Lazy Day

Well today was pretty boring so I will tell a little bit of yesterday, only because I saw two whales swimming in the channel at lunch. It was cool to see whales again. It has been a little while, especially because we missed out on a whale swimming out in front of our place last weekend. Nothing happened at work worth mentioning. It was slow yet again. I came home and made a couple hamburgers for supper and watched TV.

This morning I was woken up by the cat way to early. She started meowing around 5 and I couldn't really get back to sleep fully. I got up at eight and vacuumed, did dishes and laundry. After that was all done I watched some TV and ate another burger for lunch. After lunch I fell asleep on the couch for half an hour until Sonja called me and woke me up. After talking to her for a few minutes I went back to sleep. I woke up around four and made some popcorn and watch Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Canada's Worst Handyman is on now and it is pretty funny to watch those people try to be handy. No plans for the rest of the night. Relax some more.

AHHHH

So, as you all know from Tyler's post last night that my trip back home didn't go according to plan. Here is my own account of the day that would never end:

We woke up. I was super excited because I was getting to come home and not go to work. I made pancakes for breakfast. They were super thick and I burned mine. I cleaned up after Tyler went to work and finished getting all my stuff ready and organized.

Tyler took me to the airport. I wasn't a huge mess when it was time for him to go back to work, although it is never fun to leave the love of your life for any amount of time. So, I sat there, all excited about coming home, and seeing family and friends. That dream was dashed when they said that my flight, 801 was completely cancelled. I didn't really think anything of it because my boarding pass said I was flight 804. I just thought of the poor suckers who now didn't have a flight out. I soon found out I was a poor sucker. I stayed around the airport, mainly because I thought I was still going out but also because Tyler was at work and I didn't feel like walking back home. Once I realized I wasn't going any where, I went into the bathroom and just cried. That was a bad idea because I get huge massive headaches when I cry like that. I composed myself and went to go see what my options were. The lady at the counter looked upset that I didn't get to go home and she told that there might be a possibility I can get out. I was the only one left at the airport so she told me there was a charted fishing flight that was landing here that wasn't full. And that's when I started praying.

It wasn't until much later that the flight actually came in. I had no idea if I was getting on it of if I would have to spend another night in Bella Bella. I was told it all depends on how much weight they are carrying. If it was under some magic number, I was allowed to get on. If it was over, then it was game over for my vacation. The numbers were in and I was told to get a hold of West Jet to change my flight because I was going. I was on hold with West Jet when I saw the ladies recalculating their math and saying, "Oh wait a moment, now we are over." I put the phone down and waited, anticipating having to go back into town.

It all happened really fast. I was told I was going for sure and to change my flight. I was on hold for about 7 minutes with West Jet when I had to board the plane. The lady who was helping me all day took the phone, and told me she would change the flight to a later one. I took off from Bella Bella not knowing when my next flight was, if she could even change it.

This chartered flight was mostly filled with fishermen. We got a great snack, consisting of a chicken wrap, cheese, chocolate, apple slices and orange juice. I don't think I should have taken one. It was only that good because these men had paid big bucks to be there...and here I was, laying low so no one would notice I snuck on that plane. I have no idea how much it cost but Pacific Coastal has taken care of it. They worked really hard to get me out of there. I am for sure going to send in my comment card with high regards to those people.

I am now in Edmonton. Last night, there was some nasty thunderclouds and windy conditions, but I am just glad to be here.

I got a text from Tyler this morning saying that its a good thing I got out yesterday because today is extremely foggy and likely no one is going any where. That's God at work right there.

This weekend I am going out to Slave Lake with my family. It's pretty much the best place on earth. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone, but my brother Tyler wont be there, (Or so I've been told) so that's too bad. It would have been good to see him too.

And that is the account of the day that wouldn't end. I did see a lot of funny people in the airports I was in. It's funny how strange people are...

I hope you all have a great safe long weekend. I miss Tyler so much again. I know this time I'm the one who is in town, but it still isn't great having to leave him out there.

Love you tons Tyler

Flight...eventually

Thursday started like most other days. Got up, had a shower and Sonja made breakfast. I went to work and Sonja finished up a few things before taking off for home. The morning was slow and I was finally able to leave for a few minutes to take Sonja to the airport for her early flight out of here. It was a little bit foggy out and we didn't think it would be to bad for the flight, but we were wrong. Her flight out never came in, to go back out. They tried landing but weren't able to and had to turn back to go to Port Hardy. So I waited around for Sonja to hear something about flying out before heading back to work. I went back and was there for probably ten minutes before being told to take my lunch break, so I went for lunch. I called Sonja to see if she had heard anything and they were going to try another plane in within the hour to get the flight out. So I ate lunch and Sonja waited for the flight. It didn't come. After lunch I went back to work, Sonja called me and told me that she might be able to get on the late flight, which doesn't leave until 5, missing her flight to Edmonton. So I went to pick her up so she didn't need to wait at the airport. I got there and Sonja was on the phone with Westjet to see if she could change her flight, if she in fact got to Vancouver. They were very good with that and told her to call back when she knew what was going on. She was also told that there was a fishing charter flying out that was non-stop to Vancouver and would be there shortly before 5. There were 24 people booked on the plane and it can hold 27 so there was room for her, if it worked out. She called Westjet again and was on hold when she found out that she could get on the charter and actually get out of here today. So the women in charge of the airport stayed on hold for her and changed her flight with Westjet to the 6:30 flight. It was all done and Westjet called and left a message on her phone so she knew it was all done. She is home know after all of this.

My day went back and forth between work and the airport. I haven't put this many kilometers on my car since we moved out here, a whole whopping 6. The rest of the day was slow at work and I was glad for the break at the airport. I saw a cruise ship go by one of the times I came home from the airport. It was a Regency ship. I had pizza for supper and watched the Discovery Channel. Not much else on plan for tonight, just watch TV and go to bed.

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

Well its Wednesday and the last day of work for Sonja. She is leaving tomorrow for 10 days. She will be going to Slave Lake for the weekend which means I will be doing all of the blogging for a few days. Again it was a super slow day. But it didn't start out as such. It was a little bit busy in the morning and it looked promising for being busy. But that was a big fat lie. It slowed down like it has every other day this week. Nothing really worth mentioning except that the big wigs from Vancouver Coastal were here for a site visit. So the hospital put on a special lunch for them and all the staff. It was a boring meet and greet and Sonja and I didn't want to be there. So looking for an opportunity to get out my phone started ringing. It was my Aunt Karla. So I talked to her for a bit and she wanted to talk to Sonja. So I went and rescued Sonja and we just came home and had our own relaxing lunch. Lunch mixed with all the staff at work, seems like work to me and not really how I would like to spend my hour off. It was good to hear an unexpected voice from home. The rest of the day had these big shots touring the hospital and talking to staff. Since they are in charge of funding, my boss wanted us to make it look like we were busy. However this couldn't have been farther from the truth. So we took out a bunch of samples from earlier in the week and got them "ready" to be analyzed. The plan worked flawlessly. They seemed to be happy that it looked like we were busy. They were only there for a few minutes and asked questions about how we do things here. After that it was almost time for me to go home. I finished up some things and then got ready to go. Just as I was about to leave I was told that these people wanted to talk with everyone else they missed during the day. So I had to stay an extra 20 minutes to let them talk to us.

I came home and Sonja was washing the dishes with supper cooking. We had chicken with potatoes, corn on the cob and gravy. It was really good. we cleaned up and then Sonja packed for her trip home. I took out the garbage, which was really starting to smell bad. Now Sonja is playing Wii and I will be joining her for a bit. We don't have any plans for the night. Relax and get ready for her to leave.

The weather changed today and it was cloudy all day. It didn't rain though which is nice, just cloudy.

Today was my Wednesday and tomorrow is my Friday. I like 3 day work weeks better then 5. I'm pretty excited to come home again. Blessed and excited. Although, I have a feeling it will be extremely tough to come home again. The next time we come home again is Christmas, which is a long time to wait to see family and friends again. It's already tough to see pictures of friends and family getting together, when I wish I could join them. I don't really want to think about what it will feel like when it's middle of November and it's actually been a long time since we've seen people. Oh well, best not to think about it. It's better to just think of the good times Tyler and I have together out here.

And today can't be described as good, but it wasn't totally awful. It started with the alarm clock playing my most hated song. Tyler likes to play it because it gets me out of bed fast. It's the most annoying song. This morning, I willed myself back to sleep and managed to block out the song. Jokes on you, Tyler!

After a breakfast of toast and orange slices, we rested before heading off to work. Work for both of us was slow. I did my scanning and then nothing else. I texted with Amy most of the day, which is a great way to pass the time. They must of noticed I had even stopped pretending to work, because I was asked, "Are you bored?" I was totally honest and said that I was fully caught up and had nothing else to do. My boss said I can go home. She was also totally caught up and didn't have anything for me to do. I was super happy.

I came home and played DDR. I love that game. Tyler came home at 4 and we made dinner together. We had home made mac and cheese. It was really tasty. We also had left overs from last night. We are both hungry again though, so I don't know what we are going to do about that. Tyler just cut me up another orange and got himself a pickle. Every week I buy 3 oranges. I haven't been eating them for some reason, so we have about 10 oranges in the fridge. And since Tyler doesn't eat oranges, I have to eat them all, by Thursday morning. I think I can do it.

I have picked up a cross-stitch pattern that I am almost done. I just have the border left to do, and I'm kind of bored of doing just one color. But I'm almost done it and can move onto something with a little more color. I will say that this pattern is beautiful. Light and dark blue farm house design. I like it.

We had to put the cone back on Kitty, as I'm sure Tyler said yesterday. She was pathetic all night. She slept with us all night, at Tyler's feet, at my side, in between us. She just mopes around, wishing we would take the cone of torture off her. But she has been a bad cat and has 2 wounds that need to heal. I hope they heal fast because I feel sorry for her.

The weather today was blustery. Cold wind coming off the ocean is never fun. It was cloudy and foggy this morning and cleared up a bit. It's still windy right now but the sky looks clear. It looks beautiful outside, but it's cold.

Tonight, we are watching Deadliest Catch. We are also trying to curb our hunger with Dunkaroos and I have an orange.

Just a few more days and I am back in Alberta. I am super sad that Tyler doesn't get to come with me. It will be fun, but it wont be the same. It will be less fun without Tyler. 10 days is a long time. Luckily we get to spend the next 5 months straight with each other.

Well, I know this hasn't been to exciting but it's all I got for tonight.

Quiet day

Well today was a very boring and slow day for me. The day started with a cat in my face which was pretty gross. I got up and showered and then had breakfast. Honey Nut Cheerios again. Then it was off to work. It was really slow in the morning with only one person needing blood work. So thats how it went. Lunch came and I went home for a sandwich and to relax from my super busy day. After lunch it was time to go back. And guess what, there was nothing going on, making the remaining few hours of my day drag by. But it was finally time to go home. I went to the store to pick up some salsa for supper. I also went to pay our internet bill but found out they are closed as they started their summer hours of only being open till 3:30, so I will have to try that again tomorrow at lunch. After supper we played some Wii and are now watching Last Comic Standing.

If you need to call us, you can reach us at 403 963 1855. This is because our phone bill was a bit outrageous this last month. Sonja's phone has been charged for incoming calls, and since all incoming calls are long distance, we were charged for all of them. Since my phone has long distance added to it we can avoid the high charges.

Thats it. Oh the cat is wearing her cone again because she has scratched a big scab on her face. She is now super depressed which will be nice when it comes to night and she won't be running around like a lunatic.

Ty and I just finished eating our weight in puffed wheat squares. Although, they all fell apart, so it was more like puffed wheat parts.

Today was a great relaxing day. However, I woke up at 8am which is never part of the weekend plan. And that is about as far as we got. We really didn't do much today but it was super nice to just be together. We watched a few movies, including "Whip it" about a girl who joins a roller derby team, "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs", and one other. I made French Toast for lunch and Classy Chicken for din din. I love Classy Chicken, and my favorite part about that recipe is that it is nearly impossible to mess it up.

Kitten was being bad today. She was scratching at the window screens and wouldn't listen when I asked her to stop. She just kept on scratching and scratching. Tyler eventually put her in her pet taxi and put her in front of the window. She calmed down and I started to feel bad for her so I let her out. She has been well behaved ever since.

During our hike, Tyler found an eagle feather. It has now become a new toy for Kitty and it's fun to throw it in the air and watch it lazily float down to the floor, all as Kitty is freaking out because its falling so slow. She just wants to get at it.

The weather was so beautiful today. So hot. We spent some time outside, although we didn't go on any epic hikes today. Tyler has recently hung up his hammock, so we were in that at one time.

Also, a very strange crane barge went past last night. I don't know if Tyler put up pictures of it, but it had 2 huge cranes on either end and it was just this big floating piece of metal. It was cool.

The rest of the night looks much like the day did. Tyler is playing Wii and I will challenge him once I get this blog posted.

Also, a few more names for Baby: Bliss, Xander Cage, Castor Troy, Vespa, and April.

I'm also getting excited for my cousin's wedding on August 7. It should be a great day and I'm really looking forward to being there!!

Today was a great day. It was so nice outside and sunny and not raining. It was nice to be able to sleep in and enjoy the day. Sonja woke up earlier and then I did. We made our shopping list and went out to get the groceries. We came home and put them away. I hung up my hammock and did some other things around the house. I made a sandwich for lunch and Sonja had a bowl of cereal. After we ate it was off for a hike. We decided to hike up Mt. Hand which isn't really a mountain, but it is the tallest point on the island. It was a pretty easy hike I thought. Some up hills but it was good. It was an old logging road for most of the way and turned into a less clear logging road which was over-grown and very wet. We were soaked from the knees down to our toes. But it was all worth it. From the top we were able to see all around. Miles and miles. We were able to see the whole island. When we got up there we scared away 15 eagles who were sitting up there. We took some pictures and came back to the apartment. The bugs were really bad in the forest so we didn't stay up there long. By the time we got back to town it was 3:45. Sonja cut my hair and then we cleaned up, ready to relax for the night. Just as we were settling down the phone rang. Sonja was being called in to guard again for the RCMP. So she went over just before 5 and will be home soon hopefully. I spent the night watching TV. There were a ton of eagles flying around and a few just below the deck. When Sonja gets home we will likely watch Transformers 2.

Not much else planned for tomorrow but we will see what happens when the day comes.

Today was a funny day. Full of random things. And it all made me laugh.

It started with not wanting to wake up. This seemed like a very long week, due to the fact that work didn't make me happy even 50% of the time. It will be great to sleep in tomorrow.

One of my co-workers had the past 2 days off so I was in charge of answering all the phones. I thought I would hate it, but doing that job means I'm actually busy the whole day. And I'm pretty much awesome at answering the phone, so it's been fun.

This morning, a guy came into the clinic. I think he is the only black man on this island, so he stood out. He asked for me and I thought it was another person wanting to book an appointment with the eye doctor (That has been happening for weeks now). So I tell him I am Sonja and he tells me (not asks me) that I am Richard's niece. For those who aren't my family, I have an uncle Richard who lives in Hay River, Northwest Territories. I was blown away. So we chatted a bit and he said I looked like my cousin, Jillian. He said that he knew my aunt Jane and uncle Richard and that he has moved to Bella Bella. I learned later that he is the new Health Director for this town. How crazy is that, that some where out in the middle of the ocean, on a small island no one has heard of, will two people meet who know the same person from another province. It's just crazy!!!

Also, something that made me laugh, I sent a fax over to Klemtu regarding a patient. The first line of the fax was, "Patient has BS that has been uncontrolled for some time...". I thought it was funny.

Today we had to drop off the Jarretts at the airport. We stayed around with them, talking and hugging. It's never nice to see some one off, especially when we don't get to see them again until Christmas. It was great to have them here. It was nice to have some one else in the house when coming home. They are now on their long way home via car. They got off the plane at Port Hardy and drove down the island this afternoon.

I came home from work after doing practically nothing from 3-5. Tyler made mac and cheese for din din and it was tasty. I have been tired all day so tonight is going to be relaxing. We played a bit of mario kart and most games I was able to beat Tyler.

The weather was cloudy all day. It was spitting on me while I was walking home and now it is super foggy out. Its clear enough that we can kind of see the land across the way. It looks kind of like a horror movie.

I have also started cross-stitching a pattern that Mormor and Morfar sent along with my parents. Its going to be really nice. Mom and Dad Jarrett also brought along many patterns that I think were given to us by Kristie or, I'm not sure I was told, but I have lots of cross-stitching to do now. Some of them are a little "old ladyish". For example, there is one called, "Feline Fantasy cat". That's going to be a fun one to do.

Kitty was being super cute pretty much all day. Right now she is sitting up, blinking her sleepy little eyes because she has slept all day long. She is so silly and cute.

This weekend we plan on going for a long hike, to adventure in the back woods of this island. We should be careful because there have been lots of bear sightings this past week. We are both looking forward to getting a good sleep tonight.

I have also thought of some more names Amy should name Baby - Aragorn, Chuck, Sergeant Tibs. Just a few of the good ones I have stored away.

Jarrett Family in Bella Bella

Momma J here...
along with Terral and Kyla.

Tyler just handed me the computer so that we could blog tonight and talk about our week here with them.

We flew in on Sunday from Port Hardy. The airport reminded us of the airport on the TV show "Wings". Some of you would remember this show. The same person gave us our boarding pass, checked our bags, took our barding pass at the door and was the same person who greeted the passengers who were disembarking the plane!
We arrived here around noon. Tyler and Sonja picked us up at the airport and took us to their place. After they had put away the things that we brought out with us and fed us some lunch we went for a walk around the town. While out we were on the lookout for eagles. We did find a few and thus began our daily watch for the eagles. They were still something cool to us prairie people even though everyone out here sees them daily.

During this week we have seen cruise ships, barges, ferries, fishing boats, float planes and kayaks go by. There is a lot of activity around here every day, which surprised us. We also have seen a big black bear at the town dump, as well as many eagles, ravens and crows.

We thought for awhile that Terral and Kyla would be able to take the float plane with the local doctor to Klemtu, but that didn't work out. However we did take the sea-bus across the channel and visited the village of Shearwater. Not a whole lot there but an interesting diversion non the less.

One evening Tyler, Kyla, Terral and I took the kayaks out and kayaked to a distant light house. It was probably a couple miles away from Bella Bella. It was a beautiful night to be on the ocean. Unfortunately, Sonja was unable to come with us as she was called in to do a shift at the RCMP detachment.

We also walked to the ferry terminal and to the airport both of which are a couple of miles from Bella Bella. The ferry terminal is south and the airport is north. It seems that people walk a lot out here. The weather was great for being out and about. Not too cold and not too hot. We did see the sun every day but one, so we feel that we were very fortunate.

Tyler and Sonja have been very good hosts to us, too bad they had to work every day that we have been out here. We are now watching TV and will be flying out in the morning and beginning our long trek home. Thanks Ty and Sonja for such a great week and sharing your lives with us.

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Wednesday was bound to happen. And it was mean spirited. I didn't get home last night until after midnight so I got a grand total of 7 hours of sleep. It's harder to deal with work issues when I only get 7 hours of sleep.

We woke up and showered this morning. I had toast with super tasty wildberry jam and Tyler had his honeynuts. He loves those honeynuts. And then off to work. I should have stayed home.

Nothing to traumatizing happened, but I wasn't in a good mood and some people just bug me. I feel kind of left out at work. They are all older then me by 20 years minimum, they all have worked together for the past few years, they all have the same sense of humor...it all works together to make me feel like I want to crawl back into bed. I was actually a little busy this morning which made it go by a little faster.

When I came home for lunch, it was prepared again, which was very much appreciated. We had tomato soup and grilled cheese. Then it was back to work. The afternoon was much better. I was probably in a better mood but I kept to myself and didn't do much. From 3-4, I practiced signing my new last name. And then I got a phone call. It was the RCMP again asking if I could guard. I didn't want to because we have family here and I would rather spend time with them then babysit bad guys. I was told I am the only available person on the rock for the time they needed. I only had to go in for 2 1/2 hours which was nice.

For dinner, Tyler and I made Classy Chicken, which is the best meal in the world. We all enjoyed that and I went off to work again. Work was good. I like the RCMP job better then the Clinic, so far.

I am now home again from work. We are watching America's got Talent.

The weather today was a little nice, a little cloudy, a little of everything.

Kitty is being a little turnkey. She was scratching at the window screen so Ty picker her up and she is now laying on the back of the couch. Last night, I accidently kneed her off the bed. I didn't think I raised my leg with that much force, but before I knew it, she was on the ground. I felt a little bad, but then I fell back asleep and she came and cuddled some more. Tyler is currently playing with her. I think he does love her.

-Sonja

I'm thinking of grabbing a little snack. Not sure what I would get...perhaps some cereal. We will see. I will keep you in suspense.

Busy day

Well today started as any other. The alarm went off and I shut it off, but instead of getting up right away we both fell back to sleep. We were asleep for 25 minutes before Sonja woke up and got me out of bed. I went and took a shower and then had breakfast. I went to work and it started out kinda slow. It picked ip though before lunch and then dwindled after. I came home at lunch and found that dad had made lunch of tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. I was really good to have a real lunch. After lunch they went across to Shearwater to spend the afternoon. Afte work I went to the store to pick up some chicken. I came back and started to make some supper. I made tacos and they were pretty good. Sonja went off to work for the RCMP tonight and the rest of us went out kayaking. Dad wanted to see the lighthouse and take some picture so that's where we went. It took us about 45 minutes to get there and a little less to come back. On the way back I saw
a whale up the channel. I just saw his spout and back and tail. When I got close to the dock there was a seal swimming around the bay.

We are now back and tired. We are just going to relax for the rest of the night.

Another Monday down the drain. Another day coming to an end. It was an alright day. Monday's are usually just average so this was no exception.

We woke up at 7 and took a shower. After eating some toast with jam, Tyler went off to work, and I followed shortly after. Kyla is sleeping on the couch in our living room as we only have one spare room, so it was hard to stay quiet. Our usual routine was changed a little, but it's no big deal.

Work was alright. I'm starting to get use to all the stuff that goes on there, so it's a little easier to to tolerate. Tolerate, not fully enjoy but I'm getting there. Slowly I'm starting to see that I can survive the 5 day week. Today was like every other day. Scanning, faxing, listening to my co-workers talk while I pretend to work. I could have gone home at 3 but I made a few extra bucks staying.

I got home from work to find Tyler starting on dinner. I helped him out by peeling the potatoes. Mom J and Kyla were playing some Wii and have gotten better so that is good. They saw a huge bear at the dump. In the pictures, he looked super fuzzy and probably wanted a hug.

We ate dinner, which was so tasty. Tyler cooked up some back strap and I made mashed potatoes and cut up some carrots. It was a very tasty meal.

Tyler got an ocean fishing license so he went out to the rock pier and tried to catch our dinner for tomorrow night. Looks like we are going hungry because he came home empty handed. It turns out that the rob he has can only handle 17lbs and the line is 20 pound test. That might not work as we were told some one caught a 35 pound spring salmon just the other day. Also the hook wouldn't sink...not good for fishing.

We played some more Wii and are now watching tv. Tyler just made some popcorn so we are enjoying a relaxing evening.

The weather was alright today. It was a little warm but mostly cloudy and cold. The wind is very cool when it comes off the ocean waters.

Kitty has been out of sorts since the guests arrived. She isn't allowed in the spare room, which she use to spend most of her time. She has gotten over it mostly though.

Sunday

Well last night I was lucky and didn't get called in so I got to have a restful sleep to recover from the night before. I wasn't able to sleep in though for some reason. My back was hurting, so it wasn't very comfortable. I tried getting up but I woke Sonja up trying to unplug the work phone. So I stayed in bed with her trying to wake up fully. We eventually got up and Sonja made french toast for breakfast. It was good. I looked up what time mom and dad's flight came in and we based our day on that. We played some Wii while we waited. Finally we heard a plane come in and I went outside to see if it was the plane from Port Hardy. It was so we took off for the airport. When we got there it turned out that it was not their plane and we had to wait a few more minutes. They came in 5 minutes later. The first plane was probably an extra plane to take a fishing group back to Vancouver. They came and we got their bags and packed them into the car. It was pretty full as they brought some stuff that we wanted, like my fishing gear, some canisters, tent and other things we couldn't fit in the car originally. We brought them home and unpacked. After that we went out for a walk and showed them around the town a bit. We saw some eagles but not nearly as many as we thought we would. They all got some pictures to start off their trip. Hopefully they don't get to bored of taking pictures as that is all there is to do. We have played a little bit of Wii. It is pretty funny because mom and Grace have been playing mostly and they are pretty bad. Maybe they'll catch on but its not looking that likely right now.

We had some lasagna for supper. It was really good. After supper we went for a walk onto the pier because some people were cleaning some fish so we went to see what exactly it was. While we were out there we saw some people fishing off the dock. Apparently last week someone caught a 35lb spring salmon off the pier. So hopefully that pans out for me and I can catch something good like that, now that my fishing poles are here. No plans for the rest of the night. Just relax and hopefully I can sleep again. We'll see.

I usually hate being woken in the middle of the night, but I guess that's what I get for marrying a man who works on-call shifts. Tyler got called in last night at 3am. I was in a half asleep daze and was confused about what day it was. I asked him to make sure the alarm was set for the morning and he told me just to go back to sleep. I thought I was making sense, but I guess not.

He came home again at 6am. And we slept on. I woke up and got out of bed at around 9:30 this morning. I tried to be quiet because I knew he didn't get a ton of sleep last night. I left the room and filled out some more RCMP papers while I ate my Cheerios. I had to change out of my pjs so I went back into the room and Tyler was awake. Not sure if it was because of me, but he didn't say anything about that so I will continue to assume he was just ready to wake up. We talked for a bit and then got up. Tyler got called in again. I was asked to go to the RCMP detachment for my guard training so I left when Tyler got called in.

This training was pretty boring as you may have may have assumed. I have already worked 2 shifts and I pretty much knew everything. I got there at around 11:30am and got right into the giant book of dry material. The trainer basically told me that most of the things we were supposed to, we don't have to. It was a very informative 4 hours of my life. We talked about how I get to hit a prisoner on the head with a fire extinguisher if they overtake a member. There isn't a lot to that job, so its funny that the rule book was as big as it was.

I got home at 3:30 and Tyler was taking a nap on the couch. He looked so cute all curled up under the blanket. We talked some more and decided we should probably get some food before the inlaws arrive tomorrow morning. It's hard to judge how much food to buy when we are so use to buying only for 2. We do have a menu and I am pretty excited for the tasty food we will cook. We came home and unloaded the dishes, then made a strange dinner. I cut up an orange. Tyler boiled some hot dogs while 2 corn cobs boiled beside them. We also made some crinkly fries. It was an odd combination of foods but we are both full, so it did it's job.

We just finished playing a bit of Mariokart. Tyler spent the afternoon while I was away, looking up cheats on the internet. Now he can beat me at any level in the game because he knows the short cuts and special places to go to make the track shorter. He's a little turkey for only telling me one secret passage. I didn't understand how he was suddenly always doing so much better then me.

The weather today was beautiful. Not super hot, but the sun was out and there were little clouds in the sky.

Kitty was being so cute this morning. She cuddled in my arms pretty much all night. She is so silly. She doesn't really like Tyler and wont stay in the bed with him. If I leave to go to the bathroom, she will follow me. I love that she loves me back like that. It makes me feel like all the energy I put into her is worth it. It would be any way, but this way I get a little something out of our relationship.

I think we are going to try to watch Repo Men tonight. It looks like a crazy movie and I hope it doesn't disappoint. We will have to watch this one on Tyler's computer as it didn't work for us to try and put it on a memory stick to watch on the tv.

Tomorrow the inlaws arrive. I think we will show them around our little town. Perhaps show them all there is to do here. Then we have to decide what to do the rest of the day. I think just relax outside if the weather is nice. Looking forward to it.

Friday

Well the week seemed to go by pretty quick since it is now Friday night. I have been on call all week and haven't been called yet. Today was probably the slowest day of the week. I only collected blood from 3 people. At 4 it picked up and I did more work in the last hour than I did all day and possibly for the last two days. I came home and Sonja had bought a pizza from the store and we had that for supper. We cleaned the house a bit and played some MarioKart. The pizza was really good. It was pepperoni. After supper we played some more MarioKart. Sonja is getting pretty good. She beat me a few times.

Our plan for this night is watch a few movies, eat some popcorn and Sonja made a smoothie and it is delicious.

I saw a seal swimming in the bay out front and it disappeared before Sonja got to see it. It weather was really nice today and is supposed to be for the next week, so we will be able to enjoy it after I am done being on call.

A long day at the office

Today was a long day. Just one big long day that I am glad to be mostly over with. It wasn't a horrible day. I laughed a few times at work, got to eat fresh cherries that were picked from the tree yesterday. That is one giant perk about living out here - the fruit is usually only about a day old, the fruit that people buy from Bella Coola, not the stuff you get in the store. It's so tasty. I have eaten a large number of cherries over the past few days, and man, am I feeling it.

I woke up half an hour before the alarm was supposed to, with a full bladder. Not the kind of "full" that you can wait till morning to get rid of, but the "full" where you can hardly move and laying on your stomach hurts. It wasn't a great way to start a morning, but I guess it has to do. After a hot shower, I ate some toast with jam and when Tyler was ready, we played MarioKart. Tyler bought the game when he was back home and now that's almost all we do. I am expecting some cross-stitching from people from back home when Mom and Dad Jarrett come out here, so finally I will be able to do that again. I can't wait.

Any way, I went off to work in kind of a bad mood because Tyler had beaten me at every game we played. I'm just a little competitive and I hate loosing. But work was alright. I got to photocopy another patients chart. It's not so bad once you get the rhythm down. Plus it gave me something to do for about 2 hours. As usual, the morning went pretty fast but the afternoon took forever to end. I had been texting with Amy all day again. We were discussing baby names pretty much the whole day. Some good ones the were suggested, but I wont tell any one...I don't know if they will use some of the ones suggested.

I eventually came home and started on supper. I put together a noodle and chicken dish. It wasn't bad for being my brainchild (not sure if I used that term properly). I just played DDR for about an hour and now Tyler is playing his MarioKart. He can't get enough of it.

No plans for the night, I bet you are surprised to hear that. Might watch a movie later, or just continue to play this game. Does any one have any suggestions as to some movies we could watch. They have to be on DVD already, but any suggestions will be fine.

The weather was a little on the cool side today. Blue skies but not super warm. It's getting a little cloudy now, but it's still a nice little day out there.

Kitty was playing mouse with my ponytail. She would bat at it and get her paws all tangle up. It was pretty cute. She likes to play DDR with me. What I mean by that is, she runs under my feet as I am dancing...it could get ugly one of these days.

Only a few more days till the Jarrett's come. I talked with my boss and asked about them possibly being able to go to Klemtu, like my parents were able to. She said that it really shouldn't be a problem, so that is exciting that they have something to do on at least one day. I have also been trying to come up with a menu for next week...it's a little more difficult to feed 5 people then it is to just feed 2. I'm sure we will manage.

One more day till the weekend. I'm pretty excited for not having to go into work. I'm also excited that I will be coming home in a few weeks for a wedding. I'm super excited about seeing Penny get married and hanging out with friends and family the week before. It's going to be a really fun time!!! I can't wait.

Today started with a good nights sleep, with the cat getting restless around 7 this morning. We got up and got ready for the day. Cereal for breakfast. We played a little bit of MarioKart this morning before going off to work. The morning seemed to go by kinda quickly for me, even though it was kinda slow. For lunch I had a sandwich and a hot dog. It was pretty good for a lunch. After I went back to lunch it was slow again, until 2:30 when the ambulance pulled in. They brought in a guy who jumped off the dock wrong. The doctor wanted a chest xray and his entire spine. I took a half hour of my day and made it go by quicker. After that it was coffee. I got to go home a little bit early today. I came home a the ferry was almost stopped outside the apartment. I thought that maybe they were slowing down because there were whales out in the channel so I rushed to get home and changed to see if I could see any whales. I turns out that there was a tugboat pulling a barge the opposite way of the ferry and the ferry was just waiting for them to pass before continuing. We had cheese stuffed chicken for supper, with rice. I made some popcorn after and we are now watching The Bounty Hunter. No real plans for the rest of the night. Finish the movie. Hopefully I can continue sleeping through the night and not get called back to work tonight.

Thats all for today.

Stop, collaborate and listen...

It's like the weather hates Tyler. Every time he is on-call, it is beautiful and we can't go out and do stuff because he has to be close to the hospital. Today is no exception and the rest of the week will be similar. It's kind of funny to me, because this has happened every time he has been on-call. Every time. It's almost handy because now we know that next week will be cloudy. Tyler is our own personal almanac.

Today started out as every other. The alarm clock goes off and we just want to continue steeping. Tyler kind of changed it up a bit by setting the alarm clock to a song I hate. That got me out of bed and into the shower faster then normal. Some songs are just stupid.

Breakfast was a bowl of rice krispies mixed with honey nut Cherrios. It's a nice little combination. Then off to work where I already had a bunch of stuff to do. I don't mind going when I know I will be busy. Yesterday I started copying out a patient's paper chart. It was a huge chart. I could have finished yesterday but I was tired of doing it and plus, what's the rush? I finished that today and started to do some other stuff. I was busy, but not with anything interesting enough to remember. I know my co-worker didn't seem to be in a good mood. There was also a little disagreement about the air conditioner. I sit right by it and it blows into the side of a metal shelf. The cold air doesn't go any where so I freeze while every one else boils. I turn it off, and when I go on my breaks and come back, it's always on. It's a little frustrating but I can understand that people don't like being super hot. Perhaps I will bring a sweater tomorrow.

I got home before Tyler did. As is customary for people around here, they wait until about 5:00, right when Tyler is supposed to get off work, to come get blood work done. It's nice because then Tyler gets paid more to stay, but Tyler isn't a huge fan of having to stay late.

I got home and started playing a new DDR game Tyler bought me for our Wii. I danced to Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby"....that's how awesome this game is. And I'm pretty much a pro at it so it makes it all the more fun. I have a DDR mat from earlier and we had brought that out here when we moved. It looked like it was going to be fun, battling each other with awesome dance moves...but the other mat doesn't work. For some reason, nothing registers so it's pretty much garbage. I played the game for about an hour. During breaks, I also made dinner. Tyler said he wanted chicken strips so that's what I made. I also threw some crinkly fries in the oven and started slicing up some carrots for a nice balanced meal. For the carrots, I was using a food slicer, one with a very sharp blade that I was being very careful around. Not careful enough, as I sliced a good chunk of my thumb off. It's not so bad but it bled a lot and we don't have any bandages. I made one out of packing tape and some cotton pads we have for cleaning stuff.

Tyler came home and we ate. It was pretty good, not the best though. It was my turn to do the dishes but Tyler said he would do it. It hurt when I stuck my shaved thumb into the hot water. I grabbed the cloth to dry but it hurt me too. It's the kind of cloth that is made up of micro-something and it grabs at loose skin. It pulled on the loosed flab of skin and, believe it or not, it was less nice feeling it then it is for you to read about it.

Since it is gorgeous outside, we went for a quick walk. It was breezy. We are now at home. As I write this, many things are going on in our home. Tyler hammered the internet cord against the floor to make it not so crazy and every where. The cat has an attitude, so she is bugging Tyler by getting annoyingly close to his face as he hammers. She started running around and being a little turkey. Tyler just took all the pop bottles into the storage room and as he was coming in, Kitty tried escaping. He pinned her to the floor and tossed her back inside. Then they played a short game of "cat and mouse", with Kitty being the mouse and Tyler being the cat, chasing her around the house. Tyler is now trying to set up his hammock on the deck. The hammock itself is to short so he has some rope that he will now try to make it an good height.

Tonight doesn't look to thrilling. Just a relaxing night with my husband. I love it that we are home together. It's no way to live without him.

We have figured out our Christmas plans. You might think it's a little early, but we have to plan ahead for flights and time off. We are looking into flying into Edmonton on December 18th and staying until January 2, 2011. Since Christmas falls on a weekend, Tyler doesn't have to take that much time off.

As said before, the weather is beautiful and the sky has only wisps of cloud in it.

We are looking forward to our second set of guests to visit this rock. Tyler's parents are coming out here on Sunday for the week and we hope the weather holds up.

Excited to spend some time with them!!

Tiring Weekend

So this weekend was Tony's wedding weekend. So therefore very busy and tiring for me. Friday afternoon I went to help them set up the yard that they were going to use for the wedding. After that was set up we went through the rehearsal a couple of times before taking off to Gull Lake to set up their hall. That was also a long process. We set up the tables and set out chairs. Eventually we were at a point that us guys were able to leave and get Tony to bed. We went to the cars and started towards Tony and Aimee's place when Tony stopped and realized that he didn't have his house key. So we went back to the hall to look for it. We went in and didn't find it. We looked in his Jeep and still couldn't find it. Just before we decided to leave I thought that I would retrace Tony's steps and watch the ground for his key. I started where he park and looked down and found it right away. I gave it to Tony and we went to his place. When we got there he said that he needed to stop on the way to pee and that he lost his key then. I of course knew he was trying to pull a fast one on us and just played along because I know that was the only way to get the key from him. I was right and he had hid it in his shoe. He needed to grab some stuff from the Jeep and I took the key to open the door. He had a key that he thought might open the door but wasn't sure, so I pretended that the key he had wasn't for the door to the house. He bought it and tried the other key he had. It turns out that it was the right key in the end. We finally got Tony to bed around 2. I didn't really sleep very well that night. I kept tossing and turning and waking up all the time. We got up at 7:30 and started to kinda get ready. We went to Denny's for a good hardy breakfast. Went back to Tony's and started to iron clothes and shower and get ready. We left for the wedding to be there for 12:15. The weather unfortunately didn't work out for them and we did the wedding at the church they had for a backup. It rained most of the day on and off. So for pictures we all got pretty wet. They had a RV for transportation so we were all able to hang out traveling from location to location. It was a fun day regardless of the rain. The meal was good and the reception was good.

So Sunday we slept most of the day after getting back to Bella Bella. It was exhausting. We went to bed at 8:30 and slept until seven when we had to get up for work. I went to work for 8:45 as I am on call this week again. Before I came home there was some talk of the doctor going to a community called Ocean Falls today and I was told I could go. I wasn't sure if that was still going on so it was a shock when I went to work and found out that I was going and wouldn't really be doing anything there. So the doctor came by and we went to the airport to catch the plane. We got on the float plane and left for the town. It was a half hour flight and it was cool to see everything from 700 feet. We landed on the water and got off on the dock. We made our way to where the clinic is set up which is the re-purposed RCMP detachment. I found out that there was nothing for me to do so I went for a walk around the town. I went up to the dam that they have built for power. I found out that is where the
power for Bella Bella comes from. They have a hotel that when it was built, it was the largest in BC, but now it is totally abandoned and f
alling apart. The town only has 35 residents there now. In its prime it was almost 7000 people. It was an old logging town and had a huge paper mill. But in 1986 the company quit and the whole town shut down and left to be regained by the forest. The government has been tearing down buildings to help the forest out and to make it more natural. So when you are looking around the shoreline you can see where the old forest was and where the town stretched out to. There is a distinct line between the new trees and the old forest. We left for Bella Bella at 1:00 and were back around 1:30. I went to work and finished off the day. I didn't get home until 6 and then made macaroni and cheese in the oven. It was delicious. We did the dishes and then played some Wii. We are now watching Last Comic Standing.

That is all for now.

What a weekend!!!

This weekend was the best weekend I have had in a very long time and forgive me if I forgot to mention everything...it was a very busy weekend but I loved every moment of it.

My weekend started Thursday morning. My flight was scheduled to depart at 11:30am. I had asked a guy at work if he could give me a ride when he goes up to deliver important things that need to get on the plane. I ended up being at the airport at 9:30am with not much to do. I did bring a book that I started on our honeymoon, but its a little hard to get into so I'm not a huge fan of it. While waiting at the airport, I saw an RCMP airplane come in to pick up some people. It was pretty cool, with the guy riding a horse on the fin of the plane, and the red, yellow and blue stripes down the middle of it. I didn't have a camera so I can't actually prove that I saw this...but it was a new plane to see.

My flight left on time and there were no complications. I do have to say that traveling alone is not the way to go. I would much rather be with someone to talk to, or just to have a person to know. It makes it less lonely.

I finally got to Calgary, and I was so excited. I new that I was about the see Tyler again and my heart was racing. I decided that I didn't want to cry when I saw him, you know, with all the other people standing around and he said he brought a friend of ours along. As soon as I found him in the crowd, I ran up to him, wrapped my arms around his neck and cried. It was so great to see him again. He looked a little different but it was the best part of the day for me.

All three of us, Tyler, David and I met up with another friend who lives in Calgary. We went to Chillies. That was the first time I have ever ate there, and it's pretty good. I also didn't eat anything all that day, so I probably wouldn't have noticed if it tasted bad. We had a lot of good laughs. It's always great to get together with those who have been your friend for a long time.

We then headed home to Ponoka. We stopped by Red Deer to drop David off and we got home pretty late. It was good to see the in-laws again, and have some more good conversation. Tyler and I (mostly Tyler) were packing some more stuff we wanted to take out to Bella Bella. It is difficult when you have limited space to pack. I think we did manage to get all the stuff packed and ready to go.

Friday was also a really great day. I got to hang out with my friend, Karissa. We went shopping for new clothes. One of the first days we got out here in Bella Bella, my jeans started showing signs of a hole that eventually grew larger and larger and now is just kind of embarrassing. We headed out from Wetaskiwin to South Edmonton Common and shopped all around there. We found most of the things we were looking for. We did not find me a good rain jacket there, which was high on the priority list and very disappointing when they are all really poor quality. I got jeans, t-shirts, pants. We had a really great time catching up and laughing. I love the people who surround me because they all make me laugh so much.

Any way, after we spent a good 4-5 hours there, we went to South Gate shopping mall to find more clothes that I needed. I also ate a sub that took about 10 minutes for the person to make. This is more of a side note, but I was the only one in line and it took that long... kind of annoying.

I had asked Karissa if, since we were so close to Sherwood Park, we could stop by my parents place for a little surprise. Mom and Dad had no idea my plan was to show up. I had let Amy and Eva know about, although I'm thinking now that I should have also let brother Tyler know... I have no idea why I didn't let him know I would be in town. Perhaps because I still think he lives at home... silly brain.

We showed up at my parents place and got the reaction I was hoping for. Big hugs and lots of smiling faces. It was also great because Mormor and Morfar were there. I love my family and when there is more people to see, I am really happy. Amy and Eva hadn't showed up yet but we chatted with the older generations for a while. I was great to be home again. On the back deck, sipping water, more laughing. What a great way to spend time. Amy and Eva eventually came but since we were already there for a while before they showed up, we left almost right away. That wasn't part of the plan but it was still great to see them again. It's been much to long.

As we were leaving Sherwood Park, the flood gates must have opened up, because it started to pour so hard that we couldn't see where we were going. Straight roads are a must when that happens. It was really freaky but we managed to escape.
Then Karissa and I went to Leduc and finally found a good quality rain jacket. That was a must and I really love my new coat.

When we got back to Karissa and her husband, Luke's house, the power had been out for about half an hour. We sat around their kitchen table, as we have so many times in the past, and just talked and laughed by candle light. We eventually did find a lantern. It was a great night.

Saturday was the wedding that Tyler was the best man for. I stayed over at the Risto house Friday night and we were going to hang out again during the wedding, as Tyler was a little busy with having fun with his best friend.

The ceremony was supposed to be held outside in a beautiful garden but it rained a lot and it was moved into a church in Innifail. It was a beautiful wedding, with the groom shedding a few tears. It is so great to see friends get married. It makes me smile to know they are so happy. Luke, Karissa and I went to Boston Pizza for some food after the ceremony was done. It was a little loud with drunken shouts, but we managed to enjoy ourselves.

And then there was the waiting. We drove around Lacombe for a few hours, sat in a church parking lot talking, going to the top of a hill and coasting down in neutral. It was fun but also very tiring. But it was still fun.

The reception was held at the Gull Lake Center. We went early to, not only burn a few minutes of just waiting, but also to make sure we new where we were going. It was easy to find but something about the place seemed so familiar. As we turned off the main road, the trees lining it was bringing back memories but I couldn't place them until I saw the Camp Rehoboth sign. I used to go there all the time with Mom and Dad and it was weird how much it has changed and how much I still remember of that place, even though I haven't been there in some many years.

We went inside the Center and the place looked so beautiful. They did a really great job at decorating that place. We ended up going back to Lacombe because we still had a few hours.

The reception was fun too. It was strange because its one of the first weddings I have been to where I wasn't related, or I didn't know them for a very long time. I hardly knew any people there but we did meet a few interesting people. We still had a great time. The speeches were really sweet and the food was so amazing that I could eat it every day of my life.

I must also mention, that Tyler looked amazing in his Best Man outfit. he wore a nice green long sleeved shirt under a pin striped vest with pin stripped pants. He looked so amazing and I am so lucky to be married to such a handsome man.

They finally got to the dancing part of the night, which meant that Tyler could now hang out with us. We all danced, laughed, talked, walked around... it was a great Saturday night. It turned into a late one.

Our flight back here to Bella Bella was leaving Calgary at 7:00am. We were lucky to have Tyler's parents going out in that direction so they dropped us off at the airport but not before we left their place at 3:30am. That wouldn't have been a big deal only we didn't go to sleep. We were at the reception till pretty late and the plan was to do some last minute packing then go back to Luke and Karissa's house to spend some time with them again. We ended up only being at their place for about half an hour because they were falling asleep and we didn't think it was fair to keep them up. We went back to the house and laid in bed. We didn't want to go to sleep because then it would have been harder to get up.

So we were dropped of at the airport and checked into our flight. We had a bit of time so we grabbed some breakfast and tried to stay awake. During the flight, I got to sleep a little, maybe 30 minutes. Basically we switched who got to lay on the others lap and sleep. I feel like I slept the whole way to Bella Bella but I know that's not true.

On our flight from Port Hardy to Bella Bella, we were told that if the plane has a hard time finding the runway, it will turn around and go back to Port Hardy. We really didn't want to be stranded there until the weather cleared up so we were praying they could find all the runways they needed.

They did and we made it here safe and sound, only we are both extremely tired. Tyler is actually napping right now. We unpacked, showered, doing laundry, and playing a bit of DDR. Tyler is so sweet. He bought me a DDR for the Wii we got for our wedding. I love that game. I would have played longer today but I can barely keep my eyes open so I dont think it would work out too well.

There weather is cloudy. No real rain, just a slight mist. The ravens are singing in the background, which is lovely. There is currently a raven sitting on our deck and the cat thinks she can take it down. If only the window wasn't there Kitty, then you could.

We only have one plan for tonight: going to bed early. I want to go to bed right now, but that's a little too early. I don't think I would sleep through the night.

It was a fantastic weekend full of laughs. It all happened so fast and I can't believe it is already over and I have to go to work tomorrow, but it was a great trip.

Make sure to look out for Tyler's blog post. I don't know when he is going to do it, as he is sleeping right now, but he had an interesting weekend as the Best man for his friend.

So its been a busy day today. Packing up stuff to take back to BC, visiting some family, and helping Tony and Aimee set up their wedding. Since we didn't have posts in the last couple days I just giving a update. Busy day but still not done.

We will update you more when things settle down.

Tyler

Sorry

Its been two days now without a post and we are sorry for our loyal readers for keeping you waiting.

Sonja had one wrote on Wednesday but it failed to post because it logged her out and she couldn't get back into the site to post it. I did not realize this so I didn't post anything either.

Yesterday I went down to Calgary to pick up Sonja at the airport. Spent the day at Cross Iron Mills mall checking out Bass Pro Shops and the works. It was a busy day. We went for supper with some friends and then drove home. We were up talking to my parents for a while so we didn't get a post done yesterday either.

Today Sonja is going shopping in Edmonton with a friend and gets her turn to spend some money. I have to go down for Tony's rehearsal and spending the night there before the wedding tomorrow. So I apologize in advance as there may not be a post for the next couple days either. I will try to put something up later tonight, but no promises. Tomorrow will be a late night with an early morning the next day because of the wedding and early flights on Sunday.

Thats it for now and again we are sorry.

SO EXCITED

So, there is only one more day of work before I get to come home and see Tyler again. I can't wait. I am traveling home to hang out with friends and go to a friends wedding. I'm excited. So super excited.

Today was just like every other day, boring, so forgive me if this blog isn't too long. Kitty woke me up at around 5. I heard her playing with the curtains so I got up and opened the curtains for her so she would stop keeping me awake. It was absolutely beautiful out side. Calm water, dark yellow sky with no clouds. If I wasn't about to fall over because it was early, I would have watched that all morning.

I kind of got a good sleep last night. Didn't wake up too many times. I woke up and did my morning business and went off to work. And that's all I have to say about that. Seriously, I finished my work at about 11:30am and didn't do anything the remainder of the day. I texted with Amy again, wrote myself a little note. Didn't do anything. Getting paid to sit around and do nothing constructive is not so bad when I don't want so badly to be home with Tyler.

Once I got home, I made myself some dinner. I am still tired so the plan was to go to bed early. 10pm my time I think will be good.

The weather was so awesome today. Nice and hot. Right now, the sky has a hue of pink in it. There are no clouds out there and the water only has the ripples from boats on it. It is pretty beautiful out here.

Kitty has found a new hiding place. In the spare room on the window sill. She likes to watch the swallows fly back and forth. Speaking of those swallows, I just remembered that I got attacked by those birds after lunch. I was walking out, and they were swarming in our front walk. They were circling over head and one even tried to poop on me. It was actually really scary. I just waved my arms around like a lunatic and they left me alone. I didn't like it.

Only one more work day and then I get to go home. I think I can make it. I'm looking forward to seeing Tyler again. It's been going pretty fast and I hope tomorrow doesn't last forever. I don't like wishing time away, but I just want to be with Tyler again. I want to be with people. It's lonely out here, when the only people I talk to is work (which isn't the best) and then home with Kitty and Monkey. Laugh all you want, but it's been a long week.

I can almost start counting in hours...
Love you Tyler. Can't wait.

Sleepy

I am so tired and have been all day. Let me start by explaining what happened yesterday.

I was going to bed at around 11:30pm on Saturday night when my phone rang. It was the RCMP and they needed me to guard some people for them. I went there, knowing I would be there a long time. I was there until 8am Sunday morning. It was a really long night. There were a bunch of drunks sleeping in their cells most of the night. They were quiet and I was able to watch another movie. I'm going to have to find out which movies I haven't watched, just so I can have more to do. The RCMP brought me one more guest. That was one unpleasant person. Kicking the doors, fluent in swearing, and high as a kite. Not the nicest way to spend a Saturday night, but when there isn't any one else to be with, it's the next best thing. It was nice to get paid to do something I would be doing at home any way.

At 8am, the next guard rang the door bell. I went to go let her in, but I went through a door that locked. We were now stuck and I just wanted to get home. My stuff was also locked inside, so I was sad. I also felt like a total loser. I had to call the main dispatch center in Prince George so she could get in contact with the member who was on call, and have him come down and let us in. The dispatcher and I had a laugh about my predicament. I felt bad because the member on call had to be woken up just so he could come down and open a door for us. I told him that I felt really bad and he seemed okay about it.

By the time I got home, I wasn't all that tired any more. Of course I really was exhausted, but I didn't feel it until about 9:30am. I took a little nap. I didn't want to sleep all day, as then I wouldn't sleep at night and Monday would be torture. So, I woke up again and laid on the couch. Laying on the couch offered many things, but none of which helped me stay awake. I soon fell asleep again on the couch multiple times and soon it was about 8pm. I had just woken up from my latest nap, when I decided I should just go to bed. I was clearly that tired and it didn't make sense to stay up any longer.

I headed to bed only to get a phone call. It was the RCMP again, wanting me to come in and guard for another 8 hours. I thought about it, and then when my brain couldn't put a sane thought together, I decided to pass this shift up and just go to sleep. I climbed into bed, feeling my body relax as it finally is able to rest. I got another phone call, only this one was extremely welcome. Tyler called and we talked about his bachelor party, how much fun he was having and other stuff. It was so good to hear his voice again. Ps, I still miss him. Any way, we talked and then we hung up because we were both really sleepy.

I could have predicted what happened next. I could not fall asleep. I was rolling and tossing and turning, pretty much doing everything but falling asleep. It was frustrating. Every time I looked at the clock, it was only 20 minutes later. All night long. Of course I did get some sleep, but it sure didn't feel like it.

And that leads us to this morning. What a gross morning. It was easy to get up because I was already awake. I got dressed and after some morning time, I went to work. Since I took Friday off, I was expecting there to be a ton of paper that needed to be scanned. I got there and there was a mountain, but I knew it would be done before lunch. And it was. I got my work done today at 11:30 and then it was off to lunch. I also had been texting Amy all morning, which was nice. It's always great to hear from people, especially when I had to find a way to waste time.

I had jam toast and cucumber slices. It was tasty. I continued to talk with Amy, only now we switched to facebook chat. It was a good time.

Then I went back to work. I put some finishing touches on the day and still had an hour and a half to figure out what to do with my time. All with a big old headache, which had moved in some where after lunch. I was still texting with Amy. I didn't do anything remotely close to real work because I was done all I had to do.

I came home and made some supper. Strawberry and banana smoothie with a bowl of rice krispies on the side. I am still uber tired, and there still isn't anything to do, so I am just sitting here, blogging right now, watching some tv. I know, my life is thrilling but give me a break. I'm just counting to days until Thursday. Thursday will be a glorious day. I get to see my hun again in a very dramatic airport reunion. Amy and I have planned it out. I mean, we've planning our very own reunion which will take place when I come back into town, very excited. But, Tyler better be prepared for the ultimate in lovers reunions. I'm warning you babe!

The weather was amazing today, which is typical. It's always crappy weather on the weekends and really hot sunny weather on the weekdays, when we can't enjoy it. It does make me feel better that it's been raining in Edmonton. Makes me feel like I have something out here to enjoy.

Tonight looks like this: ...hmmm, nope, there aren't any plans. Tv, facebook, playing with Kitty.

I forgot to mention the helpless Doctor I am looking after. He comes in and I introduce myself. He gave me a look like he really didn't care at all. I was just trying to be nice, but he was just a huge grump. He would walk past the waiting room to ask me who was next to see him, even though I gave him a schedule. He could very easily look at the schedule, and call the people in himself. But nope, I get paid to call the patients into his exam room. What a grump! Oh well, not everyone can be happy all the time.

I have run out of things to talk about. I could continue on about how much I miss Tyler still but that's a little over done for those of you who maybe don't miss him as much as I do. I will keep further thoughts like that to myself. Maybe!

Love you babe

We're singing fight, fight, fight on Eskimos

Well today was an early morning after a successful bachelor party for Tony. Golfing was good, the weather was good and the BBQ was delicous. It was good to be able to hang out and have fun. But of course with a fun time comes a late night followed by an early morning. We were up until 3:30 and I had set my alarm for 8 to be able to get to church on time from Blackfalds and help Tony clean up a little bit before taking off.

I went home first and quickly showered and then off to chuch. It was good to be back in a familiar church again, even if it was just for this week. It was great to see friends again and to catch up and answer questions about our new life. Through this I was offered a ticket to the Eskimos game tonight, so since they were playing the Lions, the local favorite in Bella Bella, and because it was a football game I went. The weather was fair. We got there and it was windy and there were clouds coming in and it was only a matter of time before the rain was unleashed. Living in a rainforest, I can now tell when that sort of thing is going to happen. Unfortunately I was excited to come home to enjoy the awesome weather that has been going on here, only to get more rain. If I wanted rain I could have stayed in BC. But back to the football game, it rained and was windy, but cleared and was warm in the sun. Strange Alberta weather. The football game wasn't anything that spectacular, it was super defensive, only one touchdown for Edmonton and a fieldgoal. BC won 25-10, so now I will have to go back and try to live that one down, but at least I can say that I was there. That helps. It was fun regardless of the loss. But due to the game, my plans of sleeping this afternoon were shot, so now I am very tired and am off to bed.

That is all I have for now. Sorry its not very long.

All alone and bored

So, since it's just me and Kitty here in beautiful Bella Bella, I didn't do anything today. I got to sleep in until 9:30 and that was glorious. I had a breakfast of cereal and after leaving the dishes for another time, I worked out. I skipped for about half an hour and then lifted weights. It feels good to be doing stuff. I also watched a few movies, but honestly, since it was such a boring day for me, I don't even remember which ones.

I made lunch. Cucumber sandwich with extra cucumbers on the side. I also had a smoothie. And that's about it. It pretty much sucks being here alone. I put on one of Tyler's hoodies, to make it at smell like someone else is here. It just made me miss him more. Only a few more days till I get another hug from him...can't wait!!!

The weather was alright most of the day. Not that warm, but not cool. Now, it is completely fogged in. Can't see across the bay.

Kitty was being super cute today. She is now sleeping right beside me.

Happy weekend!

Love you and miss you Ty.

2 posts tonight...wow

I know that it is technically Tyler's turn to post something, but since we aren't in the same province right now, and I need something to do, here goes the second blog post for the night. Sorry to make you read more then you are used to.

My day started early. I woke up a few times starting at around 4am. It's never going to be a good day when it starts like that. I had planned on taking today off from the clinic, just to have a longer long weekend, and there wouldn't be anything for me to do today any way. It was 8:45am and I was so excited to still be in bed. But then my phone rang. In my half sleep sedated state, I immediately thought it was the clinic phoning to see where I was. It would have been so typical for them to forget that we agreed I could take the day off. I answered the phone and it was the RCMP detachment, wondering if I could come in and guard someone. I was a little confused, as I had no training and I was still not all there. I had 10 minutes to wake up and get my butt over there. Luckily, it's about a minute walk, so I wasn't too concerned about the timing. I pounced out of bed, threw some clothes on, made sure to brush my teeth, grabbed a granola bar and headed over there.

I wasn't nervous because they said they would give me a crash course on how to do it. It is really simple. I am supposed to watch the prisoner on the monitor and every 15 minutes, write down what they are doing. I soon found myself bored, as drunk people tend to sleep for hours and hours.

As the time went by, I was getting more and more hungry. A granola bar didn't fill me up and it was time for lunch. Since I basically woke up and ran over there, I didn't even think to bring any more food for myself for throughout the day. Also, I was told that next time I come, I should bring something to do. Computer with movies, books, cards...something to make the time pass. And next time I will.

The day went by pretty fast. It was nice to meet some of the members. Although its a really boring easy job, I kind of like it better then the other job I have. Maybe because it's still new. Maybe because I can do anything I want and as long as I write down what the prisoner does every 15 minutes, the boss will be happy. I'm looking forward to more shifts there. Not looking forward to being woken in the middle of the night but I can always turn shifts down there. I like that too. If I don't want to go in, I don't have too.

I ended up texting Amy and Tyler most of the day. Both are on vacation right now. So jealous! When I came home, I finished the rest of the pancake batter from the previous couple nights. I made 2 super pancakes and had a glass of milk.

I just finished watching a movie that wasn't really as good as I had hoped.

I also got to talk with Tyler tonight. It was good to hear his voice. I miss you babe! But I will see you in less then one week.

Any way, no plans for the night. Just hanging out with Kitty. I think Kitty missed me today. We had all these plans for the day that got ruined when I got called in to work. She's okay though. There is always tomorrow.

Glad to hear that Morfar is out of the hospital and now at home. That is always welcome news.

Hope every one has a good weekend.

Home

Well yesterday I came home. I spent the day packing and flying. the flights were nice. It is pretty easy to fly home which is nice. The flight from Vancouver was pretty close to half full. I flew into Calgary and Tony picked me up. We went to Tony's place in Blackfalds and hung out and spent the night there. We woke up and made some last minute calls for his bachelor party tomorrow. We are going golfing at the Nursery Golf Course in Lacombe and then back to his place for a BBQ. Dad came down and picked us up and we went to Red Deer to pick up food for the BBQ. It was handy for him to come because I wouldn't have known how much to buy. We ran around Red Deer for a little bit. Picked up a few things that Sonja and I want to take back to the island. After we dropped the food off at Tony's and I came home with Dad. I came home to discover that all of our stuff that we left behind was gone. It turns out that it is all packed away in a "mouse proof" shed outside. It is kinda bad because I was going to go through it and try to find some more stuff that we want to take back. Now that task is going to be much more difficult.

I came home and had a suitcase half full of fresh salmon and crab legs. I went over to Grammie and Grandpas to say hi and to drop off a chunk of salmon. Tomorrow is the bachelor party so hopefully the weather is nice. Thats kinda why I came home, to get away from the rain. Not much on plan for tonight. Watch some TV and relax.

Big sigh

I always hate regretting things. I will always remember when I was about 5 or 6 and mom and dad took me to walmart. This was back in the days when collecting stickers was the coolest thing I did and I was being treated. Mom and dad said I could choose any sticker book I wanted. For some reason, I didn't end up getting one, even though I at one point had one in my hand that I wanted. I went home empty handed. I have always regretted not getting that sticker book. Not sure what the draw to it was, but I think about from time to time and I have no idea why I didn't buy it. Any ways, I am regretting right now not going home with Tyler. Tyler is, right now, in the Vancouver airport, waiting to go home. And I am sitting in Bella Bella, alone with Kitty, doing nothing, regretting not going with him. The reason why I am sitting here instead of with Tyler is because we didn't have anyone to look after Kitty while we were gone. I offered to stay. And what a bad decision that was.

The day started pretty good. We were both awake and out of bed by 9:00am. I made pancakes and for once, I didn't burn them. Tyler taught me how to make pancakes without burning them. The trick is to not put them in a burning hot pan, but to slowly cook them. They turned out good, only they were really small and really thin. Mini crepes. Tasty.

Then Tyler got ready for his big trip. He finished the laundry from last night and folded all his clean clothes. He packed away the crab and salmon and was all ready to go by 1:00. He just wanted to get out of here. I just wanted him to stay. I kept shedding a few tears because I am going to miss him. And I do. I hate not being able to be with him. It's hard but I know he will have so much fun. And I am super jealous that I will be here, not having as much fun.

Then we went to the airport. The e-brake gave us some more trouble, but soon we were waiting at the airport and I kept crying. I didn't want him to leave but sitting there waiting for him to leave was torture. Luckily, to lighten the mood, there was a little tiny kitten in the terminal. A little boy was holding it. She was orange and so cute. The little boy took the kitten outside and returned with it in a cat tote. He was carrying it around and then went back outside. He returned again, only now, by some mysterious happening, the kitten was now a full grown cat. It was a strange moment for about 10 seconds, until we realized that of course it was a different cat. But they looked the same. Then we noticed the little kitty in there too. It made my day a little happier when I didn't think anything would.
We said our see-you-laters (because you never say good bye!!) and I walked out of the airport. My plan was to run back to our apartment, and I did...in 20 minutes. I ran about half way and then walked really fast. I saw the plane in the sky and that was that. From all that crying, I had and still have a huge headache. I miss Tyler but he called and that made it all better. He said there were 3 cats on the flight and one dog underneath.

So, now I am doing nothing...there is actually less to do, now that Tyler isn't here. I don't want to go for a walk alone, and that is really all there is to do here.

I am currently watching Thelma and Louise. It's a silly movie.

Kitty is laying beside me. Sleeping.

I made a smoothie for supper. Only I made more then one person needed and even more then Tyler and I could drink. It was good.
I should probably try to cut Kitten's toe nails. They are tricky to get too, plus the fact that she hates pedicures, this will be a tough game to play with her.

No plans for the night. I am just waiting for Tyler's call again, once he gets into Calgary.

It's funny how much I miss Tyler. How much I want to be with him right now. It makes me feel so happy that I get to spend the rest of my life with him. I just can't wait till next thursday.
