Midweek

I didn't fall back to sleep after I shut the alarm off this morning.  I got up to the blustery morning and jumped in the shower and got ready for work.  The wind blew all night and was really howling this morning.  The same weather front you will be experiencing shortly.

I got into work and it was a pretty slow morning.  I just had a collection from an inpatient to do and that was all.  We are having a new analyzer installed, so the people doing that came up around 9 and started to give us the rundown of the new machine for a couple hours before lunch.

I came home for lunch and had a sandwich with Sonja.  But first I walked in and found that Sonja had fallen asleep.  She got out of bed this morning at 7:30, even though I told her to go back to bed.  She had fallen asleep for three hours after I left for work.  The wind was finally dying down by the time I went back into work.  The afternoon was way different than the morning.  We have 4 doctors in town this week and it seemed like everyone of them was ordering stuff to do on every patient they saw.  So it was pretty chaotic in our tiny little lab with four people in it.  Even though the doctors knew we were busy, it didn't slow them down and it was just kind of frustrating.

I came home around 4:30 and Sonja was just throwing the meal in the oven that we were supposed to eat last night.  It was done in about 45 minutes and we were eating in no time.  It was pretty good and I was full after we were done.  I needed to do some studying since I was busy for most of the day and wasn't able to do any at work.

We are both still pretty tired for whatever reason.  Maybe the lack of sunshine and constant rain, but whatever it is I can't wait for my time off in a month and a half.

Good day!

Today was a really good day.

This morning, the alarm went off and Tyler shut it off and promptly fell back asleep.  I'm convinced we both would have slept for a long time if it weren't for our noisy upstairs neighbor.  For once, his being an annoying stompy person came in handy for us.  I felt Tyler getting out of bed as Stompy Heal Walker's alarm was going off upstairs.  It always goes off at 7 am and he never shuts it off.  It's annoying 99.9999% of the time, except for today, when it helped get Tyler out of bed and to work on time.

I remained in bed for a little while and was joined by Kitten who laid down on Baby J.  Baby didn't really appreciate it because there was a lot of movement and kicks to Kitten.

I got out of bed and enjoyed my morning granola as I read my devotional book.  Then I surfed the web, looking for pictures of Madison's 1st birthday but they weren't on there yet.  I spent the morning playing with Kitten, watching my belly shake as Baby J danced around, and I did the dishes.  There weren't that many dishes so it didn't take too long.

Tyler came home for lunch and we enjoyed some time together.  I had to a gestational diabetes screening test to do so Tyler brought the gross drink home for me to drink.  It wasn't as gross as I had heard that it would be, but it wasn't a pleasant experience.  I had to drink 296 mL of a drink that had 50 g of sugar in it in 5 minutes.  It wasn't bad to start with.  it tasted like that mcdonalds juice that they always served at elementary school functions.  But after a while, it started to make me cringe.  There was so much sugar in there that it felt like my teeth were going to fall out.  It had almost a gritty quality to it.  I managed to get it all down and then I felt it coursing through my veins.  My heart started beating much faster and I just wanted to go for a run.

I went with Tyler to work to get my blood drawn.  While I was there, Tyler's co-worker gave us a gift.  It is a camo pair of pants and a sweater.  It is so cute.  My blood was normal so I don't have diabetes and that is really awesome.  There really wasn't a concern that I did have it but it's nice to know that I didn't develop it.

I spent the afternoon playing DDR on an easy level, cross stitching and I started to make dinner at around 3 pm.  I started early because it needed to be in the oven for almost an hour and I wanted to just be able to pop it in the oven when Tyler came home and it would be ready for 5.  And just because I started early, we didn't end up eating it.  I got a text from Tyler right at the time I was finishing up the dish that it was Carl's birthday today and we were invited over for dinner.  So now we have a meal all ready to go for tomorrow.

When Tyler came home, we watched some news and then headed out to Jan and Carl's house for a birthday meal and celebration.  It was a really great time, where we got to get out of the house and hang out with some fun people.  We had a meal of fancy mac and cheese with a cake for dessert.  Afterwards we just sat around the table and enjoyed the conversation.  We got a ride home because there is a storm coming through and was raining and very windy.

We are now home and getting ready for bed.  Tyler doesn't want to sleep through his alarm again tomorrow morning.

Baby J was moving all day long and it was so great.  I loved it and I can't wait to meet this tiny baby!

Exhausted

Well it was an exhausting weekend for me.  After being up earlier than expected on Saturday and not really sleeping in yesterday leg to a tired me.  I was called into work at 9 last night and then I was told that I needed to go in again at midnight.  So instead of going to bed when I wanted to, we stayed up and waited for midnight to come around so I could go into work and get home to bed.  I got home from that about twenty after 12 and it was straight to bed.

Morning came far to soon for me and it was back to the grind and I got out of bed and ready for work.  I drug myself to work and start the day.  It was pretty slow day this morning.  My boss came back to work today so that means that I am no longer on call.  It's been a long month for me on call.  I have been on call for 21 days this month.  It's been a long haul.  So I can finally relax not worrying about the phone tonight.

The rest of the day was also pretty slow until about 3:30.  It picked up a little bit, but it wasn't too bad.  I was still able to come home on time.  Sonja had planned on needing whip cream for a meal this week.  So we had bought some on Saturday.  Looking at the recipe this afternoon, Sonja realized that we forgot to buy some of the ingredients.  So we decided to make a chocolate pie in order to use up our whip cream that we no longer needed.  It also was due to expire tomorrow so we wanted to use it up.  I went into work and a few minutes later I got a text from Sonja telling me that our whip cream was actually 2% milk and Sonja had already started to make the pie crust.  So when I came home and Sonja and I went to the store to replace our 'whipped cream'.

I made up the chocolate pie filling and we made some supper.  It was simple.  Just pasta and sauce.  But it was good.  After supper we watched last nights episode of Dexter.  After Dexter we went for a walk around town since it wasn't raining and there were no clouds out.

We came back home to enjoy our warm house as it was kind of cool outside.

Dance Dance!

Today, Baby J was dancing and moving so so much today.  I was laying on the bed after we got home from shopping and Baby J was moving so much that Tyler could finally see it on the outside instead of just being able to feel it.  It is always so fun to watch Baby J move and it's happening more and more often.  I love it.  I'll be reading on the couch and Baby will actually kick the book.  It's my favorite part of every day.

This morning, Tyler got out of bed to study while I stayed in bed for another hour after him.  Kitten joined me and was scratching on the mattress, so Tyler came and put her on the bed.  She climbed up on my side and we slept for a little while longer.

I got out of bed and had a pretty lame breakfast.  I hate it when there is no milk in the house because then I have to find something else other then granola or cereal to eat.  I ended up having a banana and then a little while while later I heated some leftover biscuits with peanut butter.  It was super super dry and I didn't really enjoy it.

We headed out to the store to try to buy some milk but before we even got to the store, we noticed that the trailers weren't even outside so we just turned around and came back home.  Then Baby J did his little dance and it was so much fun.

We spent the day relaxing and enjoying being home together.  Kitten slept most of the day and the deck cats were in and out of their hotel.  We watched Calico jump down off our sea wall onto the rocks below and stalk a bird.  She didn't catch it in the end but we were cheering her on.

We had classy chicken for dinner and watched the Oiler hockey game on the internet.  They ended up winning and that was nice to see.

Right now, Tyler is cuddling with Kitten and I am typing this blog.  We have no plans for the rest of the evening, probably go to bed early.

It is also our niece's 1st birthday today.  I'm sure my family is at my sister's house right now celebrating so I hope they are all having a great day.  Happy birthday Madison!  Baby J is kicking right now in honor of your 1st birthday.

Today started way too early.  The cat was being a pain for a while this morning, and as soon as she settled down my phone rang at 7.  So that stopped my sleeping in at 20 minutes only.  So I got up and did some x-rays for a broken hip.  It took a little bit to get them all done, as immobility of a sore hip always takes some time.  I was able to leave about 8.  I came home and found that Sonja was up and already showered and getting her breakfast ready.  I wasn't about to go back to sleep.  I did some internet surfing before doing some studying.  I studied until about 11:30 at which time we trekked out to the store to do our shopping.  We ended up getting most things on our list, except for milk, but that will be in tomorrow.

We got home and I made some biscuits for breakfast/lunch.  They turned out much better this time around than the last time I tried to make them.  So I had probably 5 or 6 biscuits that kept me full for most of the day.  Around 2:30 I got pretty tired and went to take a nap.  I slept for about 45 minutes and then Sonja woke me up.  I didn't want to sleep all day so I drug myself out of bed again and rejoined Sonja in the living room.  We just kinda snacked and had leftovers for supper.

We we invited to a halloween appetizer party tonight, so we went up there for 7 and had some finger foods and such.  We were up there for 2 hours or so.  They were all going over to Shearwater for the annual halloween bash that they hold over there.  We came back home and watched some of the Eskimo game.

Pretty relaxing day and night and we will be off to bed soon.

Friday

Today was a regular day with nothing too extraordinary happening in it.

Tyler got up for work while I stayed in bed.  I got out of bed at 9 and ate a really tasty breakfast.  I've been eating granola with melted peanut butter all mixed together.  It's tasty, it's filling and it's easy.

After eating, I did the dishes while watching Kitten race around the house.  I'm not sure why she does that, but I sure do love watching.  It's so funny because she will also growl and bark as she takes off.  What a little stinker.  Once dishes were done, I read my devotional and then played on the computer.  I also worked out and waited for Tyler to come home for lunch.

Tyler came home and was gone again an hour later.  His day hadn't been too exciting so he had lots of time  to do all the boring stuff that needs to be done, like ordering supplies.

I spent the afternoon cross stitching, playing with Kitten, making dinner and just enjoying the day.  I made scalloped potatoes for the meal but I wanted to be able to just put it in the oven when I needed, so I made the dish right after Tyler left for work.  It was pretty easy to make.

When Tyler came home, we popped a ham in the oven and went out for a walk.  It had been raining on and off all day long and we managed to get outside while it wasn't raining.  We got back home and I realized that walk took all the energy out of me.  I was so tired.  And the potatoes were a little over cooked and the ham was incredibly salty, but dinner was really good.  And we now have leftovers for tomorrow.  While we were sitting there, we watched as rain came across the channel and drenched everything.  We then watched as it stopped.  It's really cool to see that very obvious waves of rain.

Our evening has been uneventful.  With me being so tired, we haven't done anything tonight.  Also, about an hour after dinner, I got so hungry so I found myself a little treat to eat and Tyler also made popcorn.  We are keeping track of the Oiler game while watching a show on tv.  It will be early to bed for us as we are both super tired and looking forward to a good night sleep.

I had a doctors appointment yesterday which went well.  I got to hear the heartbeat again, 140 beats per minute just like every other time.  I love feeling this little person move and kick.  It's the best part of my day.

500

Well tonight is our 500th post. Pretty impressive I think. Today was an ordinary day which is too bad because it is our 500th post. I was woken up by Sonja at 5. She was tossing and turning and ruffling the sheets and just being a big pain. She kept doing that for about a half hour before she settled down and went back to sleep. I got out of bed and got ready for work. It was different going to work today because it wasn't pouring rain. So I wasn't wet when I got there, just a little bit chilly. It was a slow day today. I had probably 5 people come in for bloodwork and no one for xrays. So I got a lot of things done in the lab. We are getting a new analyzer in a week so I did my online training for that most of the day.

At lunch I came home and had lunch with Sonja. She had spent the morning doing dishes, showering and taking pictures of our deck cats. I had a sandwich and Sonja just ate some toast and peanut butter. Lunch hour goes too quickly, especially when you are the only one around and have to be back to get samples sent out and such.

The afternoon was more like the morning. All I ran was one sample from Klemtu. It was pretty boring. So I got more of my online training done and finished it up. By 4 I was just wrapping up and getting ready to come home.

When I got home Sonja was watching Parks and Recreation on DVD. It was close to supper time and I was hungry. We weren't really sure what we were going to eat. So we had some leftovers and Sonja had some French toast.

After supper I tried to study but the internet didn't want me too. So instead we took the cats cone off and I spent a half hour tormenting her. She was pretty mad and dejected. But she cut my hand up pretty good.

There is an Oiler game on tonight on TSN so we are watching that. It has been pretty good. It's nice to watch good hockey for a team you actually care about. The Oilers are up 2-1 going into the third period.
