Well last night I was super tired and couldn't keep my eyes open so I went to bed just before 9 and fell asleep right away. I put some ear plugs in so the cat wouldn't disturb my sleep. It worked awesomely and I was able to sleep very well all night and not hear the cat. I woke up rested and started to get ready for work. I got to work and it was kinda busy for a few hours this morning. All of the doctors are around so it has picked up a little bit this week. After coffee however it slowed down, still not as slow as it was last week.

It rained most of the day so we were hoping for it to clear up so we could try walking down to the ferry. It cleared up after lunch for a bit, but by the time supper came around and we were ready to go it started raining. We decided to wait for a bit and let it rain itself out. It did so we left a few minutes later. We walked along the shore for about 15 minutes until it started pouring on us again. We decided to turn back and we came home. We have spent the rest of the night watching Talladega Nights and I made some popcorn. Now Minute to Win It is on while we wait for America's Got Talent. No real plans for the rest of the night. Sonja is excited to not have to go into work tomorrow.

Second last day!

So last night wasn't a treat. Kitty was bugging us from around 5-7am. And that wasn't a great way to wake up. Luckily, it didn't severely hinder how the rest of the day turned out.

We got up and showered. Tyler made some pancakes, which were really good. Then we just went to work. My day went pretty quickly even though there wasn't much for me to scan. Or do. I did laugh a bit, which was nice. I did spend almost an hour on the phone trying to fix a computer problem. It was a little annoying. I was volun-told to call the medical system's call centre to fix a problem that really didn't have anything to do with me. In all reality, not much concerns me at work these days, it being my last day tomorrow and all. But, I did my best and, after an hour on the phone, I went for lunch. The person on the other end made it easier to sit on hold and put up with him not really knowing how to help me. And then, when I went for lunch, he figured out how to fix the problem. It was pretty easy on my end.

The work day ended and I came home to the smell of dinner being cooked. Tyler made home-made mac and cheese. It was super tasty. I could eat that every day. Tomorrow is my last day of work at the clinic. I doubt much will happen, as is the trend there. I am still excited about it. I got a little nervous about it today because I know what I will be doing for the majority of the time, but then there is the time where I don't feel like reading, or dusting or what ever else I plan on doing. I know I will find stuff to do, but I just got a bit nervous. I do still have the RCMP, so that is pretty awesome.

Tonight, we were supposed to walk to the ferry, but surprise surprise, it started to rain and now we can't even see the Coast Guard. Its pretty rainy out there. So, instead, we did nothing. I did some cross-stitching while Tyler did his own thing. We are working our way through the 21st season of the Simpsons. It's kind of a waste of time, but, come on, it's raining.

We will likely go to bed early because we know Kitty will be scratching at our door at 5am. One more day of work.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

Relax

Today was a nice relaxing day, I got to sleep in which isn't something I usually get to do while I am on call, so that was nice. After we got up Sonja made us pancakes for breakfast. They were very good. Shortly after breakfast I got a call to go to work. I was there for about half an hour and came home. Today was a nice relaxing day. We watched TV and a few movies. We watched Liar Liar which I haven't seen for a long time so it was pretty funny. We made some lunch and tried to clean up some leftovers from the week. Trying to clean out the fridge. After we had lunch we did the dishes and spent the rest of the night snacking and relaxing on the couch. I spent some time in the hammock before the breeze got to be to cold. We just finished watching Shutter Island. It was alright I thought. Sonja thought it was scary, but it really wasn't. Soon it will be bedtime. Tomorrow We are going to try to go to the ferry where the salmon will hopefully be running. It should be cool if they are.

That was our day.

Today was a great day. Because today is Saturday and because I got to sleep in.

Last night, Kitty kept us up all night, so it wasn't a great sleep, but I woke up at 10:45. It was really good. I could have even slept more, but that would be ridiculous.

Tyler had to go to work pretty early but I was still asleep, so it was alright. And then nothing. Today was a pretty boring and uneventful. We ate some breakfast, lunch, made out or menu for this week. Then we went shopping. As we were paying, I heard the sound of a tiny little puppy. I went outside to investigate and there he was. A sweet little yellow lab pup tied to the back of the delivery truck. He was oh so cute and I wanted to take him home. Tyler wouldn't let me and I think Kitty wouldn't want to have a friend. He wasn't one of the strays that run the town so the person who actually owns him probably would have missed him. I only take other peoples cats.

We came home and unpacked out groceries. Tyler went out fishing and I read my new book reading thing. There aren't many good books on there. Most of them are really tough to read because they don't make much sense. I'll try harder to read them in a few weeks when I'm super bored. Tyler caught 5 fish and he was only out there for about half an hour. When he came home, it was time to start supper. We made Classy Chicken, one of the best meals ever invented. As we were eating, Tyler yells, "WHALE!", and right close by, a humpback whale showed us his back and tale. He was super close. He was going away from us, so he only got smaller but it's still always cool to see one.

As we were out whale watching, we saw the RCMP boat and as they docked, they bought off a prisoner. I was expecting to get called into go guard, but it never happened. They always seem to call me over the weekend. I'm kind of glad they haven't called me yet because I'm a little tired and would like to spend some time on a weekend night with Tyler. It still doesn't mean I wont get called, but at least for right now, I'm still at home.

I made a great smoothie earlier today for a little snack. I threw in the usual strawberries and banana, but also added peaches and blueberries. It was so good.

Tonight looks like it will be pleasant. Just more relaxing and hanging out with my main man. I recently (yesterday) had a little discovery about myself and . Just for some lead-up, before we moved out here and before I knew I would have a summer job, I was a little afraid. I always said that I would have nothing to do out here, and that I don't think I would like it at all because I'll be bored. I thought I would be a depressed having to quit my two jobs that I worked hard to get and move out here to the middle of nowhere and do nothing. My discovery was this: I was crazy! I am, right now, looking at 2 more days of working at the clinic. I was thinking about how excited I am to be done with this job. I don't enjoy office work, looking at computers all day, doing things I didn't go to school for. This was a job that I didn't enjoy. Not enjoying it has made me really appreciate the time I'm going to have off soon. I no longer look at myself doing "nothing" out here like I use to. I no longer see it as a waste of time to sit at home, mainly because I don't plan on just sitting around all day. I have plans that I never thought I would want to do. I'm actually excited about cooking dinner for us. I'm kind of excited about cleaning the house, and doing laundry. I'm going to be a house wife and I'm actually excited to be that. The time at this current job has given me appreciation for the time I'm about to get. I have only started to realize what a blessing this is. I do know I will get bored on some days. I know I wont enjoy doing the house work all the time. I'm not disillusioned to think it will be flowers and glitter all day, every day. It will be hard for me to not have a job. Not including this last one, a job is something I've always strived to have. I went to school so I could have a good job. But, I figure if I can look at it more as a blessing rather then with the negatives, I will be able to fully enjoy this opportunity.

Well, nothing is planned for us tonight. Hope you all enjoy your Saturday night.

It's the weekend

Well today is finally Friday. It has been a long week. Probably because it was so slow all week. Until today. It was still kinda slow, but had picked up substantially. The day started out quite differently. I had an x-ray to do in the ER. It was just a shoulder that I had to do. So I did them and her shoulder was completely dislocated. So it was an interesting start to an otherwise slow day and week. After the x-rays were done the day continued to be slow. However it was still busier today than any other day this week.
After work was done we came home and I made some supper. We had burgers, Sonja had a chicken burger and I made some deer burgers. I have been trying to make them so that they don't fall apart and dry out. So this time I put mayonnaise in the mix. It worked out pretty good. It was moister and didn't fall apart. Still wasn't perfect but I'm getting the recipe down. Soon they will be delicious. After supper we went for a walk. I was told to come check out someone's smoke house so we went to see it. They had just finished smoking another batch so it was empty. I told him that I'll be back when it was full again. He also showed us all the salmon that they have canned in the last week or so. Their canning pot can apparently hold 5 cases of jars at once!! We were sent home with some smoked salmon and a jar of canned salmon. The smoked salmon was really good but the canned stuff has yet to be tried.

We are home now and are just going to relax and watch some Simpsons. Just a few interesting facts that I discovered. Since Monday we have got 106mm of rain, which for everyone who doesn't know how much that is it's 4.1 inches in the last four days. Since we have been here there has been here in may there has been 348.5mm of rain or 13.7 inches! The weekend looks to be pretty nice, not hot but nice and the sun will be out. It will counter out the week of rain we had.

Thats all for me.

Another day, another dollar.

Lets start with last night. Tyler put me to bed at 10pm because he was going into work at 11 and I was super tired. I laid in bed and didn't fall asleep. I heard Tyler leave and finally was able to zone out. I was actually asleep, I think and when I opened my eyes to find Tyler standing at the door. He had come home and didn't make a sound. I have no idea why I woke up, because Tyler was like a mouse. And the night happened. Neither of us could get to sleep pretty much all night. Kitty was wanting to come into our room (We had closed the door so we could get some sleep) so Tyler got up and let her in. It's all fine for him to let her in because she doesn't sleep on his shoulder. She doesn't walk all over him. She only bugs me. I had to kick her out. She has gotten into the habit of chewing on the plug ins and I don't want her to get zapped.

So then morning happened. We got up, showered and ate breakfast. Work was alright for me. Not to much happened, but it was actually kind of fun. We had some laughs so the day went a little faster.

I love getting things in the mail. Last week, we ordered an Ereader. Basically its a machine that we can download books onto Well any way, it came today and that made me super excited. Now, when I am out of a job, I can enjoy some classic books. It came with 100 books already on it.

Well, I hope to go to bed and actually sleep well tonight.

One more day until Friday.

Sun came out

Well today it started out raining again but it cleared up before lunch. The pavement started to dry out and the sun started to peek through. However we aren't done with the rain as it is in the forecast for tonight and until Saturday. It's supposed to be sunny over the weekend, but not the temperatures we were seeing couple weeks ago. I'm still on-call this week and it has been pretty slow until tonight. I had to stay late, which is always weird when I don't do to much all day and have to stay, but it all goes into the same account. I have been called back once already tonight and will be going back in two hours.

I came home and Sonja had done the dishes and peeled and cut potatoes for tonight. We had a back strap roast and potatoes and gravy. It was super good. The meat was cook just enough that it didn't dry out like deer can do, and was just little bit rare in the middle. It pretty much melted in our mouths. Sonja ate too much and had a sore stomach tonight. We spent the rest of the night relaxing on the couch. Not anything on the plan for the rest of the night. I'm off to work again and then to bed.

This week, I get to work with some different people. My usual co-workers are away on vacation for the rest of my time with the clinic and they brought in another woman and the girl I'm replacing. It's been really nice to have some new people to work with. And it's nice to have someone my own age around. The other woman is about 70 years old and its a little frustrating watching her work. This is only because she has never used a computer and she doesn't do the job she was brought in to do. She was brought in to answer the phones. That's really all she has to do but I'm pretty sure I've answered more phones today and yesterday then I have the rest of the summer. I really don't have a problem with it because it gives me something to do. It's just annoying when she is just talking about personal things and not doing her job. But, it's all right. Like I say, it gave me something to do and I wont be around to witness the aftermath of all the mistakes I might be making.

Today started way to early. Once again, the alarm rang with it's dreaded song and we just wanted to roll over and ignore it. But we submitted to its calling and ended up in the shower, ate breakfast and went off to work.

Then work happened. The girl I'm replacing was there for about 10 minutes before she had to go home again. She wasn't feeling good and spent a lot of time in the bathroom, so she went home. The older woman didn't show up until late. I was by myself, not doing much for the morning. It was nice to be alone like that.

The day went on and there wasn't much activity. I got to come home early so I started dinner and did the dishes. For din din tonight, Tyler cooked up some currie chicken, with rice. I chopped up some red, yellow and orange peppers and mixed that in with the rice. I really liked it. It tasted like I probably will make it again.

Tonight has already involved one round of Mariokart, which I won. And one tickle fight, which I also won. Tyler will tell you he won because he picked me up and threw me on the couch, but he was the one who squealed more (So I won!). We are just relaxing again. We are both tired so nothing is on the menu for tonight.

It's early to bed tonight. I'm excited.

It's raining

Yesterday was a good day for me but last night wasn't so great. It started after we went to bed. Sonja fell asleep and so did I, but she must have been having a better sleep than I because she was laughing and talking in her sleep. So loud that it actually woke me up from my sleep around 12:30. I than had to go to the bathroom and had a headache. I spent the next hour trying to get back to sleep but I couldn't seem to be able to. Sonja continued to talk in her sleep a few more times. I woke up again around 4:30 when Sonja went to the bathroom. At five the cat was limping around and being dumb. We woke up and got ready for work.

Work again was pretty slow. Everyone is trying to can and finish up their fish from the weekend. There are still 13 totes of fish left that haven't found homes yet. I rotated ours so they will all freeze before they go bad. The ones in the middle were still very soft at lunch. I went back to work and I don't remember anything happening. I did a couple x-rays but that is all. I came home and Sonja was doing dishes. She got off at 4:30 or so and had supper started. I made rockfish that I caught last weekend. It turned out good. It doesn't compare to all the salmon we have now, but it was still good. I had ice cream for dessert and Sonja made a smoothie. We watched some TV as we decided it was a relaxing night for tonight. As we settled down I got a callback so money in the bank for me. I am home now and we are watching minute to win it. I made some popcorn, and Sonja is still eating her smoothie. Finally the weather is co-operating with my on-call schedule as it rained all day and is forecasted to all week.

Hope you enjoyed the pictures from our day yesterday.

Explanation

I just thought I'd clarify the whole "Initiated Indian" title of the last blog. Many times during the day, the actual native people called Tyler the white indian, and that by making him clean the fish, he is now "Initiated".

Initiated Indian

Well, today was probably the best day we've had in a long long time. It was eventful! It was exciting! There's a lot to say so I best get at it.

It started with me getting to sleep in until 11am. It's been forever since that has happened. I guess I was pretty tired. I got up and Tyler was already awake for a while so I cuddled with him on the couch, still in a half sleep haze. Then he yells one glorious word - "WHALE!". We raced out to the balcony because Tyler saw a whale off by the coast guard, which is across the channel. We were looking really hard to see him again, when suddenly, right in front of our house, no further then the spit, another whale spouted and came out of the water. It startled me so much. I almost peed my pants a little. So we went into drill mode. We raced around the house, trying to find shoes, socks, appropriate shirts (as I was still in my pjs) and our camera. We got out there, joining a co-worker who raced out there with no shoes on, just socks. We ended up watching 2 different whales in two different directions. Both whales flashed us their tales a couple times and I think we got a few good pictures. Those will be posted either on facebook or or on the blog. It was incredible how close the whale got to the shore, about 50 feet away. Both whales were headed in opposite directions away from us so we soon lost them.

That co-worker who joined us told us that we should join her and some other co-workers who were going to be cleaning some sockeye salmon down on the warf. 2 big fishing boats came in yesterday and brought in 23,000 of these fish. Every person in the village got about 60 fish for free because the owner of this boat has family who lives in Bella Bella. We went down and Tyler was immediately in Heaven.

There were about 5 of us to start. We each manned our own stations. Tyler was handed a fillet knife and was shown the traditional way to cut a salmon so you can easily smoke it. For the most part, Tyler and the guy we were helping out, Carl, just gutted the fish, and didn't fillet them. I was part of the cleaning team. The bloody gutted fish would be put into another tote. The 3 of us women would put these fish into another bucket of water and get all the nasty stuff off it. Then we put it in the last tote where it would sit and get covered with ice.

It was long day of fish cleaning. Tyler was covered in blood. The boat was covered in blood. But it was such a great day. It was super fun to hang out people who are easy going and really knowledgeable about their culture. It was also fun to see Tyler get convinced into taking most of his clothes off and jump into the freezing cold ocean. Now he really doesn't have any excuse for when we are out at Slave Lake and doesn't want to go in. He will be going in!

We just got home and Tyler's hand still smell like fish. He has washed them 3 times and he has showered. Oh, our current salmon count is 17. That was our payment for helping out today. Tyler still wants to try to catch one himself.

It's sad because Kitty was along all day long and I think she's a little mad at us. Perhaps if she could taste the fish we just brought home, she'd lighten up a little. It was beautiful day today. The sun was out and it was glorious.

We will put up pictures of our day soon.

Fishing in the rain

Today was a nice relaxing day. I couldn't really sleep in to much I was dozing from 7:30 till 9:30 when I finally got up. Since Sonja didn't get home until three this morning she slept in later. So until she got up I surf the internet, looking for fishing tips and whatnot. Sonja got up just as I started putting the shopping list together. She made us pancakes for breakfast and then we went to the store to get our groceries. After groceries I went out to the pier to try my luck at some salmon again. It was raining most of the day. I managed to go when it kinda let up for a bit. I caught 4 fish this afternoon. I was using a lure that I didn't know I had. Apparently it works pretty good, just not for catching salmon.
All I caught was this rock fish. I'm not sure what kind it is, I will be searching the web to find out and see if they are keepable. If their that easy to catch and legal limit, easy fishing. We also saw a cruise ship sail past on its way to Alaska. It looked like a smaller one, but a cruise ship none the less.

Since yesterday was my cousin Danielle's 1st birthday yesterday, the party was today. When I came back in from fishing I called to wish her a happy birthday and to talk with the family that has gathered there. I was able to talk to my other cousin Gavin who is starting to talk. He said "Hi Tyler." He's pretty cute. After talking with everybody I looked outside and saw that there was a whale out in the channel. Sonja and I rushed out there to see if we could get some pictures. Unfortunately it was pouring rain again, making it to foggy to see him. I was also to far away to see through the fog with the camera.

I made pizza again for supper. It kinda worked this time, except the dough didn't rise like it should have. But it was at least tasty when it was all cooked up. After supper I went out fishing again as it was low tide, meaning I could stand closer to the deep water of the channel and my cast can get to the big fish zone. I caught another two fish. Both rock fish of sorts, still not sure what exactly they were. I came back in and made some popcorn. We are now watching Rendition, and I will continue my search for the type of fish I caught today.

Picture of the whale. Unfortunately taken from my phone, so not the best quality.

Picture of the whale. You can see the buoy above him. The buoy is probably hundred feet from where I was fishing, making the whale much closer than that. This was also before he waved his tail at me.

That was our day today. More fishing for me tomorrow. Perhaps at the ferry if the weather breaks.

WEEKEND!!!

God is good, all the time! All the time, God is good! And the weekends are good too.

Ahhh, this is my favorite time. Right after work on a Friday evening. This is the point of the weekend where we have the most time to look forward to and it's so exciting. I love the weekend. Especially since I've been so tired all week. It's been pretty bad.

This morning was uneventful, starting with an alarm. I wanted to keep sleeping, as did everyone I imagine. After a breakfast of, you guessed it, honeynut cheerios, we were off to work. I'm kind of excited to go shopping this week because I'm going to get new cereal. We pretty much have only eaten honeynuts and rice krispies since we got here, and I'm a little sick of those kinds. I can only handle so much. They just happen to be the only ones that come two bags in one box, therefore giving us the better deal pricewise. Not sure what I'm going to get, but I will keep you updated with that vital information.

I'm happy to report that for the first time in a long time, I was busy at work today, for a long amount of time. Man, it feels good to actually work hard and get things accomplished. I had some scanning to do, and then we learned that the specialist who was coming out this weekend, missed his ferry and cancelled all his appointments. That meant that I had to call everyone and tell them the bad news. I was busy up until my 3pm break. I find that when I'm actually contributing to something instead of just sitting there, waiting for paper to be passed to me, I'm a happier person. I love working hard. It drags me down when I have nothing to do. It makes me lazy and I don't like that. So, today was a great day because I was busy for a good majority of it.

I got to come home early but still get paid for the full day because my co-workers are leaving tonight on the ferry, and needed to get home ASAP to pack all their stuff. That worked out fine for me because I was getting really anxious to leave. I had received several pictures of whales from Tyler who was fishing out on the rock pier. He said the whale came so close he could see his barnacles. I was jealous as the last time I saw a whale was before June. As soon as I was released from work, I ran down to where Tyler was but the whale had already left. I was sad. Tyler let me cast his fishing rob though, and on my first cast, I got a huge bite. There is no fish to show for it, but it was pretty exciting.

We headed back home and I took a shower. After I got out of the shower, Tyler yelled that he could see the whale again, over by the ferry. And I finally saw myself another whale. He was far away but it's still really neat to see one.

I didn't plan anything for din din tonight so I wasn't sure what we were going to have. Tyler re-heated some leftover spaghetti and meat sauce while I laid with Kitty on the floor in the sun. I accidentally took a quick nap and Tyler woke me up with supper on the table. It was good for being pretty old leftovers.

We are both tired again tonight so there isn't anything planned for tonight. Even though that's how most of our nights go, it's still nice to be able to relax on a Friday night. There's something about not having to go to work the next day that makes it great to do nothing on this beloved night. I'm so excited for sleeping in this week. I think I've been so tired since I worked all Sunday night and haven't been able to recover properly yet. Oh sweet sweet sleep, how I love you!

Happy Birthday to little D. Today, she turned 1. I can't believe it's been one year already!! Happy birthday. We are sorry we can't be there to help celebrate with you guys! Have a great day.

Enjoy tonight!

Strike

Well again it was a long slow day so I'll skip that. I dealt with three patients. I guess it is to be expected when the town is a fishing based community. Most people are out fishing all of the time so they won't be bothered to come to the doctor unless they are really feeling out of it. After work I tried my hand at catching salmon before Sonja came home. I just went at the end of the rock pier. I took out my new rod which I finally got working properly. It used to be jerky when reeling in but I re-strung it and now it works like it should. I was just casting, minding my business when a fish jumped out of the water 10 feet from me. It scared me pretty good because it was so unexpected. Then fish started to jump all around me. I thought for sure I was to catch one then. Suddenly as I was just about done reeling in my line I saw a silver flash swim by slap my hook with his tail. Apparently thats how salmon feed is that they swim through a school of bait fish and swat at them, then they turn around and see which ones are most disoriented or injured and eat them. And thats exactly what this fish did. Except on the swat he swatted my hook out of the water, so when he would have turned around, there would have been nothing there. It was pretty exciting almost having a salmon finally. I will continue the pursuit, trying to figure these fish out. My line started getting twisted so I decided to call it a day. I came home and met Sonja on her way home and we made supper. It was another experimental meal, but this time it was good. We both enjoyed it. I cut up some peaches and sugared them and we had those for dessert. The rest of the night will be relaxing. Sonja is tired and we will probably go to bed early.

One year!

Well, today was another day. Another day to sit around and "work". It was quite the day.

Last night, we went to bed early because we were both super tired. I woke up and went to the bathroom and soon after Tyler went to the bathroom too. A little while later, I woke up again, I thought Kitty was under the bed being loud and keeping me awake. I turned on the light, surprisingly not waking Tyler, to see what she was doing. There was nothing under the bed. I was super confused because I know what I heard.

The alarm rang way too early and we didn't want to get up. But we did. We always do. After the morning routine, we both left for work. And that's pretty much all I have to say about that. Because it was extremely slow, I almost fell asleep many times. It was such a slow day. I was all caught up by 11am, and thats later then it would have been. The internet wasn't working, so I couldn't get my medical system up and running for a long time. When I did, it took a grand total of 20 minutes to get caught up, thus providing me with the rest of the day to day dream and think about what else I would rather be doing. It was a long day for me.

My favorite part of coming home, besides the obvious, is that I get to walk through some rose bushed that line our walkway. They smell so great. It makes the walk home a lot sweeter.

When I cam home, Tyler had already started dinner. I had picked a few recipes this week that were a little strange but that looked good. The one that we had today was a huge flop. It wasn't good at all really. It was good try at something new that didn't turn out...oh well.

Tonight we are both still super tired so there isn't much on our agenda. That's not a huge surprise. Right now, Kitty is laying on my lap and my arm as I'm trying to type this. She is still limping around, which of course makes me so sad. At least now she isn't always hiding in her fort. She is out walking around, so I think thats good for her leg.

I have been celebrating today. One year ago Tyler proposed to me while we were on a picnic in the back area of his parents place. I remember it clearly: it started to rain so we were packing up our picnic. I was ready to go but Tyler needed to put the camera in his backpack. That would be when he actually asked me. There were tears and hugs and it was amazing. I can't believe that it was already a year ago. Lots of things have happened this year - I got 2 pretty stressful jobs that took me away from doing normal human things. I planned our wedding, I found a wedding dress, christmas, more work, I worked a lot in those 6 months. And then the main event for me this year: Our wedding. I love that day. But then we moved away to BC and it's slowed down a lot. This was a crazy year.

Early to bed tonight!

Fish

Well again as you may have guessed it was pretty slow today. It started out busy in the morning but quickly changed gears. I was tired most of the day. I walked to the ferry terminal last night to try salmon fishing. I didn't catch any salmon. Just one tiny rock fish. I already have enough of them in the freezer so it wasn't worth my time to keep another one. I was going to go again tonight but I was to tired after supper. Our plan is to do it on the weekend. Spend most of the day there maybe and actually catch something. I need to figure out what to do right in order to catch one. Perhaps at low tide because then I could stand closer to the deep part to cast.

After work today though I made supper. We had cajun chicken pasta. It was pretty good. After we did dishes and Sonja made some smoothies. We also had some popcorn. We watched Dangerous Catch:After the Catch and are now watching minute to win it. I might go to bed after this because I am very tired.

Sonja wanted me to talk about the cat. She hurt herself somehow last night and has been limping and meowing since then. She has been super mopey too.

Thats all for now.

Hmm, not to sure what to say in this blog. Since I worked all night, today was a sleeping day. And since I worked midnight to 8am this morning, nothing happened last night either.

Well, last night, as mentioned, was uneventful. I arrived at work at 12:00am and quickly set up shop. I brought a cross-stitching project and opened up Tyler's computer. Throughout the night, I watched 3 movies. Sex and the City 2, Valentines Day, and I love you, Man. Then I watched a few episodes of The Simpsons. It was kind of a stupid way to spend the night, watching tv all night. I don't like that, but it really makes the time go by without me getting tired.

As I left the detachment at 8am, the sun seemed so bright. It hurt my eyes and I could barely open them. I met up with Tyler on my way home. He was going to work. After a hug and a kiss, I entered out home and eat a little cereal before heading to bed. Surprisingly, I couldn't sleep right away. I had to relax myself and I didn't actually get to sleep until probably around 9.

I woke up again at 12:15 to find Tyler laying next to me. It was great to see him again, but I fell asleep again right away. The next time I woke up, Tyler was coming home from work. It was 4pm and I slept all day. That's going to bite me in the butt later tonight as I wont be able to sleep.

I got out of bed and still felt so tired. We did the dishes, which hadn't been done all weekend. We also made chicken burgers for dinner. Tyler is fishing down at the ferry terminal and I got a text from him saying he had caught something but wasn't sure what it was. We will both go out tomorrow. I wasn't up for joining him today as I'm still about to fall asleep.

Our night doesn't look super thrilling. Depending on what time Tyler comes home, I will be sitting here by myself, just enjoying Kitty and my cross-stitching project.

There is a 2 week countdown to the end of my job at the clinic. My last day is the last day in August. There isn't any other job opportunities out here, so I have already thought out my days to come. But that is in 2 weeks. That can wait.

Anyway, Monday is over. Who's ready for Tuesday?

Also, what is pretty cool... Eva is about to finish up her schooling. She texted me and said she only has 3 more shifts as a student. Good job Eva!!! Love you tons!

Hot Again

So it was blazing hot again today. Sonja came home this morning just after 8 this morning. I then went to work and Sonja went to bed. I came home and made some breakfast. Just as I finished up I got called back to work. I needed to do an x ray on a woman. I came home again and sat in the hammock for an hour or so. I got hungry and made a chicken burger for lunch. Sonja was still asleep. I went back out to the hammock to spend more time in the sun. It was a relaxing day for me while I waited for Sonja to wake up. After she got up she made herself some pancakes and then we went to the store to finish shopping as the ferry came in this morning. We got our milk, yogurt and a few other things. We came back and tried to cool down. We bought some ice cream so we had a bowl. It was pretty good, for being a no name brand. We didn't really do anything all day. Sonja was still tired so she took a nap this afternoon and I watched some TV.

It was really foggy and smokey today. I guess all of the fires on the mainland are making their way out here. The fish were also jumping a lot today. All day I would hear a splash and see fish jump multiple times.

Not to much for the rest of the night. Sonja goes back to work at the RCMP at midnight and will be there until 8.

Saturday

Today was a good day. Saturdays are the highlight of our week, no matter what we do.

Tyler got a call early, at 7:15am, to go to work. I continued to sleep and I slept until Tyler woke me up at 9:30. I was a little upset that he woke me up, because I was pretty much out of it. He wanted to eat breakfast with me because he was going out for a few hours. I woke up and there was already pancakes on the table. They were so good because my love made them for me. We had a lovely time together.

Tyler went out fishing with the person he works with. They were gone for a while, so I cleaned the house, did the dishes so that when Tyler came home, we could just enjoy the day without worrying about that kind of stuff. Tyler came home and said he had a bunch of fish he had to fillet.

I went down to the beach where it soon looked like a massacre took place. Tyler was using a really cheap knife so it didn't look very nice after. Tyler caught 1 grey cod, 1 ling cod, and 4 rock cod, and 1 mystery fish. Good job, hun!

Then we came inside, Ty showered and we planned to go shopping for food. While Ty was out fishing, I made the menu. I'm trying some new recipes from our cook books. We will see how they turn out, but just to give you a clue as to what I am making, one of the recipes calls for crushed chips and almonds. I'm excited about these new recipes. It should be good to have some thing other then just pasta or just chicken. New is good!

We went out shopping and it cost us a little more then usual, but that's ok. We unpacked once we got home and just relaxed the rest of the day. We were on the hammock, we made lunch and supper together. We just had a great day together. Tyler took a nap and I should have. I should have because I just got a call from the RCMP. I get to go into work from 10 until 8 tomorrow morning. It's a little daunting because now I get to stay awake until tomorrow morning, which always makes me feel super strange. If you ever have stayed up all night, you know what I'm taking about. If not, well, try it and you will see that it really messes you up but surprisingly you can still function almost normally. Any way, I have to go in tonight, and then I go in again tomorrow from midnight to 8 monday morning. That is good news because then I don't have to go to the clinic then. It's a good deal.

The rest of the night looks like work for me. Tyler might continue to watch tv since I'm not here. I feel like this is how life will be like now. There isn't much activity in this village other then the weekend. People don't do anything other then on the weekend. It's too bad because it's almost our only full days together, and we don't get to spend the rest of the night together. At least I do enjoy this job, as much as it does suck that I have to go in at night.

Any way, Kitty has found a new sleeping spot. It's on top of Tyler's dresser on one of his sweaters. It's pretty cute. We have taken her cone off and although she still scratches, it's not at her ear wound. She slept really good last night, I think because she was de-coned.

I hope to have a good night tonight and I hope Tyler does to, and all of you reading this.

Late

Sorry for the late post. We were going to bed and I realized that nobody had posted anything today. But as you may have guessed it was a very slow and boring day at work today. Apparently most of the town is out of town so not many people needed medical attention today. Sonja got off at 3 today and came home and she played DDR. I came home at 5 and we started to make supper. We had buffalo wings. They were spicy and good. After supper we sat in the hammock for a bit. It was super hot today, at one point it hit 32. I haven't felt the temperature that hot in a very long time. It was very different hot. It wasn't the dry unbearable hot that we are used to in Alberta. But it instead didn't seem that warm until you looked at the thermometer and it told you otherwise. We decided to watch Date Night this evening. It was pretty funny. After the movie we went back to the hammock and sat for a bit. The fish were jumping and so I thought it would be a good time to go fish. I was wrong. The sun was almost down and I was using a spoon so not much light was getting reflected. The fish probably didn't even know my hook was there. I came home and sat down and then my phone rang, so it was off to work for me. It has been a slow week on call to so it was nice to get a call back. I came home at 10 and it was already very dark, but still warm. We were watching 20/20 until we decided to go to bed.

Thats it for now.

Let me just set you up for how the blog is going to go...my day was boring. But I will try to make in as interesting as possible.

I actually got a decent sleep last night. We went to bed at 10ish last night and I didn't get woken up until 5ish by the kitty. Most people have higher standards then that on what a decent night sleep is, but to me, sleeping most of the night without a coned kitty in your face is great. But then 5 came and there she was, in all her coned glory, being a huge brat. I have less love for her at that time, so I brought her outside the room and shut the door. She only scratched for a little bit and then left us alone to get back to sleep.

We got up, showered and I made French toast. It was pretty good. I like making breakfast but I don't like how much time is takes out of the morning routine. It's better then cereal, but perhaps I will get in the habit of making breakfast the night before. Sounds like a good idea I stole from my mom.

The work day was boring. I was all caught up before 9am, which is never a good thing. I texted with Amy most of the day. I scanned what little came into me as soon as I got it. It was a pathetic way to spend a day. I actually cleaned my desk and work area. I rearranged where I keep my paper clips. It was a very boring day for me.

We got home and I DDR'ed a bit while Tyler started on dinner. He made a very tasty lasagna. We did the dishes from the day while it was cooking, then we ate. And it was very good. Lasagna is Tyler's specialty.

Tonight we plan on going for a walk since it is still pretty warm outside. Then the rest of the night is a mystery. Probably make some popcorn and watch a movie. That seems to be a growing trend in our little family.

I also want to congratulate my cousin and his fiance on the birth of their 2nd daughter. From the pictures, she is so sweet and cute.

Hope it wasn't to boring for you guys.

Bites

Well today was a different day. It was steady for most of the morning which was nice because it made lunch come a whole lot quicker. At lunch I came home and had leftovers from last night which was just as good the first time as the second time, which is saying a lot because I am not a fan of leftovers usually. After lunch I went back to work and hammered out x-rays for 11 patients. It was the busiest x-ray has been the whole time I have been here. It felt like I was working in a real hospital. For an hour and and forty-five minutes straight I did x-rays. It was then coffee time and for once it felt deserved, and not just to take a break from standing around. The rest of the day seemed to go by pretty quick. After work was done we came home and Sonja made supper. We had Mac and Cheese. We cleaned up after that and Sonja wanted to play DDR. So we played for a little bit. It made us really warm so we went and stood on the deck for a bit. The fish were jumping and I decided it was time to go fish. So I went out to the spit and Sonja came to, to keep me company. I got three bites. The water is so clear so your able to watch the fish come in and chase the hook. They looked like they were just rock cod. Tiny little fish that didn't want to commit to the hook. I had another two that followed the hook but didn't bite. When I am done on call I am going to go to the ferry terminal and fish for some salmon. Apparently thats where they are biting. No plans for tonight. We are just watching a movie, The Taking of Pelham 123.

Thats all for now.

So, Tyler was trying to upload a video of a helicopter that landed on the spit by our house. It was very cool but it didn't work. Tyler would like to apologize for that.

Last night was a pretty horrible. I wasn't feeling great at all and went to bed at 7:30ish. I fell asleep pretty much as soon as my head hit the pillow. I had a huge headache and I was so tired. I woke up for some reason as soon as Tyler came into the room. He was super quiet so I think I was too hot or something.

And then I couldn't sleep. I basically took a nap that made me feel a little better and made me a little more rested. It felt like I was awake all night long, even though I know I wasn't. I kept rolling over, checking the time, and it was only half an hour later then the last time. It also didn't help that Kitten was being a huge brat. She would scratch at the bed, walk all over me. She gave me a message. It would have felt awesome if she wasn't using her claws.

Needless to say, the alarm rang way to early for me. I reluctantly got out of bed and showered. Tyler stayed in bed for a little while later. I ate some breakfast and waited to go to work, all trying to stay awake.

Work was alright. Right off the bat, I had to photocopy a giant chart. I worked moderately hard all day. I finished all my work before lunch and really didn't do much afterwards. I texted with Amy, which is always great. I also got to go home early, even though I just got back from a 10 day vacation.

I went to the band store to pick up a few things we were lacking in our fridge. After getting home, I played DDR and then cooked dinner. Tyler came home and helped me. We had classy chicken. It's become a staple in our house because it is so good. The last few times we made it, it has been really soupy at the bottom. It wasn't as soupy as it usually is, so that was nice.

We cleaned up a little and went outside to sit on the hammock. We watched a blue heron for a while and just relaxed.

No plans for tonight, as usual. We are just going to enjoy the night together. Today is our 4 month anniversary. I can't believe how fast it has gone, but I am so blessed to be married to such a guy. Tyler is so great to me. I love you babe.

Let's hope tonight is better then last night...

Kitty has been a little different since I've been home. I think Tyler was teaching her some bad things. She just seems different then when I left.

Well today was a super slow day. I only dealt with three patients for the whole day. So therefore I don't have anything to write about tonight. We came home at five and started to make supper. We had a chicken chef salad. It was really good. Lettuce, tomato, cheese and chicken. After supper we did the dishes and I made some popcorn for some more sustenance. Sonja had a headache and wasn't feeling very good so I told her she should go lie down. That was about half an hour ago. Then we heard a loud sound outside, that sounded like a helicopter. So we went outside to see what it was. I actually was a helicopter and we stood out there and watched for a little bit. I took a video of it and will try to put it up tonight. No plans now for the rest of the night. Just watch TV and go to bed.

Tyler just called me a dork because I made a funny joke. He was saying how the cat always sits on his computer when he was watching movies and pause it. So, I said, "She paws it?" And then he called me a dork and we laughed. It's good to be home again!

Lets start with yesterday, the day of Penny's wedding. It was a good day. It was fun. The ceremony was at Bethel Church. It was really beautiful. Nice fun music. Penny looked amazing in her dress and it was so good to see everyone smiling and laughing and having so much fun.

I also got to see my family and friends again. After the ceremony was over, we all went over to Amy and Aaron's house to eat and hang out. That was also a great time. We all sat on their kitchen floor, eating crackers and brea. Again, there was a lot of laughing. That's what I love about getting together - It's all about laughing and having a great time.

We all drove over to the hall, which was also beautifully decorated. We found our seats. Luckily I was sitting with Ranita, brother Tyler and Tabitha. Amy, Aaron, Eva and Dan sat at another table with some of our cousins. There were 2 other guys at our table and one of them looked like Maxim something from Dancing with the Stars. I can't remember his last name, but it was an almost exact replica.

It was a great wedding, everyone having fun, great food, great speeches. It's always great to see people enjoy their big day and they were. It was so great to see it all unfold so nicely.

I danced a lot. Probably 3 hours, and it was great. It was awesome to dance with Joni and Ranita.

It was a little sad because I didn't get to dance with Tyler. Also, I had to hug my parents good bye. It's never actually good bye, but its still sad. I was holding it together but then I hugged Dad and I lost it. It wasn't the best part of the night, but I just kept on dancing and was able to have a great rest of the night. The hall was cleaned up and the music was shut off. And we were all kicked out.

When we got home, Aaron and I watched a funny movie. I didn't get to bed until 2:30am. Then I had to wake up at 8 to be ready to go to the airport for my flight back to Tyler today.

And that takes us to today. I was praying that the flight didn't end up like the other one I had. I would have cried. And it went perfectly. It was pretty cloudy in Vancouver, so there were a lot of delayed flights that were trying to take off at the same time as us. It was pretty cool to see huge planes taking off.

And now I am finally home again. When I saw Tyler, I cried because I was so happy. I don't ever want to spend that much time away from Tyler again.

While I was unpacking, Tyler made us some din din. He also made some tasty dessert which was so good. He made something we loved on our honeymoon. And it was so good.

The rest of the night we just relaxed. We watched a movie called, "Kick-Ass" and it was alright. We aren't doing anything now. I'm a little tired and will probably go to bed right away.

Oh yeah, I have kind of been lying to everyone for the past 2 months. Remember when I use to cross-stitch?? Well, there is a reason I haven't been blogging about that. I have been pretending to not cross-stitch, when really, I have been making a baby quilt for Amy and Aaron's kid. I finished it and gave it to them last week when I came home. It's a pretty sweet blanket.

Any way, going to bed now. Good night!!

1 More Day

Well it is finally Saturday which means that Sonja comes home to me tomorrow. I am excited because it is pretty boring here by yourself for 10 days. You can only play so much Mario Kart by yourself. Today started super early, and no it wasn't from a call back, but instead a super annoying and needy cat. She was relentless this morning, from 4 until sometime after 5 when she finally got lost. She kept meowing and walking back and forth above my head between both sides of the bed. It was the most frustrated I have ever been with this cat. I would say she is lucky to still be alive, because it was that close. I don't like being licked and clawed when I am trying to sleep. Even when I would toss her and lay her at the bottom of the bed she would still make her way back to my face to bug me. However I am not sure if this was a dream because I also was talking about it in a dream I had after she let me get back to sleep. Who knows. It was probably real because I usually don't get annoyed in my dreams.

After getting back to sleep I slept until 8:30 when my alarm went off and went to work. The doctor told me yesterday that he had some blood work to do so I went to get it done and to enjoy the rest of my day. I was back in half an hour or so. It's nice when what you go back for is quick and painless like that. I came home and watched some TV and got the grocery list ready for this week. After that I went to the store and bought food. It is a lot harder shopping by yourself for a few reasons, A) I don't take a cart when I shop. This is because then if I load up a cart how am I to know for sure if I can carry everything myself, so shopping without means if I can carry it to the till, then it will make it home with me. Its also cheaper and resists impulse shopping more, since I also usually go hungry. B) It is tough to know what the other person who will be eating the food with you wants to eat, so its really just a guessing game. I came home from shopping and discovered I missed stuff in the list making process, so I guess its back to the store tomorrow, another downside to not using a cart because most of the time everything is precariously perched and you want to get to the till quickly. Anyway I came home and put the groceries away and did the dishes. After they were done I went to relax with some more TV, when the phone rang, so it was back to work for me. I don't mind this because its good money, broke up my day by myself and keeps me busy. However nothing happened since then. I made supper which was a grilled buffalo chicken sandwich, and yes it was as good as it sounds. But that is the summary of my day. No real plans for the rest of the night.

Oh yesterday it poured most of the day. It was real foggy and when the ferry went by at 12:30 it felt the need to blow its horn. It was real cool. It sounded like i guess you would imagine a fog horn sounding but after it was done being blown, it still echoed all the way down the channel for another twenty seconds. There was also a heron fishing at the edge of the water just down from the deck. It was cool to see him so close because he has been hanging around the waterfront for a week and a half now and this was the closest I have seen him.

Good day!!!

Today was a very good day.

I woke up after having a very nice sleep and had some lucky charms for breakfast. I didn't know what the day held for me but I was ready to face it. I watched a bit of tv before Amy woke up and also had breakfast.

The plan for the day consisted of preparing their house for all the guests who are coming over tomorrow. My cousin Penny is getting married and the church is really close to Amy and Aaron's house, so our family is having a little get together.

While we were planning what to do first, Eva called and asked if I wanted to help her spend her birthday money. I did want to. We haven't had much time together since I've been back, so this would be perfect.

Before I left, I started the lawn mower for Amy and vaccumed their house. Then Amy dropped me off at the LRT and I was on my way to South Gate mall. On a side note, I think it's stupid that the price to ride the train is $5.50. That's not a nice round amount that you can pay with just one bill.

Any way, as I climbed the stairs at the LRT by South Gate, I ran into a familiar face. A family friend, Tim Vandenbrink was walking down the stairs as I was walking up. I haven't seen him in so long. We stopped and chatted for a while. We were standing on the stairs and these 2 old men walk down the stairs. Here is the exact quote one of them said to us - "What a stupid place to have a conversation. How dumb can you be?" I had no choice but to laugh at him for being a grumpy old man. We weren't blocking any stair traffic and he got down just fine. We wrapped up our conversation and I met up with Eva.

We had a great day together. It's always great to hang out with sisters. We did basic mall stuff - walked around a lot, looked at items to buy. I treated Eva to lunch, which consisted of a small blizzard and a mango julius. Both were so good. We talked about sister things and it was really awesome to catch up. Living far away inhibits good conversation with people, so it felt so great to actually talk with her. She spent her birthday money and we laughed some more. There is nothing better then sisters...I have 2 great sisters.

The plan for the evening involved going to Red Robins with Amy's friends. We were all meeting at 6:30 and I got to the Clairview LRT station at 5. I figured that instead of someone picking me up from the very place we are eating din din is silly. I had a quest for a DDR mat and the mall didn't have any. I was told Walmart should have them so I walked there and since a bunch of teenaged hooligans were "helping" me, I didn't find what I needed. I did buy cooling trays though. I searched high and low for a DDR mat and was disappointed at all turns. Apparently I could only have a mat if I bought another game. But it was the same game Tyler bought me and that idea was just silly.

I took a chance on the last store I could. EB games. It turns out that they are the largest distributor of products in the district so of course they had the mats. The guy who was helping me almost tore off his thumb trying to get out from behind his desk, but he turned out ok. I got the mat and went to reserve seats at Red Robins.

We all eventually met up and had a really great time together. There was a 10 weeks old baby who joined us and I think he is the cutest baby I have ever seen. I didn't know how the evening would go, seeing that these were Amy's friends and not mine. It was a great time though. We all ate way to much and talked and laughed a lot.

We are at home now, bellies full. There is talk of watching a movie. I am going to call Tyler once I am done typing this out.

I super excited about Penny's wedding tomorrow. It's almost been 4 months since our wedding, which is crazy. It's funny how the day takes so long to get here, and then everything just zooms right on by. I also can't believe we have been living out in Bella Bella for almost 3 months. It's just crazy.

I miss Tyler. It's been to long and I don't like it. I get to see him in 2 days.

I love you babe. I miss you and I can't wait to see you again!!!!!

Home finally

Well its Thursday and Sonja will be home in a few days. I am excited to have her back here. It has been pretty boring without her. But it helps that I have been on call. It makes things go a little bit quicker. I woke up and went to work. It was busy with a few x-rays in the ER. So that started things off with a bang. It was nice to get right into something like that. Suddenly it was coffee time, which isn't saying to much because I started at 8:48 and coffee is at 10, but regardless it is a nice milestone to see pass. It slowed down a little bit after that. Lunch finally came and I had a sandwich. After lunch I went back to work and it continued to be slow until 4:20. A patient came in for blood work and so I did that. Then the doctor wanted some blood work on a patient in the ER, an inpatient and an x-ray. So everything kinda broke loose at once. The x-ray was interesting because they had given him some pain killers, so he was feeling pretty good. It was tough for him to stand and he was overly helpful when I was trying to position him. So it took a while, but I got it done. I went back to the lab and found more blood work waiting for me to do. When all was said and done I wasn't out of there until 6. I came home and changed and started to make some supper as I was pretty hungry. I sat on the couch and talked to Sonja for a little bit. After hanging up with her, I got a call from the hospital wanting an x-ray. So I went over there and saw the air ambulance flight crew prepping the patient for the flight. The doctor wanted an x-ray to check for a tube placement as they had just intubated him for the trip. Then they added blood work. So I just stood back and waited for the flight paramedics to get him ready to take off. When they were done I did the x-ray and blood work. I came home around 7:30 and finished making supper. It was a fortunate thing that I turned the oven off before leaving because other wise I wouldn't have had supper or possibly a place to live. I had a a chicken burger and corn on the cob. It was pretty good.

The forecast was predicting a thunderstorm this afternoon, so I was pretty excited for it. But of course the forecast was wrong again. It hasn't rained for probably 2 weeks, so I was really hoping for the storm. It was just cloudy and pretty warm. But that was my day. Hopefully no call backs late tonight so I can sleep through.

Thats all for now.

Another day with family...it's really awesome to see my family again, but I still miss Tyler so much. There were so many times tonight that I wish he could have been a part of...but this is our life for right now.

Today was a good day. I slept over at my parents house last night. Yesterday night I got to see my best friends and that was the best thing ever. I met up with Ranita and we talked and laughed so so much. Then Joni came after she was done work and that was equally as fun. It was so great to catch up with them. They are 2 pretty sweet people and I love them so much. What was funny was that they both said that it was like I never moved away. I suppoes thats a good thing.

Any way, today I woke up and tried to find something to eat at my mom and dad's home. I guess when it's just 2 people you don't eat as much because there wasn't a lot of selection. I had blueberries for breakfast. They were very tasty.

I then waited for Amy to come over. I watched some tv and really did nothing else. I watched a show about wedding dresses, and it doesn't have to same appeal any more now that I am past that part. It's funny how weddings make people always think about dresses, cakes, venues and all that stuff, and then the day after, you forget it all. It's all so much fun, but I'm so glad to have Tyler as my husband already. It's pretty great!!!

Amy showed up and we hung around the parents home some more. Then we gained the energy to get up and actually go out shopping. Amy needed some more baby stuff and I needed a new pair of shoes. We went to the Sherwood Park mall and in no time, we had all the stuff we needed.

We then went to the bank and Sherwood Park Registries to officially change my last name. I am now proud to say I can legally sign my name Jarrett. It's already hard to remember to do that. I usually start the G but can always manage to make it look like I meant to make it look like that. I have some skill.

After all that excitment, we went back to my parents home as the whole family (minus Brother Tyler and my Tyler) was getting together for din din. Eva had to work late so we didn't end up eating until late. We had a very tasty steak and potatoe meal with a blueberry cobbler dessert. I was so full as I never eat a big meal that late.

We then hung out in the living room, laughing and talking and it was so much fun. I love that we can just sit around for hours and enjoy each others company like that. I love my family and I'm a little afraid of how I will react to going back to Bella Bella. Of course I am excited to see Tyler (There is no doubt about that!!!) but it's hard for me to be away from family. I don't like missing out on things. I am lucky because I got to feel Amy's baby move. It kicked me, so I don't know what that means...but its things like that that make me want to move back to Alberta. Tyler informed me that August 13 will be 3 months of living in BC. I think that's a little crazy. We will no longer be Alberta residents, but from BC. I don't really like that as I will always be an Alberta girl.

We are now back home and I am the only one awake. It was my turn to write the blog tonight so there you have it.

I also talked with Tyler today. That was a great part of today. I miss him so much. I just want a hug from him. I love you Tyler so much and I miss you a ton. Only 4 more days. It will be a great reunion...but I am going to miss family...It's a crazy thing that way.

I am getting tired and I will probably read a book tonight. It's my favorite book and I finally bought myself a copy.

Ty, I love you. I can't wait to talk to you again tomorrow. I can't wait to see you too. I wish you were here. Love you. Have a great sleep my love!

Tired

Well today something radically different happened. It was actually steady at work. I got there and there was stuff to do. Did that and there was more to do. So that continued for most of the day. It was nice to be busy for a change. But it probably won't last long as it will likely be slow tomorrow. After work I came home and had supper.

As if right on cue, the first day I am on call and working all day it was gorgeous and sunny. To bad this didn't happen yesterday when I could have enjoyed. So being on call I was in the middle of doing dishes tonight when the phone rang. So I went out for the call around twenty to seven. I came home before 8 to find the dish water still kinda warm. So I finished drying what I had washed and finished washing everything else. I just saw the air ambulance fly in so the patient is on the way out to Vancouver. Now I am watching TV and relaxing for the rest of the night. Although it was busy I still don't have much to tell you about so thats all for tonight. Of course it is supposed to be nice tomorrow. Hopefully it will be nice when I am done work so I can go out and do some fishing from the shore.

Long weekend fun!!!

Well, we are home from the Lake now, all burnt and ready for a nap. This weekend was so much fun.

We packed up the vehicle and headed out to Slave Lake, my favorite place to be. It had been really hot all day on Friday so we were hoping that the weather would carry up north to the lake. Aaron, Amy and I arrived at around 8ish and mom and dad arrived very shortly afterwards. It was so great to see my parents again.

We unpacked and I started to pump up the air mattress that I would be using. Air pumps kind of suck. A lot of time and energy went into blowing it up, so it was nice to set up my bed. It was in the middle of the living room, but I didn't care.

Eva and Dan came as well, and we all thought they would be bringing a van to sleep in, but they didn't. All that time and energy was not spent on making a nice bed for me, but for them. I was a little mad about it because I had to sleep on the couch, but I soon got over that. It helped a little that the air mattress started leaking, so I had to smile a little over that. The couch wasn't so bad and it makes more sense for them to sleep on it then me.

Any way, the weekend was fantastic. Saturday the weather called for cloudy with periods of sun and that's what we got. We went down to the beach and laughed and talked and it was so great to hang out with my sisters and mom again.

The weekend was filled with pie irons (which are tasty sandwiches made in a camp cooker over a fire) and hotdogs. Lots of candy from Denmark and peanut butter cups.

Sunday was beautiful. It was sunny with bits of cloud. I used sunscreen but missed most of the top of my back. It is now a lovely shade of bright pink/red and it hurts when my shirt rubs on it.

Today is was cloudy and a bit rainy so we all woke up and were hanging out in the cabin. Dad made us fried eggs and toasts and we laughed some more. Then we packed up and are now at Amy and Aarons home.

It feels great to have a shower and be clean again. I wish Tyler could have been with us at the lake. It's always better when he is there.

The plan for tonight is simple. Aaron has a baseball game so we will go watch that, although I have a headache and am really tired (I think we all are though). I think for dinner we will have leftover hotdogs and mac and chesse.

Its going to be a great week. I get to see friends and go to a cousins wedding.

Tyler, I love you and miss you so so much. Only 6 more days and I will be with you again.
Love you tons

Nothing New Again

Nothing new or out of the ordinary today. I woke up and decided to go to the store for groceries this week. I got there and there was nothing unloaded from the truck and therefore not to much on the shelves. I didn't get everything that I wanted. I still need to go back for bread and milk, sandwich meat and other essentials. So I will be going tomorrow. The weather was cloudy most of the day. I was going to go to a lake today, but I didn't. That can be postponed until tomorrow. After getting groceries I made some pancakes for breakfast. They were leftover from the batch that Sonja made. The rest of the day was pretty lazy. I tried to make pizza from scratch for supper. It wasn't bad but I think the dough was to doughy or something. Maybe I cooked it to long. I'm not sure but it was kinda disappointing. I am watching the Discovery Channel right now because it is shark week starting tonight. Pretty cool video on these shows.

Not to much on tap for tonight. Tomorrow Sonja is gonna be back in Edmonton so maybe she can give a more exciting account of the weekend than I am.
