Today was a very good day.
I woke up after having a very nice sleep and had some lucky charms for breakfast. I didn't know what the day held for me but I was ready to face it. I watched a bit of tv before Amy woke up and also had breakfast.
The plan for the day consisted of preparing their house for all the guests who are coming over tomorrow. My cousin Penny is getting married and the church is really close to Amy and Aaron's house, so our family is having a little get together.
While we were planning what to do first, Eva called and asked if I wanted to help her spend her birthday money. I did want to. We haven't had much time together since I've been back, so this would be perfect.
Before I left, I started the lawn mower for Amy and vaccumed their house. Then Amy dropped me off at the LRT and I was on my way to South Gate mall. On a side note, I think it's stupid that the price to ride the train is $5.50. That's not a nice round amount that you can pay with just one bill.
Any way, as I climbed the stairs at the LRT by South Gate, I ran into a familiar face. A family friend, Tim Vandenbrink was walking down the stairs as I was walking up. I haven't seen him in so long. We stopped and chatted for a while. We were standing on the stairs and these 2 old men walk down the stairs. Here is the exact quote one of them said to us - "What a stupid place to have a conversation. How dumb can you be?" I had no choice but to laugh at him for being a grumpy old man. We weren't blocking any stair traffic and he got down just fine. We wrapped up our conversation and I met up with Eva.
We had a great day together. It's always great to hang out with sisters. We did basic mall stuff - walked around a lot, looked at items to buy. I treated Eva to lunch, which consisted of a small blizzard and a mango julius. Both were so good. We talked about sister things and it was really awesome to catch up. Living far away inhibits good conversation with people, so it felt so great to actually talk with her. She spent her birthday money and we laughed some more. There is nothing better then sisters...I have 2 great sisters.
The plan for the evening involved going to Red Robins with Amy's friends. We were all meeting at 6:30 and I got to the Clairview LRT station at 5. I figured that instead of someone picking me up from the very place we are eating din din is silly. I had a quest for a DDR mat and the mall didn't have any. I was told Walmart should have them so I walked there and since a bunch of teenaged hooligans were "helping" me, I didn't find what I needed. I did buy cooling trays though. I searched high and low for a DDR mat and was disappointed at all turns. Apparently I could only have a mat if I bought another game. But it was the same game Tyler bought me and that idea was just silly.
I took a chance on the last store I could. EB games. It turns out that they are the largest distributor of products in the district so of course they had the mats. The guy who was helping me almost tore off his thumb trying to get out from behind his desk, but he turned out ok. I got the mat and went to reserve seats at Red Robins.
We all eventually met up and had a really great time together. There was a 10 weeks old baby who joined us and I think he is the cutest baby I have ever seen. I didn't know how the evening would go, seeing that these were Amy's friends and not mine. It was a great time though. We all ate way to much and talked and laughed a lot.
We are at home now, bellies full. There is talk of watching a movie. I am going to call Tyler once I am done typing this out.
I super excited about Penny's wedding tomorrow. It's almost been 4 months since our wedding, which is crazy. It's funny how the day takes so long to get here, and then everything just zooms right on by. I also can't believe we have been living out in Bella Bella for almost 3 months. It's just crazy.
I miss Tyler. It's been to long and I don't like it. I get to see him in 2 days.
I love you babe. I miss you and I can't wait to see you again!!!!!
