Friday

Last day of work for me this week.  I woke up pretty tired to the sound of pouring rain outside.  But I rolled out of bed and into the shower.  I was working by myself again today and will be for the next week. I have no problems with that.  Things usually go a lot smoother by myself.  Everything is where I put it last and it seems to be a lot more organized.  I had a few people come in in the morning, but wasn't as chaotic as Wednesday was.

The morning was interrupted by a staff meeting and before I knew it, it was time to come home for lunch.  It was pouring rain and the wind was blowing.  It was a miserable day out.  I came home and had a sandwich for lunch and planned our trip home at Christmas with Sonja.  We will be leaving here on the 21st of December at 6:45 in the morning.  Then the long drive starts.  Doing the planning made the lunch hour go by very quickly.

I went back into work and wound down the clock.  I made some labels for our binders and other boring things to wind down the day.  Soon enough though the day was over and I came home.  It was weird because the weather smartened up and there was some blue sky and the sun was peeking through.

I came home and found Sonja trying to co-hearse a kitten out from under the sidewalk.  Oh the life of being married to a cat rescuer.  She had claimed that she heard a cat meowing this morning but I thought that was crazy.  But sure enough I heard a cat meowing somewhere outside our house.  I finally talked Sonja into coming back inside and we waited at the window to see if the mystery cat would come out of hiding.  Then the calico cat that Sonja has been feeding showed up and lured the other cat out.  It turns out that calico is a mom and the mystery cat is just a kitten.  They eventually went their own way and we made supper.  We had homemade chicken strips.  I thought the were so good.  Sonja wasn't such a lover of them like I was.

After supper we finished watching the end of the Eskimos game and then watched Horrible Bosses.  It was pretty funny.  We enjoyed it.  After the movie, Sonja thought that she heard a meowing.  Sure enough, the kitten and her mom had returned.  I went out there to see if I could catch the kitten and get her where her mom was going.  I went to the end of our hall outside and peeked around the corner.  The mom cat saw me and was immediately interested and came towards me.  Her kitten followed.  the plan worked pretty flawlessly.  I caught her and got Sonja to get them some food.  We don't know what to do with them hanging around our place all the time.  Maybe turn them into the police to be given a new home.
