What a hike!

Today started early and it was because of the cat again.  But not in the usual way.  The vet was in town today and it was a first come first served kind of deal.  So, we got up at 8:30.  It was too early for a weekend I have been looking forward to all week.  It was a long week for me.

We ate a quick breakfast and brushed our teeth.  And then we had to find a way to get Kitty into her pet taxi.  She really hates being in the crate because it usually means a car ride.  And she hates the car more then the crate.  Luckily for her, this town isn't big enough to warrant a car ride as the vet was set up in the school.  So we walked off to the school.

I was expecting no one else to be there.  It seems like no one really cares for their pets around here.  I was surprised to have to wait.  There were only dogs present in the hallways so Kitten was too impressed.  Poor Kitty!  She was meowing a little pitiful meow and it made me sad.  A friend of ours brought her two new dogs and they were so funny.  They were little min-pins.  They were so cute but they were so loud.  They barked at everything.  Our friends tried to hold them back from running everywhere, but the one dog jumped and landed on his face.  He wasn't as barky as he was before.  The very little one tried to run away but the leash was holding her back.  But she kept on running.  It was so funny to see her try to run but get no where.

We finally got to see the vet.  He said that she probably wont get over her itch factor.  We are going to try a few new things to try and help her, but the vet said that her skin might never get better.  That makes me sad but we can always try.

We came home, dropped Kitty off and went to the store for our weekly food run.  We were able to get most of our food which surprised me because we never can get that much of our list in one trip.  We got home and unpacked.  We were going on a hike today to the top of the mountain.

After eating some cottage cheese and Tyler a sandwich, we started on our way.  I really don't like that hike because it is all up hill.  There are a few flat parts on the trip, but it's all up hill.  I was proud of myself because I didn't take as many breaks as I did last year when we went up.  We were told that there was an old war plane crashed up on the top.  And once we got there, we were horribly disappointed.  It was just a green piece of metal.  Not so much an airplane.  Then we were off back home.  I was tired and wanted to get back home.  We got about half way back home when Tyler's co-worker drove up the path.  They offered a ride back home and we accepted.

And once we got home, I drank a few cups of water, ate a bit of food and sat down.  It was nice to sit down again.  But it was a really great hike.  We saw sandhill cranes.  Those birds are so big that Tyler thought they were deer.  Pretty crazy seeing a bird that big.

We've been watching hockey and now a tv movie about William and Kate.  I'm kind of obsessed with their wedding and all that, even though I didn't get to watch their wedding.  It's not a really great movie, but it's something to watch.

It was an alright day, weather-wise.  Cloudy and grey but at least it wasn't super hot on our hike.  That's not fun to be all sweaty and gross.

We played some pen hockey tonight as well.  I lost 2 of 3 games.  And I have fresh rug burns on my hands again.

It's almost bed time again.  I'm looking forward to sleeping again.  It's been a busy day for us.

It's the end of another week.  And unlike Sonja I felt that the week went by pretty quick, until today.  It was really slow today at work which in turn made the day drag by.  So it was slow and I was bored most of the day.  I came home for lunch after a seemingly long morning and had a sandwich to eat.

Going back to work was a little bit better as it wasn't as slow.  I had a few things to do and soon enough it seemed, it was time to come home.  I came home and had the internet guy here to try to fix our internet.  It hasn't been running so great lately and is pretty annoying.  So he was here and supposedly fixed it and told me to call him on Monday if it hasn't gotten any better.  I don't think it is much better.  So maybe Monday he can do something different and get it working better.

We made supper of curry chicken.  It wasn't as good as every other time we have had it, so I don't know what the problem was.  Maybe because I just didn't feel like cooking anything.  We finished supper and watched a bit of hockey, before watching ET tonight because Sonja wanted to watch highlights from the royal wedding.  She was thinking about getting up to watch it live, but decided against that, since she had to get up this morning for work.  We are now watching the Italian Job.

We have a kinda busy day planned for tomorrow.  We are taking the cat to the vet, getting groceries, if the weather is nice, going for a hike up the mountain, and KFC for supper.  A group from the school is selling KFC for a fundraiser and we bought some, so that should be pretty good.

Grey skies are gonna clear up....

I woke up at about 4 this morning.  I looked at the clock and was excited that I had more time to sleep.  And soon after, Tyler was nudging me saying it was time to get up.  I couldn't figure it out.  I thought I had just looked at the clock.  It couldn't be time to get up already.  So I rolled over and was almost asleep again when Tyler nudged me again.  I didn't even hear the alarm go off this morning.  That never happens to me and I was a little confused as to why I was so out of it.

A warm shower and some good breakfast foods made my morning alright.  For some reason, I was already in a sour mood.  I think it's because I have been pretty bored lately.  The last few weekends Tyler has been studying so we haven't been taking advantage of the outdoors and that makes me feel cooped up.  And all my frustration and annoyances with being out here came over flowing out today.

I got to work and started doing my thing.  Soon, I realized I had to make changes to something on the system.  I thought I could just modify to entry, but of course it wasn't that easy.  It kept sending me an error message which made my blood boil.  There isn't anything more annoying then not knowing how to fix a "simple" problem.  I phoned and emailed a bunch of people, asking for help but no one answered back.  The one woman who did email me back said she couldn't help so she forwarded my question to someone else.  Isn't that how it always is?  No one ever knows the answer so you just get passed on until you give up.  I eventually took the entire entry off the system thinking it would be a lot easier to just re-add the whole thing with the minor change.  But that wasn't a good idea.  I entered all the information and once I hit send, it still gave me an error message that didn't make a lot of sense.  I just couldn't figure out how to fix this problem.

As all that was going on, the phone was ringing and only the dumbest people decided to call today.  It wasn't a very busy day but when that phone rang, I shuddered.  I didn't want to talk to anyone because that stupid computer issue hadn't been solved yet.

And then it was pointed out to me that one of the guards had marked down hours on a time sheet that he didn't actually work, when no one was even in cells.  So, I called the person in and my boss talked with him and he denied even writing in the numbers.  It was annoying not knowing who to believe in that situation.

And then it was lunch.  I had a very dark cloud around me and I wasn't very upset.  Just the worst mood I've been in in a long time.  I wasn't having fun at work, everything was making me doubt the intelligence of the people around here and I just wanted to curl up in our bed and go to sleep.  I wanted the day to end as fast as it could.  I complained to Tyler and that didn't work either.  Once he left, I decided I was pretty stupid.  I was stupid for letting something that doesn't really affect me ruin my day.  Stupid for thinking bad things about people.  I decided to change it.  I didn't want to spend the rest of the day being negative about every little thing.  So, I changed.  I looked up the cutest video I could think of on youtube and that just made me cheer right up.  The video was of 4 little kittens who are waiting for their owners to feed them.  Its 2 minutes of little meows.  I love it and it set my day right.

I got back to work and everything was better.  Those stupid little things that were bugging me before didn't seem to matter any more.  I learned to not take things so seriously because it doesn't really matter.  Those little things don't matter to my life in any sense.  So I gave it up.  And my day was awesome afterwards.  I laughed more, smiled more and enjoyed everything about it.

I didn't get the computer thing worked out so that made me upset.  But it just doesn't matter.  My day ended on a high note.

I worked out and came home.  I warmed up some pizza and called my very best friend Ranita.  We talked for so long and it was the best talk I've had in a long time.  We laughed and laughed and it was so good to talk to a good friend again.  We talked for an hour and a half.  About her wedding, her life, her job, my life, my job.  It was a very well rounded conversation and I loved it.  I miss friends and family.

And now we are relaxing.  Tyler came home from a silly workshop thing he had to do at work and now he is eating popcorn and I'm about to join him.  I'm really looking forward to this weekend.  It's been a long week and didn't really enjoy it, but I enjoyed little things along the way.

We booked our flights home last night.  We will be coming home on June 30th and I can't wait.

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

I woke up this morning tired.  We went to bed to late last night.  We were watching the hockey game and then Sonja was watching The voice.  Before we knew it it was after eleven.  So we went to bed and went to sleep.  The morning seemed to come all to soon.  We got up and got ready for work.

I was harassed a bit after railing so hard against Vancouver in the first round.  So since they won the game last night, I had to hear about it all day.  The day was slow patient wise today, but I kept myself busy and soon the day was over.  I came home and did the dishes before making supper.  We were having pizza tonight so I started to make the dough.  I realized we needed some sauce for it.  I went out to get it and it was pouring rain.  It rained most of the day, but the few minutes I was out I feel like it rained the hardest.  I came home and continued to make supper.  It turned out to be probably one of the best pizzas ever.

We watched some hockey with supper.  We haven't really done anything else tonight, and don't plan on anything else either.

Don't forget if you can to tune into TSN tomorrow at 1 mountain time to watch for us on Oil Change.  We are just watching Modern Family.

Tuesday blues

You know your long weekend was awesome when the last thing you want to do is go to work on Tuesday.  Today was a struggle for me.  I didn't want to do anything but it was time to get back to real life.

We both got up at the same time and enjoyed our morning routine.  I got to work and my mind wasn't working properly.  It just wouldn't cooperate with me.  I was alone in the office again and will be for the rest of the week again.  It turns out my co-worker discovered the way to beat the work blues after a long weekend - take more days off.

I started the day with 2 phone calls and 2 statements to type.  It was good for my mind to do easy work because I'm sure I would have made some bad mistakes if anything real happened.

The morning kind of flew by and it was time to find some lunch.  I had yogurt and some rice cakes.  It was an alright meal but I was hungry a little while afterwards.

The afternoon was pretty dull.  I managed to keep myself busy but I'm not really sure what I did.  I had a talk with my boss about the job.  Basically, no one knows when I'm done there.  They have given me a few dates but I'm not going to live by those dates.  It's pointless to plan for a date that keeps moving back a few weeks.  Also, it's mean.  I really am looking forward to not working so much so it's not nice to get my hopes up for a certain date only to find out that the date has been pushed back.

I think I'm getting bored with this place.  Right now, it's hard to look forward to much.  I know summer is coming up but I'm really in a "I miss family and friends" kind of mode.  I'm just grumpy these days and I'm not really sure what caused it.  Maybe it's because we missed yet another family get together.  I hate that.  But I also understand that there's nothing we can do about that.  This is life right now and I guess I haven't gotten use to it yet.

Our evening has been pretty quick.  I can't believe it's already after 9.  We had noodles with meat sauce and garlic bread.  It was so good but I ate too much bread.  I can still taste it and that doesn't make me feel so good.

We are just watching some hockey and probably going to bed pretty soon.  I'm tired and Tyler just yawned.

It poured most of the day today and was grey and cloudy.  Kitty was super cute so Tyler took her cone off.  She took advantage of it and scratched a new hole in her forehead.  We are glad the vet is coming to town next weekend.  We are hoping they can tell us something new about Kitten so she can stop being a coned kitty.  It makes me sad that she can't play like a real girl.

Easter Monday

Today was the last day of our long weekend.  It's pretty nice working for a church based hospital because we actually get Easter Monday off.  Unfortunately again I didn't get to sleep in too long.  I got out of bed around 8:30 and studied a little bit more before my test today.  I finished off some worksheets that was working on to practice physics.

I did my test this morning at 11.  It didn't take very long to do.  I was back home shortly after 11:30 and found Sonja vacuuming the house.  It has been a while and it really needed to be done.  I went around gathering the garbage and cleaned up the compost outside and took out the garbage.  I also did some other "Yard work," not that we really have a yard, but I cleaned up the flower bed and got rid of some of the logs that were gathered by the previous tenants.  Next weekend we might do some more things out there next weekend.  Get rid of the rocks that are there and put some gravel out there so its not so slippery when it rains.  I think it is a good idea, since it rains a lot out here.

After I was done out there we went for a walk around the town again.  We stopped by the store on the way home and picked up some cereal, and a few other things that we needed.  We came home and ate a bit before settling in for the day.

Since I am finally done my courses for a week, we decided to just relax and watch movies this afternoon.

We had chicken wraps for supper.  Unfortunately they aren't very filling and I have been kind of hungry all evening.

No real plans the rest of the night.  Sonja will be cross stitching and I relaxing.

4 day weekend!

Well, it's pretty awesome when you get 4 days off.  It makes the days seem longer, and the things you do more special.  It makes me feel like you can do anything you want because you have another day to do all the weekend chores.  It feels awesome to have 4 days off.  It's nice getting away from work for that long, even though I did have to guard yesterday.

Our day has been everything we wanted it to be.  Relaxing, uneventful and glorious.  We both woke up early because Kitten was being pretty annoying.  She decided to go on a crazy run and was running all over the house.  Tyler got so fed up with her that he threw his pillow at her.  It missed and hit the dresser but he made his point.  She just kind of looked at him like, "Yeah right, do you really think a pillow is going to slow me down?"  Tyler soon got up and took her cone off.  She soon calmed down and fell asleep in her room.  I stayed in bed for about an hour and then got up.  I got to sleep with all 4 pillows and it was marvelous.

Tyler spent the morning studying and I did my own thing.  Cross-stitching, played with Kitty, ate some food.  We had a baptism to go to at 11 so we showered, got dressed and were out the door on time.  We walked to the church and soon the service started.  It was very different from any other baptism I have ever been too.  First of all, one of the songs was sung like we were at a funeral.  So slow, so sad even though it was a good song.  There were about 5 or 6 kids being baptized so it took a little while to get through all of them.  Our friends little boy was just so cute.  And the minister prayed in Heiltsuk.  We didn't understand it but it was pretty cool.

We ate some post-baptism food and hung around for a little while.  Then we left for home to grab some money to grab some food.  We are old mother hubbard out here.  It's been a while since we actually got some real food to eat.  We headed to the store to find it mostly bare.  We did get most of what we needed and came back home.  After some lunch and unpacking of food, Tyler started studying again and I went back to my cross-stitch.

I worked out a bit and played some more with Kitty.  It was a good day.  I wish we could have spent Easter weekend with our families and friends but it was a nice day.

Tyler is still studying and I'm watching a hockey game.  We are hoping the Hawks win against the Canuks mostly because it's funny to hear the people are here talk about it.  I have been watching the hummingbirds fly back and forth all day long.  They like to sit on a planter we have on our deck.  I still can't believe how small those birds are.

Tyler has his final tomorrow morning.  I know he will do very well because he is smart and has been working his butt off all week.

I'm loving tomorrow already.... No work for us!!!

Enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Today was super boring for me.  I woke up this morning and started to study right away, as I had a lot to do.  I started by downloading and printing off all my worksheets so I could re-figure out how to do the math part for my test on Monday.

Sonja got up about an hour after me and then I went over to the hospital to print my stuff out.  I came home and relaxed with Sonja for a bit before returning to the grind that was the rest of my day.

I studied the whole day.  Sonja ended up having to guard this afternoon, so I was by myself with the only distraction the sunshine, and hummingbirds fighting over who got to drink our sweet, sugary water.  I took a break from studying for lunch and then went back to it.

Sonja came home around 5 and she told me about her shift guarding.  We then decided to go for a walk since it was the nicest its been all spring today so we went all around the town.  We decided to head up to the dump before coming home in the hopes of seeing a bear or at the very least, lots of eagles.  It turns out that the dump has been filled in as now all of the garbage is being barged out of here to a bigger landfill, or incinerator.  So now there is now nowhere to see an abundance of eagles or even a bear.  There have been lots of bear sightings in the last couple weeks along the back of town, which ironically coincides with the dump being filled in.  Now the bears have to find some where else to eat since their "All they can eat bear-fet" is closed.

We came home from our walk and scrounged around for some supper and studied a little bit more before calling it a night.

We are now just watching a movie.  Sonja is on the phone with her family so the movie is paused waiting for her return.

Good Friday

It didn't start to be that great of a Friday.  I was anticipating a day to sleep in, but I woke up at 7:30 and couldn't get back to sleep.  I wasn't too sad because we had nothing planned for the day.

I got out of bed and sat on the couch.  I was still tired but my mind was going a mile a minute and I couldn't get it to calm down.  Kitten came to lay with me and she soon fell back asleep.  I was jealous.  Tyler soon joined me and our day officially started.

Tyler had to study all day, so you can imagine how much fun we had today.  He started almost right away and I did some cross stitching.  I'm getting really excited about finishing up my current project.  It's looking really cool.  Tyler says we might actually frame this one because I haven't made so many mistakes.

We went to the store without a list, which is a dangerous task.  We knew we needed fruit and milk but everything else we bought was kind of a guess.  We ended up getting kitty litter, and Tyler wanted stuff to make a strawberry cheese cake.

Tyler went back to studying once we got home again and I played with Kitty and did some more cross stitching.  It wasn't a very thrilling day but it was beautiful outside.  We went for a walk once Tyler was fed up with studying.  It was such a great walk.  Tyler wanted to see one of the bears that have been roaming around Bella Bella the past few weeks.  We didn't see a bear but we ran into a garage sale.  There was nothing there we wanted so we carried onto the store to pick up some remaining groceries - milk and strawberries.  We will probably have to go back again because we have no food in our house, except for a cheese cake that happens to be really tasty.

We are now enjoying our evening together, watching a movie and watching the hummingbirds come and go.  They are so cute.  One landed on the fake flower and Tyler didn't appreciate just how cute that was.

I'm looking forward to sleeping tonight.  I'm pretty tired from the long day of doing nothing.

Kitten is sleeping on my arms and stomach as I'm typing this.  It's pretty awesome.  I think she loves me.

We're on TV!!

This morning I had to get up with Sonja as I was boss for the day.  My co-worker Kate took the day off as she had a friend visiting.  So I went in at 8 and was busy most of the morning, until probably 11:30.  It was nice because that meant that the day was almost over.  I came home for lunch at 12 to eat with Sonja.  I had to go back for 5 minutes in the middle of my lunch because I had a timed test that needed to be read at a specific time.  I came back home and finished my lunch.

The afternoon didn't go by as quickly as the morning did.  Fortunately I had things to do.  We are working on getting our order information on the computer, so I spent most of yesterday making the forms, and this afternoon putting the information into them.  At 10 to 5 I was getting ready to come home when I had a patient from Klemtu come into the ER with an x-ray, bloodwork and an ECG to do.  So I didn't actually get to come home until twenty to six.

I came home and supper was almost ready to eat.  We had classy chicken.  It was good, but runny.  We had some old cream of chicken soup to put in, but it wasn't as creamy and thick as it should have been.  After supper the latest episode of Oil Change was on.  When we were at the Vancouver game at the beginning of the month, we went down to stand behind the bench for their warm up.  While we were there waiting the Oil Change camera came out from the dressing room and pan on us.  We didn't think that they would use the 2 seconds we were shot in the show, out of the 10,000 hours they filmed in the month and a half since the last episode.  So we settled in to watched, not expecting anything, and there we were, on national TV.  You'll have to watch for it.  It is on again next Thursday at 2 pm mountain time.

After Oil Change was over we flipped to the Vancouver game and found out that Chicago was already winning 2-0.  So that will make it interesting on Tuesday when we go back to work.  We went for a walk after the first period and came back and it was 5-0.

We put up our humming bird feeder yesterday and today after supper it was already empty and I needed to fill it up again.

The night will be spent watching The Office and Parks and Recreation and maybe a movie.

You know it's spring when...

You know it's spring when the are a billion robins hanging out on the grass by our place.  You take a step and they scatter.  It's pretty cool to see them all running around here.  I love the fat ones.  They are just the cutest.

I woke up this morning at 5 because I heard the tv.  I got really scared because why on earth would the tv just turn on like that.  I woke Tyler up and I believe he was kind of confused because he was talking really loud.  I was afraid the bad guy who turned on our tv would hear him... and why the bad guy would turn on the tv, don't ask me but it's what I thought at 5 this morning.  Tyler turned it off and I couldn't get back to sleep after that.

Work wasn't too exciting.  I was all by myself in the office, with the cops coming in and out all day.  Some of them made fun of me because I couldn't leave and they can go wherever they want.  Not so much fun for me.

I spent the day trying to find work to do.  I worked in the file room, did some stuff on the computer.  It was a long day... a very long day!!

It ended on a high note though.  On the walk home, some one was cutting the grass and it smelt amazing!!!  It smelt like summer awesomeness.  It was my favorite part of the day up until that point.

I got home and started on din din and the dishes.  Once Tyler got home, he finished making dinner and helped me with the dishes.  We had chicken strips and fries tonight.  It was easy and quick and that's what I needed.

Tyler put up our hummingbird feeder this evening and soon enough, we had a new friend visit us.  He was so cute and small and we got a few pictures.  He took a little break on a flower pot and was looking back and forth.

Our evening was pretty relaxing.  Tyler attempted to study but there is a very fun little game on the internet that is very distracting.

I'm hoping tomorrow's work day goes quickly.  I'm ready for the long weekend!!

Yesterday I did my imaging course final.  I think it went OK.  In the hundreds of images that I looked at and studied for, I only needed to know a small portion of it.  I will find out in a couple days how I did.  It is nice to have one of my tests off of my plate and not to worry about anymore.

Today was an ordinary day at work.  I was busy most of the day, doing odd jobs to get the place running more efficiently.  I left work at 5 and came home.  Tonight we had bagel pizzas for supper, while we watched Vancouver get slaughtered which will make things interesting tomorrow at work.  They lost 7-2 and I can't wait to rub it into all the Canuck fans at work.

I heard of a pharmacy tech job that is opening up here and I told Tony to apply since he is just finishing up his program and will be looking for a job.  It would be cool if he got it.  Then we would have some more friends out here.  We'll see how it goes.  I have to get his resume first.

The evening has been pretty mellow.  We are just watching The Office to end the night.  We'll probably go to bed shortly.  Tomorrow I have to start studying for my next test which is on Monday.  Excited for the long weekend.  It will be nice to get four days off, except that I am on call so hopefully it's not to nice out and we don't miss out on some nice weather.

Is today Monday?

I'm having a hard time remembering what day it is.  I mean, the weeks go by so fast these days that I can't keep up with it.  I know it's the 18th, but that's about it.  I also can't believe that April is already half over... of is there a way to look at a month like the half full cup so I don't seem pessimistic.

I have a over-the-shoulder reader on top of the couch right now.  Kitten is being so cute, curling up behind me.  And now that she is settled in for the evening, we can stop trying to keep her busy.  She has a lot of energy at certain times of the night and it gets a little exhausting.

This morning started out like a horror movie.  It was so foggy outside over the water and yet the sun still shone through.  I could just barely see to the end of the spit and the Government wharf looked really hazy. It was a little creepy and I didn't like it.  I like being able to see the sun and the hills and mountains.  It was kind of cool when you didn't think of all the scary movies that have the bad guy hiding in the fog.

As I went to work this morning, I couldn't even see up the street.  It felt like the day wasn't going to be good with a start like that.  But I was kind of wrong.  I spent a lot of time in the file room because I made a mistake a few weeks ago and had to fix it.  It took all day long.  I had a few phone calls and basically no one came in.

But, I did find out I have a job at least until May 23rd.  It's a nice feeling knowing I'm employed for at least another month.  And they will look at the situation again after that.

I worked out after work and came home to prepare our din din.  Tyler was taking a final exam at 6 so he wanted enough time to eat and relax before heading out.  So I made some subs and we watched a bit of hockey and soon, Tyler was off making us all proud.

When he came home, Kendra was over explaining how her vacation was.  And she had bought Kitty some fur mice.  And Kitty went crazy over them.  She was rubbing her face all over them and it was so cute.

And now Tyler is eating some popcorn (as usual) and we are relaxing before heading to bed.

Only 3 more days till the long weekend... I'm so excited.

Long Day

Today was much the same as yesterday's.  I woke early and started studying.  I have my final to write tomorrow after work so I spent the day studying, just like I spent yesterday studying.  I studied until 12 when I took a break and we went to the store.  They hadn't yet stocked the shelves so we came home empty handed.  After our losing trip to the store we came home and I had some lunch.

After eating lunch I continued studying until I felt I was done.  I quit just after two and then had a shower.  After my shower we went back to the store to try again to finish up our list.  We came home and watched some of the hockey game that was on.

We were invited over for supper at Jan and Carls and then watched the Canucks game.  Unfortunately Vancouver won so they now have a 3-0 game lead over Chicago.  It seems like Canuck mayhem is just about to start.  I can't bring myself to root for them, so I will be railing hard against them the whole playoffs.

Now we are back home and just relaxing until bedtime.  Hopefully my test goes alright tomorrow evening.

No soap, radio!

I kind of wish I didn't have to blog about this day.  It's hard to write about something when nothing happened.

I'm not really sure what/if Tyler has mentioned about our new upstairs neighbors as I haven't been reading his blogs this week... but I really don't like them.  Tyler has named them River Dance for one, because they are Irish and two, because they are so unbelievably loud.  They are the worst people who have lived above us yet.  This morning, when the rest of the island was sleeping soundly in their quiet homes, River Dance decided to take a shower.  And that shower squeals when the water runs.  And it woke both of us up way too early.  I was so sad that the day I was looking so forward to the most was kind of ruined.  I figured that as soon as they stopped running the water, I would be able to get back to sleep, but then the other person who lives up there also had to shower.  Then I was mad.  And when that person was done, all I could hear was Tyler breathing loudly right beside my head.  I wasn't impressed so I went into the other room to try and get back to sleep.

And then I had a few very strange dreams so I was glad to wake up from that.  Tyler was up and studying when I rolled out of bed at 9:15.

And that's where the excitement ends.  Tyler has a final exam on Monday so he is studying non-stop all weekend.  It makes for a day when I had very little to do.  It was good though, because I finally cleaned the bathroom which is something I had been meaning to do for a while.  It looks great now and I'm not afraid to drop my toothbrush in the sink any more.  Yeah, it was that gross.

I also started to organize the towel closet.  The one shelf is a grave yard for all the patterns and extra thread I don't use during a project.  It got a little out of hand so I took it all out and put it in a box.  A box that Kitten decided would be a good little bed for her, even though it was way to small for her.  She still slept soundly in it for a couple hours.

Tyler asked me to do the dishes too.  And since I had nothing else to do, I didn't complain at all.  There weren't that many.  And my hands didn't get very prune-ish.  It was nice.

And once I was done with all that house work, I sat down to work on my orca cross-stitch.  It's coming along nicely and I can't wait for it to be done.  It's going to look so cool!!

Now we are relaxing by a movie, one about vampires and creatures like that.  I don't really like it but Tyler wanted to watch it.  I guess that's what Google and blogging is for.

It's been a pretty good day even though it wasn't the most busy.  I'm hoping to get some sleep tomorrow morning.

That's all for now.

Well Deserved Weekend

This morning the sun was shining and it was actually nice outside.  Unfortunately though we were both inside working and missing out on the sunshine.

My day was kinda busy again.  Just doing few things around the lab.  Organizing binders and other boring things like that.  I had a few people to take blood from and some x-rays to do.  The day went by pretty quickly it seemed.

I came home at 4 and went to the store right away to get some change.  We were going to Shearwater for supper and needed some cash to pay the boat man.  Supper was super good.  We had some hot wings and a meat lovers pizza.  We didn't eat all the pizza so now we have supper for tomorrow night as well.

As we were paying for supper the boat left to come back to Bella Bella.  We were going to get on that boat but he left without us.  Fortunately the restaurant called him back and we didn't need to wait another hour to come home.

We got home and started to watch some of the playoff game that was on.  Sonja was playing with the cat and then decided that she wanted to YouTube cat videos.  She watched a funny video about fainting cats.  If you can you all should watch it because she was killing herself laughing and tears streaming down her face.  YouTube Fainting Goat Kittens.  I even thought it was funny.

Nothing on tap for the rest of the night.  I am really tired and will go to bed early as Saturdays I can't sleep in ever so I might as well get sleep tonight.

Longest week ever!!

It turns out that this week is the longest week ever and it seems like it's never going to end.  It was going at a good solid pace and it was seeming like Friday was coming soon.  And then I mentioned the fact that it was going fast and it slowed right down.  It's like the week decided to just slow down to bug and torture me.  But, it's finally Friday tomorrow and that makes me so excited.  I love Fridays.

And today was an alright day.  I kind of found out more about my work situation.  Basically, it's looking like I wont have a job in a few weeks.  And I'm realizing what a crazy organization I'm working in.  It takes months and months and months to get a security clearance, where they ask you all sorts of questions about your thoughts and financial situations and they put you through a bunch of tests... and then you finally have it.  BUT, when you totally screw up in multiple ways, it's equally as hard to get that clearance taken away.  It's so stupid.  How come I wouldn't get a clearance if I had loads of debt and thought some really crazy things, BUT if I start to think really crazy things during a job, it is almost completely impossible to get kicked out.  It's just annoying.

As for the day, I'm not really sure when people worked because they mostly just stood around and talked.  I worked, mainly because what I was doing could be done while taking part in the conversation.  And my day kind of revolved around the thoughts of my job.  It's kind of all-consuming.  I just want to know for sure.  It is nice at least knowing that I likely will not have a job.  It's always better to know something then to be in the dark.

Another thing that's really nice is that I have been told that since I got to that office, they are finally not playing catch up.  The office is keeping on track and it wasn't before November.  It's nice to hear that it's mostly because of the fact that I have a good work ethic.

Any way, enough tooting my own horn.

We went for a walk this evening.  It was finally a beautiful day.  This morning, when the sun peaked out from the clouds, it got so hot in here and it was amazing.  I love starting a day with awesome weather.  And it continued all day long.  It was the greatest day that we've had all year so far.

One more day to go.  Friday is coming soon....

Happy birthday to my dad.  It was yesterday but it wasn't my day to blog so I couldn't wish him happy birthday then... so, Dad, happy birthday!!!  I love you!

Kitty is being so super cute right now.  Laying on the floor in her cone.  She gets to go to the doctor in a few weeks.  A vet clinic is coming to town for some free pet care.  Small towns are pretty awesome.

And I'm pretty sure it's raining now...

Off to bed soon.... mornings have a tendency of coming early.

Today was a different day at work.  The clinic was closed.  There were no Dr.'s seeing patients, but I still managed to be busy all day.  It helped that after lunch there was an actual emergency come in so I was busy doing x-rays for that and blood work and whatnot.

So with all the busyness the day went by quickly, unfortunately the flip side of that is that I wasn't able to study like I thought I would be able to.  I thought with no doctors in the clinic that I would be slow and have lots of time to study and get ready for my exam I had to write tonight.  Since I didn't study at work I came home opened the books right away.  I studied and when Sonja came home she started supper.  We were having chicken wraps.  She wanted to watch her favorite show, America's Next Top Model so I went into the bedroom to keep studying.  I took a break to eat our supper when it was ready.  I have been impressing Sonja with the menu this week and she really enjoyed it.

I went back into the bedroom to study after supper.  I finished up and wrote my test.  It went pretty good I think.  I'll see in a couple days.  I had to fax in my work for some of the questions so I went to the hospital and came home to relax.

We watched a little bit of the Canucks vs Blackhawks game and now we are watching Modern Family.

After this we are going to go to bed early for once.  We have both been tired all week.  The weather today finally turned and was a little bit sunny today.

I feel like I've been really lazy with my blogs in the last few days.  It makes me sad because I keep forgetting to add details about our day, and the moment has past.  I know I don't have the greatest memory, but I expect myself to at least remember a day's worth of adventure...

So, I have to start this blog with something that I did Sunday.  I was really ambitious with my lunch and I decided to make a fried egg on a bagel.  I have seen my Dad do it so many times, that I thought it would be easy.  Wrong!  It turns out that watching someone fry an egg and then trying to copy what he does is the worst idea ever.  I kind of ruined my lunch.  I'm not really sure what went wrong.  I cracked an egg into the fry pan and put some cheese on it.  And some how, in a pretty short amount of time, I ruined my lunch.  The egg didn't fry like my Dad's always did.  It made me sad.  But it also made me remember those mornings when I would walk into the kitchen and my loving Dad would ask if I wanted a fried egg with gouda melted in it.  Maybe that was the difference - I used cheddar, not gouda.

As for today, it was another day of beautiful scenery and a full day of work.  I don't think I will ever get use to the view.  It's just so beautiful here.  After another regular morning, we were off to work.  My day started normal enough.  The last few days, I had been moving around all the files to make more room in the file room.  I made about 2 and a half drawers empty and that was pretty fun.  So, today I had to relabel  all the drawers.

For lunch, I had a bowl of cereal.  I was extremely unmotivated to make any thing real so it was the best I could do.

I got back to work with the promise that I didn't have to answer the phones or really do much else all day.  I got to take an online course to better prepare myself for working in the job I have.  I really thought I would get a good chunk of it done today, but then something came up.

We were notified of a dog that didn't look so good.  It looked like it was hit by a car.  And we had to decide wether or not it was fit enough to be sent down to Vancouver or if it had to be put down.  And I guess when the guys went to go load it into the truck for the one way trip up Mountain Road, the dog walked to the food dish and didn't look too bad after all.  But after talking with it's owners, it was determined that it was too injured to send out.  He was brought to the detachment and was given a shower.  For the rest of the afternoon, we were getting sad faced family members coming and saying their last good byes.  It was awful.  I didn't go near that room of tears because I didn't want to get too attached to this dog.  It's too sad.  And, since there was lots of conversations and people all around, it was soon time to go home.

I didn't get to work out today because I thought it would be rude to be running right beside a grieving family.  I came home to find Tyler working on the dishes.  I joined him, thinking how lucky I was that I didn't have to wash.  We both hate washing because it turns our hands into prune hands.  And Tyler hates it when I get prune hands because I sing the Prune song for a long time afterwards.  I happen to love the Prune song.  And I will now let everyone in on the Prune song lyrics:

No matter how young a prune may be, he's always full of wrinkles.  A baby prune is like his dad, but he's not wrinkled half so bad.  We've got wrinkles on our face, a prune has wrinkles every place.

My parents use to sing that to us when we would get out of the bath because we had stayed in there for so long that we were all wrinkly.  I love that song!

We had BLT's for supper.  Actually, there was more then just the BLT on our bagels.  It was a really good.

And then I called one of my dear friends.  I got to talk with Joni for about 2 hours tonight and it was a really good talk.  We talked about pretty much everything and it was awesome to talk to a good friend again.

And now we are kind of settling down for the night.  Dancing with the Stars is on and even though I kind of think the results show is a big waste of time, we will watch it.  I would cross-stitch but I'm getting tired and Tyler is sitting by our lamp, so it would be tough to see what I'm doing.

I still don't know what is going on with my job.  And I don't think any one knows, which is super annoying but at least I've been blessed enough to have a job up until this point.  May is coming pretty quickly and someone is going to have to make a decision soon or later so it's nice to finally be getting some sort of answer.

Kitten was really good last night and didn't wake us up but I know we are both still tired.  Tyler has a final exam tomorrow, so send up prayers for him to get a restful sleep and enough time to study tomorrow at work.

I don't think I left anything out... but I'm sure I will think of something later.

Monday

Again another week started.  After getting a late call back last night and not getting back until midnight, then having to wind down before going to sleep, I was pretty tired this morning and did not want to get up, or go to work.  But I did.  The day was steadily busy, not with patients but with little jobs that needed to be done inside the lab.  Things that needed to be updated to new standards.  Fortunately all this made the day go by quickly.  Before I knew it it was after 4 and time to go home.

I came home and relaxed for a few minutes before Sonja came home.  We decided to have subs tonight for supper.  We had sub meat, buns, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles and cheese.  They were the best sandwiches I have ever had homemade.  It was almost comparable to real Subway.  We finished up and stupidly decided to not do the dishes.  Now there will just be more tomorrow.  I'm not sure why we always let them sit.  Every time we regret doing it.

The night has been relaxing.  Sonja was on the phone with her sister and just rejoined me.  Today we have had every type of weather imaginable.  We had some sun sneaking out this morning.  Then some cloud and  rain.  At lunch we were hit with some hail and snow, with some rain to wash it away again.  It is supposed to finally clear up for a few days tomorrow.  I hope it does because I am tired of the rain.  It's April, winter should be over.

I'll probably be heading to bed soon, but Sonja is watching Dancing with the Stars so who knows when she will join me.

One year!

Happy one year wedding anniversary to my loving and wonderful husband.  It's been a very quick year - I can't believe that it's been a year since I walked down the isle in my beautiful dress to Tyler waiting on the other end.  One year since it was so windy that our 6 foot sub blew all over the church parking lot.  Here's a funny story that some people might not know about the day before our wedding.  After we were finished rehearsing for the wedding, all our friends and family gathered in the basement of Malmo church for a 6 foot celebratory sub.  Tyler and I were really looking forward to this sub because we love eating subs.  As we get down into the basement of the church, we notice that the sub wasn't as big as we thought it would be.  We moved on rather fast from that thoughts and had a great evening.  After our wedding day had wrapped up, Tyler told me that there was a reason why the sub didn't look 6 feet long... because it really wasn't.  It was only 4.5 feet long.  While our friends were bringing the sub into the church, the wind decided to pick up and knocked some of it on the ground.  I wasn't told about it because people thought it would upset me.  I actually laughed my head off when I heard that story, especially the part about how our friends even considered picking up the dropped pieces, dusting them off and letting us all eat it anyway.  What would we do without our dear friends...

Any way, today was a pretty awesome day.  It was pretty subdued but we kind of celebrated last weekend in Vancouver.  Tyler was on call today so it was kind of hard to do much.  Also, it rained all day and recently started snowing... so we didn't even go for a walk, except to the Band Store.

I got up earlier then I wanted, mostly because Tyler was breathing so loud.  I can't stand it when he breathes loud so I got out of bed.  I also slept in yesterday so it was Tyler's turn today.  Once Tyler got out of bed, we started to clean our place.  It kind of turned into a disaster around here, so I started on dishes while Tyler vacuumed and started laundry.

After our place was cleaned up, we played another 3 games of yahtzee.  Tyler won 2 out of 3 games played this afternoon.  Tyler stole my lucky dice and I lost my game.  What a little turkey.

Our afternoon was kind of uneventful.  We played a few more rounds of yahtzee and ate some good food.  I cross-stitched a bit and will again once I'm done writing this.

Kitten had a good day too.  She had many hours of coneless time, got to play lots and slept for hours.  Tyler accidently vacuumed up one of her toys so we had to make her fell better.  Luckily for us, that toy was just a ball of tin foil on a string... we just need to find new string for her.

It's been a great anniversary day and a great year.  I can't believe it's already a year gone.  That sure didn't take long.

Today was a lazy day which was nice since we didn't really get to relax our last weekend. I was woken up this morning a few times by the cat and then officially just after 9 to go into work. I was there for about 5 minutes as the nurses needed glucometer strips. So I went in for the easy callback and was back home right away. I tried to surf the Internet this morning but I had no luck and finally gave up. I the made the shopping list. Around 11 I went back to work to pack up our send outs to Vancouver and took them up to the airport.

On the way home I stopped at the store to pick up the groceries. Since I was out and it would save us from going out again in the rain. I came home and Sonja was just out of bed. We spent the rest of the day relaxing and watching tv. It was good though. Tomorrow hopefully the weather will cooperate with us and we can go for a walk or something.

For supper we had a taco tortilla bake. It was good, but I wasn't overly hungry for more jan one piece. After supper we played a few games of yahtzee. Sonja won them all. It was kinda discouraging.

We also watched a movie called Hereafter. It was really boring and nothing happened between the beginning and the end. I would not recommend it to anybody.

Nothing else planned for the night. I will be challenging Sonja to a rematch of yahtzee.

Friday Friday, say that you love me!

I have been waiting for this day for a whole week.

It started with Kitten setting up camp on my back/shoulder.  I was sleeping on my stomach and, after crawling all over my back and legs, she settled down right by head.  It was pretty cute, even though she woke me up an hour before the alarm.

Tyler got up with me this morning as he had to study for a test he took this evening.  It's nice waking up at the same time because then I'm not jealous that he gets to sleep in for an hour after I have to get up.

Once at work, I got to doing my to-do list.  I had a pretty big list of files to go through today and I got a good chunk done.  It feels good to cross things off like that.  Unfortunately, it's been a really lazy last few days and today was no exception.  Everyone at work was just dragging their feet today.  I did get a lot of done today which felt good.  But my work is getting a little on my nerves.  I'm thinking that I'm easily irritated these days because I'm pretty close to maybe not having this job any more.  May 2nd is the date that the other woman is possibly coming back.  And it's looming over me and I don't like it.

Our evening has been going good.  We planned to have salmon again but it gets a little tiresome eating it 4 days a week.  So Tyler had chicken burgers and I had a combination of fruit and cheese and carrots.  It was pretty good.

Tyler did his test this evening and thinks he did pretty good.  Our evening has been relaxing and that's what I needed after a week of work.

No plans for the rest of the evening.  Probably go to bed after a movie or 2.  It's going to be a good weekend, as it is another weekend.

Enjoy!

Study night equals late blog

Today was an average day. Nothing exciting happened at work and I wasn't bored but not super busy. Unfortunately I was to busy to study any. Which is to bad because I have a test to do tomorrow. Hopefully I can get some studying done tomorrow at work so I know this a little bit better. I had to stay a half hour overtime to finish some things up before coming home for supper.

Supper was night three of four this week of salmon suppers. We are almost done this fish and then I'll be done with salmon for a while. They are just so big and we are just two people, we have to thaw the whole thing and eat it all in a week.

After supper Kendra came down for a bit to talk. We are getting her to pick us up some more cat food so the cat doesn't starve.

After she left I went to study. I studied all night until ten and still don't feel so good about it. I will get up tomorrow with Sonja so I can study some more and see if I can sneak some time at work. I am tired and we will probably be going to bed soon. Also our Internet won't load up blogger so I am forced to type this on my tiny phone keyboard.

Where to start with my exciting day..... I have no idea. I really lack any creativity to make my boring day sound even remotely worth reading so I apologize in advance for this lame post.

After a decent sleep, a warm shower and a cheese bagel, I was off to work. Today was an okay day. Like the rest of the week, I was pretty busy all day but I couldn't tell you what I did. I remember being trained on a few things, I checked a few things on the computer and answered the phones. It was a day that went by with laughs and soon it was over.

I worked out and came home. Once Tyler got home, supper was made. We had lemon salmon and garlic bread. It was a strange combination but it was so good.

We did dishes and started to listen to the oiler game on the Internet. We stopped after it was 2-0 because losing isn't something we want to spend time with.

And it's off to bed shortly. Kitten is freshly coned after a newly discovered wound on the side of her face. She is in a bad mood now. It's funny.

Have a good night.

Oilers win...again

Today was a good day.  I was busy at work pretty well all day and before I knew it, I was home for lunch. I threw in some chicken burgers and waited for them to cook.  I took my lunch early since I was too busy to get a coffee break.  So I got to spend some extra time with Sonja over lunch.  After Sonja went back to work I got a phone call from the RCMP.  They were just working on PAL paper work and needed to go through the screening process with me on the phone.  After that was done I was able to eat.

I went back to work and continued to be kinda busy.  I joked with alot of the Vancouver fans at work that Edmonton was going to win their game tonight.  They were playing again, this time in Edmonton.  I was looking forward to watching the game tonight as it was supposed to be on sportsnet out here.

Eventually it was 5 o'clock and I was able to come home to Sonja and supper.  We decided we are having fish all week this week.  So it was my job to filet it tonight.  I then cut it into four so we can have it four different ways this week.  So we had salt and pepper salmon with rice.

We were done at 6, just in time for the Oilers game to start.  Unfortunately it was on the new Sportsnet channel that we don't get so we had to settle with listening to it on 630 CHED online.  I had to go back to work at 7 for a quick call back.  I was back in 15 minutes in time for the last half of the second period.

It was a good game to listen too.  Edmonton won the game 2-0.  It is a nice feeling being able to go into work tomorrow, knowing the last team beat the first team...again.

No plans for the rest of the night.  Sonja is watching Dancing with the Stars and I have some popcorn and will do a little bit of studying.

Monday Monday

What a weekend!!  I had the best time ever with Tyler as we ran around Vancouver.  After reading Tyler's blog about the weekend, I realized he forgot to mention a funny moment that I'm sure you all will get a kick out of.  Every time Tyler would go to take a closer look at a fish, coral, or whatever sea creature we were looking at, he would get a little too close and bonk his head on the glass.  It was so funny to hear that sound once in a while.

As for today, it was a pretty good day.  I woke up and went to work.  I got to work and quickly figured out that apparently no one knows how to put away files.  There was 2 huge piles of files just waiting for me.  It made me a little upset that I always have to do all the grunt work and I always will.  I mean, it's easy for everyone to just put away what they take out.

My day was filled with minor annoyances like that.  I also got in a bit of trouble for something pretty silly.  I was sent an email last week on how to conclude a certain type of file and I was sent it with very little instruction on how to use that information.  And today, I was asked if I was doing it properly... and I didn't really know how to answer her question.  It was frustrating to get in a bit of trouble for never being told how to do something and being expected to know how to do it.  I don't know if that made any sense but that's the day I had.

The afternoon was a lot better as I got to tune out the world and type some statements.  I enjoy typing statements as they pass the time real well.  After work, I got to work out and come home for supper.

We were going to have a taco cake type thing, but we got lazy and we didn't take out any meat so instead we had leftovers.  I had the last piece of pizza from yesterday and Tyler cooked up some wings.  He said he will balance his meal out later with a bowl of popcorn - what a nut!

After we tossed out wing bones out the window for a ravin frenzy, we sat down on the couch to do some cross-stitching and Tyler started to study.  His work phone went off and soon he was back at work again.

I'm watching Dancing with the Stars and enjoying it while I blog.  Kitty is cleaning herself and being so cute.

Awesome Weekend

Well for all of those sitting on the edge of your seat from our last blog, wondering how our trip went.  Well it started out great.  The plane came in and we had no problems leaving the island for our weekend getaway.  We got into Vancouver and caught the skytrain to get downtown to our hotel.  It was really simple.  Our stop was the end of the line so there was no way we could have missed our stop and end up lost somewhere along the way.  We got off and hit the street.  We had to meet up with someone Sonja used to work with, as they forgot their power cord for their laptop and were down in Vancouver for a week or so.  So we met them just outside our hotel and made the exchange.

We checked in and went to our room.  We were kinda cool so I put on a sweater and then it was off to the mall to get our shopping list all checked off.  Sonja needed some new jeans, and shoes that don't leak when we walk to the store and stuff, as well as shampoo and soap and stuff.  Sonja also wanted some new shirts. So we scoured the mall looking for her jeans.  It took a while and we only had a few hours until the mall closed.  Sonja is usually pretty picky when she is looking for clothes, especially jeans.  It was coming down to the wire, the mall closed at 9 and at 8:30 I had to take charge and pretty much make her buy some new pants.  She finally found some and they fit and she liked them so that was that.  We bought them and then I still needed some socks, so we rushed down to the Sears and bought some.  The cashier marked them down for me because they were in the middle of marking down prices for the next day.  We got out of there with 5 minutes before closing time.  Since we were in such a hurry to get everything, we hadn't eaten yet, so then we had to find a restaurant and eat.  We passed a White Spot on our way to the mall so we decided to eat there on our way back to the hotel.  It was my birthday meal, a week late.  It was so good.  I ate a lot.  When I finished my meal the waitress offered me more fries.  I was taken by surprise with this question as that has never been offered before.  I gave her a stupid look and eventually I said yes.  So I ate my second helping of fries and it was extra filling.  We went back to the hotel after this and went to bed for the night.

I set the alarm for after 7 on Saturday as we were off to the aquarium.  I thought that it opened at 8 and we wanted to be there before the crowds.  So we got up and went for the continental breakfast and went to the bus stop to catch the bus to the aquarium.  We got there about twenty after eight, only to find that the aquarium didn't open for another hour.  So we walked around Stanley Park for a bit.  We got back to the aquarium and found that the gift store was open so we killed another twenty minutes looking in there until the doors opened.

They finally did and we went in.  It was a really fun time.  We saw lots of fish and sea creatures, as well as seals, dolphins a porpoise, and beluga whales.  Sonja faced her whale fear and even thought the whales were kind of cute. We eventually had some lunch.  They had an amazon exhibit as a special, complete with monkeys, sloths, tropical birds, anacondas, and monster fish.  We finished up at the aquarium as it got really busy around 1:30 and was starting to get hard to walk around and see things.  We decided to go for another walk around a section of the park before catching the bus back to the hotel.

On the way back to the hotel we decided to go back to the mall for a few more things.  I bought a pair of shoes and some soap that we forgot the night before.  We walked back to the hotel and Sonja took a short nap and I surfed the internet for a little bit before getting ready for the game.  We got our jerseys on and went to Subway for a quick supper so we wouldn't be hungry the whole night.  We then continued on our way to the arena which happened to only be a few minutes away.  We only got a few dirty looks and calls on our walk there.  We were early to the arena and had to wait outside for a while before they opened the doors.  We finally got in and walked a lap of the arena before finding our seats.  We walked up the stairs of our section and the usher informed us that we could go down to ice level behind the bench where they come out and watch the warmup from down there.  So we promptly said thank you and found our way back down towards the ice.  We chose a spot right in the corner of the glass and the tunnel they walk down from the dressing room.  It was so cool to be so close and watch them from the bench.  While they were practicing the assistant coaches were writing down the Canucks line combinations so they could see what they were up against and match their lines.

After the warmup we went up to our real seats and settled in for the game.  We were pretty excited for the puck to drop.  Soon it came and the game was under way.  It is tough to be in the middle of all the Go Canucks Go cheers, but soon enough the Oilers opened up the scoring.  It bounced in off the post.  Nobody saw it but I saw one of the Oilers skating across the ice pumping his fist like it was a goal so I stood up and cheered.  The play went under review so I sat down and waited for it to be officially announced as a goal before standing up and cheering again.  It was a good game as they scored three more goals and gave us lots of opportunity to stand up and cheer and basically mock the Vancouver fans.

We had some guys sitting beside us who were pretty good sports and were joking with us all night.  When Vancouver scored their only goal everyone stood up to cheer.  I told the guys beside us to enjoy it because we already had three of them that night.

It was as stressful of a game that we had ever been to.  Because we would either been leaving with our heads held high and big smiles or swallowing our pride after all the cheering because the Oilers blew a three goal lead.  I'm glad we left on the winning side of things.  It made the trip well worth it.

We walked back to the hotel and made our way to bed as we had to get up early this morning to make it to the airport in lots of time to check in before take off.

We woke up, went for breakfast and made our way to the airport.  The trip home was uneventful.  It was a little bit bumpy as it was kinda windy here in Bella Bella, but we made it safe.  We came home and quickly made a shopping list and went to the store.  The rest of the day was spent relaxing and recovering from our fun busy weekend.

We are just watching Transformers 2 ending up the night.

Yippee!

Today is going to be the start of a really great weekend.  Actually, that is just what I'm hoping.  Right now, it's raining and there is a fog in the air.  I just really hope that the plane comes in today and is able to fly out.  Tyler keeps reassuring me that it will because it's not that foggy outside... but with my track record of getting out of this place, I'll only believe that we are getting out of here when we are landing in Vancouver.

I had an amazing sleep last night.  I love it when you get to sleep in and you don't have to do anything the next day.  It makes for a relaxing evening and a great night.  I woke up about 45 minutes ago to the sound of rain on our window.  I'm not freaking out about it yet but I hope it doesn't get any worse then this.

We have a few things planned for before we head out.  We need to get some loonies and twonies for the buses, maybe a few snacks for the trip down and we need to pack.  Kitten is making that a little difficult as her favorite place to sit is on the suitcase, or in the suitcase.  We also have to drop Kitten off at her weekend vacation spot.  She is having more of a stay-cation then we are.

Any way, I should maybe go pack a few things.  I'm so excited about tonight.  I get to buy new pants.  It's a big deal when you have a huge hole in the only pair you have and there aren't any stores around.  I think this time I'll buy more then one good pair.  I can't wait to walk around a mall again.  I can't wait to see a big city again.

I just thought I would mention that we likely wont be blogging tomorrow night, so don't be expecting anything.  It might happen, but come on, we're on vacation, don't be holding your breath for it.

Pray the weather clears up for us.
