neighbor who is pretty tall, so that explains the male looking tracks. It was blowing snow on my walk to work. By the time I got there, my shoes and socks were soaking wet.
The morning went by without many hitches. A typical day of not doing much. Around lunch time I had a bit of a dilemma. I was working on getting access for the police systems. After a few phone calls, I had everything set to go. I went to sign in and it said the token I have been using belonged to the woman I'm replacing. It freaked us out because we thought we were in fact using her token and had changed all the passwords. But then it was lunch time.
I came home and as soon as I exited the detachment, I slipped about 10 times. I stepped over a cement parking block and almost slipped over that. And then walking down our small little hill, I kept slipping and sliding, but never fully falling over. It just made me grumpy. Tyler didn't see a nice side of me.
I thought ahead and packed dry socks and my new pink slippers I got from my parents for Christmas. On the way to work, I actually did slip and got mud all on my pant leg. It was less frustrating because it became a little funny.
The afternoon was alright. I was learning how to use programs and do real work. It started raining during the afternoon which made for an interesting walk home. There was about a shoe's height on snow and a lot of water underneath. It sucked.
I got to come home early, so I worked out and was ready for the evening when Tyler came home. We have no food in our house, so Tyler made rice. That's it. We are very creative with our meals. I'm hoping that there is food in the Band Store tomorrow or else we will be out of luck.
Tyler informs me that for the next 5 days, it will do nothing but rain outside. I can't wait for spring and summer again. Then we can actually go outside without getting soaked.
Our plans for the rest of the evening include watching another movie. We just finished up with Golden Eye. It's the movie Tyler's James Bond game is based on.
I plan on doing a ton of stitching on this quilt. I only have a few more weeks to get it done and I'm pretty close already.
Sonja
Thursday, January 13, 2011
Eventually it was over and I came home. I made supper of and cheese, as Sonja was sleepy, and it is really easy. While it was baking we did the dishes.
After supper I studied my MRI. I did that for an hour and a half. We watched a bit of TV when I finished up. We watched an episode of Big Bang Theory and then Wipeout. I made some popcorn for dessert. It was delicious.
Its exciting that tomorrow is finally Friday. It seems like it has been a long week. But thats what happens when your on call for 2 weeks straight.
Sorry for the short little blog. Its supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow for a total of 1 foot overall.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011
Once I got to work, I was alright again. That's strange because usually it's work that puts me in a bad mood. But I actually had a lot of work to do in the morning. Many statements and lots of phone calls. It was nice to get my mind out of the grumpy haze and into a better mood. After lunch, there was more work but nothing of note happened.
I got home from work and started to work out. Tyler came home on time and started to make dinner. We had spaghetti and meat sauce. It was really good.
Now, Tyler is working on his schooling. It's nice to see him working so hard at this. It must be hard though, because he doesn't fully understand what he's trying to learn. But he is getting it. With the internet and his brains, he will get it.
This morning I learned that the cops shot and killed a wolf last night. The wolves are getting pretty brave and are no longer scared of people. It's sad, but they have to remain afraid of us.
Tyler needs the computer now for school, so I'm off to go stitching some more. I have goals that I have to meet if I want to get this done by the end of this month.

School
Work today was a little bit slower than yesterday. But it was still busier than it has been around here. But since it wasn't as busy, I was able to come home at 5 and not need to stay late. Thats always nice especially now that I have school that needs to be done. I came home and supper was already finished. Sonja had just made some meat, and we also had popcorn to top off the meal. After supper I relaxed for a bit before starting my studying for the night.
Sonja worked on her quilt tonight while I became frustrated at trying to teach myself how to do trig. Fortunately I have two courses to do. So I took a break from one and started on the other one. I can tell the other one is going to be better to do. It is pretty similar so far to some of the x-ray courses I took.
The weather today was snowy. We have gotten an inch in the last 24 hours. Not as much as back home, but its a lot for here. We are supposed to get another 3 or 4 inches yet by the end of the week until the rain washes it away. With all the tough weather out here the wolves on the island are starting to form packs and are getting pretty brave. They have been coming into town and harassing the dogs and aren't scared of people anymore. There were also two cougars sighted yesterday, one in the morning and one at night. Both of those were right in town. I want to get a trail camera out and see what kind of animals are actually on the island, catch some of these critters in the act.
Not much on the plan for the rest of the night. I'm done studying for today, and will regroup after printing off a bunch of stuff for my courses.

9 Months together
Any way, it's monday today. I was actually slightly looking forward to today because there was promise of work and learning for me. Last week, it was decided that I finally get access to the police system that BC uses. I thought it would come today. It never did. So my morning was amazingly boring. I had 2 tapes to transcribe but they weren't loaded properly on to the computer, so they didn't actually play for me. It's frustrating knowing that there is work for me to do and not being able to get it done. I asked for help and soon one of the cops helped me out and fixed it.
And so my afternoon was spent typing. I had a 45 minute tape to do, and it took over 2 hours to type out. It made the day go by pretty fast, but I have to admit, I'm a little worried about getting carpal tunnel with all this typing. It just kind of crosses my mind every once in a while.
After work finally ended I came home and worked out. It's nice to move around after a full day of just sitting around. I also was thawing out chicken for dinner. We were going to have skillet chicken with gravy, only today I didn't make gravy or potatoes, but instead we had it with rice. And most of the coating fell off in the pan. I use to always make this when we first moved out here but kind of forgot about the recipe until Tyler requested it this week. I finished my work out and got into the kitchen. Tyler was late coming home from work so it was okay that I hadn't started din din yet.
He came home and started to wash the mountain of dishes that once again collected by our sink. It always amazes us how quickly that seems to happen. And then we leave it for a few days and every time I go into that kitchen, I curse and wish we had just done them. We ate and finished the dishes.
Tyler started his MRI program today. So after dinner, he started on his work and I started on my stitching. He was having a bit of trouble but I know he will learn fast, because he is a smarty pants.
We are now actually relaxing for the first time this evening. Tyler played a bit of Bond and I'm just typing this out. I'm excited about this quilt I'm making. I believe I'll be done it sooner then I thought.
That's about it from me.
Sonja
Also, just a side note, we put our names in for the World Juniors for next year in Edmonton and we were informed tonight that we didn't get it. Oh well, looks like we will be spending time with family instead.

Sunny Skies
We eventually decided that it was time to go to the store and pick up milk for the week. We also got yogurt and some buns. It was sunny and clear, but cool because the wind was coming off of the ocean. We came back and had some lunch. It was leftover pizza from last night. It was so good, even the second time around. I have a new favorite pizza maker/pizza.
The rest of the afternoon was relaxing and we watched TV or I played some more Bond. Eventually it was time to make supper. Sonja made a spaghetti, chicken, and alfredo sauce concoction and I had chicken burgers. They were good once again.
After supper we watched Mythbusters and now the Simpsons is on.
I start my MRI courses tomorrow. Hopefully I can get home at a reasonable time and not be to tired to get a good start on it.

We started out by sleeping in. I did wake up around 5 this morning, trying to pretend like I didn't have to go to the bathroom. That's pretty much the worst. I held it off and heard Kitty racing around the house. She is so silly. She came into our room only once for a little scratch. She jumped up and spent a few minutes on my hip. I love her so much, even at that hour of the day. I don't think there is anything better then waking up, looking at the clock and deciding to spend a few more minutes in bed. I had a serious case of eye yuckamucka. It was pretty gross.
We finally got out of bed and went about our normal Saturday routine. Eating breakfast and then just kind of hanging around. I stitched pretty much all morning. Tyler did a lot of house work, which made me feel so great, but then after, I felt pretty bad. I don't like it when he does it all. I was stitching and had every intention of helping, but only one person can vacuum, and since that's the only house work we have to do it's difficult to share that one. But then Tyler also got the clothes ready for the laundry, a chore I usually forget about. Also a one man job.
We made up the grocery list and headed out to the Band Store. Upon arrival, we realized no one remembered to actually grab the list so we were there without any direction. We are wild people. Unfortunately the ferry hasn't come in in a while, so there wasn't much for selection. No milk or fresh veggies. Tyler found a cheese block that was mostly green with mold due to the huge slash in the plastic.
We got home and unloaded the food. I worked out and Tyler worked on the dishes. It was a good afternoon. Tyler played his Bond game and I'm pretty sure James Bond has the greatest theme music ever. Just saying.
After more stitching, I went to make supper, which was home made pizza. We tried a different recipe this time. The sauce was alfredo sauce, and the toppings included chicken doused in buffalo sauce, motza cheese and pineapple. It was a really awesome meal.
And our evening, well, not much really has been happening. I stitched, Tyler played some games and we just finished up a pretty funny movie. Tyler is playing a fishing game on the wii right now. Kitty just finished up cleaning her cone on the back of the couch and I'm blogging.
It's been a really great day!

I came home and Sonja was working out. I started to making some scrambled eggs and cheese with ham. I was thinking about it all day and how good it would be, but I was kinda disappointed with them. Maybe I over hyped it. Sonja thought it was good though. After supper we started to watch the Oilers game. They survived the first period 0-0, but a few minutes into the second it was 3-0 for Vancouver. We got fed up with that and are now watching Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.
No plans for rest of the night. Sonja is just stitching and I feel like I want to go to bed early. We'll see what happens.

Just another day
The morning was the same as every other weekday so we can skip right to the uneventful day. But then again, since it was uneventful there isn't much to tell you guys today. I got there and opened the detachment for the day. There were a few calls. Apparently there has been a pack of wolves running around this place for the last little while. So the street dogs are forming packs to protect themselves. That's about how exciting my calls were today.
I got home and popped the food in the over. Can you guys guess what we had? I had a chicken pita and Tyler had chicken burgers. Big surprise eh? It was good even though we eat that all the time.
We watched a movie and now we relax. I'm stitching and for the first time in a long time, Tyler isn't playing Golden eye. It's a relief not having to listen to those fake people die.
Early to bed for us. Tyler isn't feeling so well and I'm still recovering from my little sickness.
I'm so excited for Friday!

Also since I am the only one here, it means an extended work day. I went in at 8 and wpas there until 5. It seemed to go by pretty quick which was fortunate. I came home and found Sonja working out and watching the World Junior game. Canada was up 2-0 by the time I got home. I started to make some supper. We decided on hamburgers tonight. They were good. I have had trouble with them falling apart when I flip them over. I can't figure out a way to keep them together. I've used eggs, crackers and both and they still crumble. I am open to suggestions as to how to get them to stick. I also made fries to go with the meal.
After supper we started to watch more of the hockey game. Canada was winning 3-0 until Russia scored. Then they scored again 30 seconds later. Since Sonja doesn't handle win or die hockey games very well, we decided to stop watching, since they were doing pretty good before we started to really watch the game. So I turned to River Monsters on Discovery Channel. We kept switching back and forth checking on the score. Eventually it was 3-3 and then 3-4 for Russia. They scored again making it 3-5 and Canada lost the gold medal. We are not sure how that happened as they dominated Russia in the first two periods and fell apart allowing 5 goals in the third.
After the game I played a little bit of Goldeneye. We are now watching Minute to Win it, and Sonja is stitching. Probably go to bed kinda early because I am still trying to kick this cold. It kind of came back the other day with a cough and not to much voice.

Shot gun snoring
We went to bed last night and I couldn't fall asleep. My mind was thinking about many things, all of which really weren't important at that time of night. I didn't end up falling asleep until close to 1am. And apparently during the night when I was asleep, Tyler was also asleep having dreams that he was James Bond. He has done nothing but play his silly game for the last couple days so I guess it would make sense for him to dream about it. And then I woke him up with my snoring. Only, he says as he slowly came out of his sleep, he thought that my snores sounded like shot gun blasts. I thought it was pretty funny when he told me this afternoon.
This morning, I didn't even hear the alarm go off. Tyler had to nudge me awake. Not the best way to wake up. At least I was feeling a little better. I hope in and out of the shower, ate some breakfast and started to read my book. I'm really enjoying it so far. Very similar to his other books but I guess that's to be expected.
I went off to work and was stuck outside because I forgot the door code. And my co-worker is always at least 5 minutes late. And it was raining. Not a great start but it was soon to get better. I quickly learned that as I was away, no office people were working. The woman I am replacing was supposed to be at work, covering for the rest of us for the last 2 weeks. It turns out she didn't come to work either so there was a mountain of stuff for us to do. Not that I should about that because I can't do any of it right now, but it really sucks for my co-worker.
I typed a couple transcriptions and that kept me busy all day. I also did the mail for the last 2 weeks. I also learned that I will have full time for until at least the end of March. The woman I'm replacing decided she can't handle it right now and took another leave until that time. Good for me because I'm pretty sure she wont be coming back at all.
I came home and started to play some DDR. I want to get more active because it's way to easy to just sit around out here. Tyler was going to be coming home from work at 5 so that gave me enough time to work up a bit of a sweat. It turns out that Tyler didn't come home until 20 to 6 so I had lots of time to work out.
We were having tacos so I wasn't worried about putting anything in the oven. Tyler eventually did come home and by that time I was finished working out and helped him do dishes and we made supper together. We tried a new kind of taco seasoning. We usually use the clubhouse pack but this time we bought the old el paso stuff. It's not very good. I enjoy the clubhouse much better.
The Oilers are playing tonight so we were watching that. Tyler is flipping between his Bond game and the hockey game. I'm stitching. I have a short time line to get this one so I have to spend all my time on it.
Tomorrow is Wednesday and I'm pretty excited to be one day closer to the weekend. I know, who am I to be wanting the weekend after only one day of work... come on, give me a break. I've just been off for 2 weeks. It's okay to want some more.

After the grocery run, we came back and had some lunch. Sonja made some soup and I a chicken burger. I continued to play Goldeneye. It is super addicting. I am now hook as I played most of the day. While I was playing that, Sonja worked on a cross stitch and read. Super relaxing which is what you need to fully get over a cold.
Eventually Sonja started to make supper. We had classy chicken. Again it was delicious.
The day started out sunny this morning and by the afternoon it had started to rain. So the snow the is here will probably be gone by the morning.
I work late tomorrow so it will be a nice day to sleep in, unfortunately the rest of the week I work 8-5 since the person I work with is retiring. Its going to be a long week.

Jiggity jig
We spent New Years Eve with a bunch of friends, staying up late as required on a night like that. We played fun games and laughed a lot. I really do love and miss our friends. Tyler and I got back to the Jarrett's home late and got very little sleep. We were up shortly after to get ready for another busy day with family.
We headed over to Tyler's aunt and uncles home for a New Years day. It started out a little slow, mostly because we were all eating but it soon picked up and we were playing games and having lots of fun. Tyler apparently doesn't like playing games so he sat out when we opened up Cranium. There were only 6 of us playing but it was still super awesome. We played a few other games and soon it was time to go home again.
We drove home and it had started to snow. The roads weren't so bad at that time but I was a little worried about the morning. It was decided we would wake up pretty early in case the weather was going to be difficult for us.
Tyler was once again a tetras master and managed to get everything we had bought into our suitcases, and he managed to keep it under 50 pounds per bag. He's pretty awesome that way. I guess when you aren't transporting 4 huge salmon, there is room for our other stuff.
The horrible sound of my cell phone alarm rang at 4:30 this morning. No phone alarm sounds good, but it seems worse when it's so stupidly early like that. Luckily for us, we had everything packed and just needed to throw on some clothes. Also it was fortunate that Carolyn was dropping us off. Not fortunate for her because it was so early, and we do thank you for that :)
It was so snowy out there this morning. Combined with the fact that at that time of day, the roads are still fresh with no tire marks, it made for a slow and steady drive to the airport. But that's why you plan ahead. We made it in time and after one more goodbye (holding tears back), we entered the airport to make our journey home again.
It was mostly uneventful. We stood in line at the Tim Horton's for some breakfast and sat down to wait for our plane to come in. We thought that maybe we would get to see my cousin Matt as his flight was to depart 15 minutes after ours, but we never did. Our flight, as stated before, was uneventful and I'm glad about that. Any hiccups would have made me one grumpy traveller. I got to read a new book I bought with some Christmas money. It's called The Fall of Giants and it's by the only author that really interests me.
Soon enough we were in Vancouver. We had a bit of a lay over, but books have a way of passing the time well. Our flight to Bella Bella was loud but it got us here on time.
I'm pretty surprised how much snow this place has. When we left, it was green grass and warm weather. It was practically the tropics. Now, it's still warm but there's a bit of snow on the ground. We went home, unpacked and I got my little Kitty back again. She seems different and I'm pretty sure she has lost a bit of her stomach flab. She is just so cute and sweet.
We literally have no food in our place so we headed out to the store so we could at least eat something other then mustard and butter. There wasn't the usual crowd in front of the store, so we guessed it wasn't open. And we were right. It was disappointing. Tyler rummaged through the freezer to find some chicken burgers of the not real variety and he made us some lunch.
Tyler has been playing 007 Golden Eye all day. And it's a little freaky how good he is at it. But it's his favorite game in the world that he got for Christmas. It really makes me want to watch a really good spy movie. It makes me want to creepy around and play a cops and robbers type game.
I haven't done much today. I started another quilt and I've been reading. I caught a cold from some cute little cousins of Tyler and have been fighting it for about a week now. I hate being sick over holidays. It started out just being in my sinuses, but it recently moved into my chest and it's now causing me to dry cough. I get headaches so we bought some halls.
Right now, Kitty is sleeping on a fur blanket that her babysitter generously gave to us. Tyler just got red screened in his game and I'm about to quilt some more.
It's been a great last 2 weeks. I miss everyone of my family and friends and I wish we could live closer so its easier to see each other. I am glad to be home again. I've gotten use to the low stress lifestyle that we live out here. It's really interesting to me that being back here kind of makes me want to live out here longer then I thought I would. I actually consider this my home and although I want to live close to family, this will do for now.
Happy New Year!!!
